Bullhead Catfish Love Cheese Balls

- There are many types of bait that work well for catfish. Ranging from fresh cut bait to artificial bait. In this video, I show that using cheap cheese sticks will catch bullhead catfish. I've never used this before as bait and I was pleased with the results. Dog food was also used to "lure" in the fish causing them to come near my location because I didn't have access to a boat. Although no giant fish were caught, it is always enjoyable to get out and try something new!

Good video! Usually lots of small Bullheads and Sunfish in a pond or lake is a good indicator that there aren't enough top predators to eat the Bullheads. If there are too many Bullheads and Sunfish for the available food, none of them will grow to a really good size. Bass love eating Bullheads and grow quickly when feeding on them! If you can get some descent size Largemouth Bass to put in there they will begin reducing the numbers of stunted Bullheads. If you'll do this? You'll have some fat and sassy Bass and fewer, but much larger Bullhead Catfish. FYI-NEVER put Flatheads in a small lake or pond. Flatheads grow large and eat large. Flatheads will eat the Bullheads for sure, but they will also eat all the Channel Cats, Bluegill, Bass, and most anything else that swims.
They always croak when I take them out of the water. I remember being 6 and catching bullheads from the Rock river in Mayville, Wisconsin. Thanks for the video!
I like how light of gear you use. When I go for bullhead i use hundred pound braid with 45 pound wire leader. Mostly because where I fish I catch a lot of bowfin, some up to 8 pounds, that break 15 pound line like it's nothing.
Perfect size for flathead bait live...or cut em up for bait for blues, channel, or other bullheads. It's a good way to thin them down.

they may not have planted too many bullheads but they breed fast, especially without enough predators present, throw in some largemouth bass or a few channel cats to prevent stunting depending upon size of the pond

great video but I would have eaten the cheese stick and use some Garden worms for those little bullheads also this might help, I was in Mississippi all I was catching was little tiny catfish then I decided to use bigger piece of a sunfish that I had for bait and then I started catching some bigger catfish maybe you can try that with one of your little bully heads if that's legal in your state.

Bullheads will eat just about anything. I have access to a pond here that's overrun with them. After you get them biting, just the scent on the hook is enough. They are great for getting kids hooked on fishing though. 4 of us can easily catch about 50 fish in an hour or two.

Trojan 4 ever! Bullheads are a nuisance id rather channels & Blues. Bullheads will destroy the eco system of a pond.

Take the bullhead to an area with Flathead catfish and use them for bait! Bring the Flathead back to this lake and set them loose and you will cut down on the bullhead population
