I was so happy when I saw Coder take my "opponent is trying to XYZ Summon during my Main Phase" call
it's the gemini god!
I don't get it can they do that. I'm new to do this
@@jaytassy2974 No, not without a specific card effect
Orcustrated Babel's effect to be able to use monster effects on your opponent's turn only works on Orcust Link Monsters you control and Orcust monsters in the graveyard, also the part of Dingirsu where you can overlay a Link monster is an Alternate summoning condition, not an effect. For both of these reasons, you cannot XYZ summon Dingirsu during your opponent's turn with Orcustrated Babel.
That call had me in tears man, that shit was the funniest thing ive ever seen
I do not enjoy or like lemons_secretary being banned.
I do not enjoy or like lemons_secretary being unbanned.
Thanks to the infinite loop, Pole Position is sent to the GY and play may continue.
This deserves pinned bro
I choked and almost died
pole position destroying itself is funny af
its like a robot trying to calculate something that is not possible and just nukes itself
XD
Technically its sent to the gy so it doesn’t trigger cards related to destroy effects. The real crazy thing is due to the nature of the infinite loop the remove from field destroys highest attack monster seems to not apply.

yes but that's an ash
@@zeidissaoui2908 Its because ash negates the effect instead of the activation. If people do not understand why red-eye fusion can still be negated by ash blossom under meltdown effect, it is because ash blossom does not negated the protected part of the effect, and because it can negated the non protected part of the effect, it negated the effect of the entire card.
Meltdown simply doesn't protect against ash blossom because ash blossom doesn't negate activations, but the effect
Before, if I recall Pole Position could create a lockdown, since summoning a monster with a certain attack(if I recall the loop involved an equip spell) would start the infinite loop, and since players were not allowed to voluntarily make a move that would cause an infinite loop, you just couldn't perform that summon at all.
I'm glad infinite loops like that just take themselves out now.
Double dare you to showcase the power of Ojamas! #youwont
summoning x-head cannon while pole position and luminous spark are on the field causes pp to go to the GY
I'd hate to not understand something and then have this guy screaming how stupid I am in front of his audience.
I mean 99% of people know to not strike a fusion spell 😂
Most calls he takes are in ranked play where you're expected to know.
good on the Zack223 block, the guy is really weird from what I know
and I play customs, so me thinking he's weird is on another level
Even Konami was like "ay fam just don't play pole position it wasn't designed well"
Hello there,
could someone please explain to me why the REF can be negated at 2:17? I don't get it :(
Because Ash negates the effect unlike Belle which negates activation.
Ashe doesn´t negate the activation of Ref. Just the Effect. Meltdown says the activation of cards or effects can´t be negated. Sending material to grave for a fusion summon is part of the effect and not cost therefore u can chain Ashe.
Meltdown only prevents activation negations not effect negations
There’s a difference between negating Activation and negating Effects.

I cant get enough of these videos.
7:55 LMAO I'm crying
The orcust one made me roll in my grave.
I love coder video they make me laugh
YES YES YES YES YES SCREW POLE POSITION
They should of just changed it so "pole position" still makes the monster with the equip spell unaffected by spells even tho it drops the ATK because what's the point of the loop,
They should just errata it to 'waste 20 minute of judge time', because that's basically the only thing it's good for.
I guess he forgot that solemn strike is not solemn judgement
I just have a question that doesn't really have something to do with the video but if you get drolled can you still activate Alpha/zeta/delta because the adding and draw are you can effects so you don't need to add or draw its just something that's kinda confusing to me and since drytron is one of if not the best deck I think this would be good to know.
@@toppelgänger Thank you I know for a fact zeta and alpha are you can effs so I kinda assumed delta was to.
"But did you read babel"
"Get F***** for playing Pole" 🤣🤣
I'm glad they changed that. I had a bad run in with pole position... screw that card.
i want to see the guy who tried to strike the fusion and watches all of coders videos comment on this video
Can someone explain why the pole position is destroyed?
I understand that if an infinite loop is caused by a mandatory effect (e.g. drawing a card in the Draw phase), then PP is destroyed, but in the case shown in the video, the player activating the pill would make the # of cards they control 1, meaning that the other player's purgatrio gain 200 ATK, thus making it the highest ATK on the field subsequently causing an infinite loop
Because the loop (while being because of pole position) is caused by the player making a voluntary action (activating the pill), wouldn't that be an illegal activation, as you can't activate cards/effects that would cause infinite loops?
So yeah, you can't cause infinite loops, but Konami updated the rules to specifically deal with the problematic cards like Pole Position. Someone at Konami decided that if a card like Pole Position causes an infinite loop, just send Pole to the grave to easily sort it out.
I think they changed the rules so that the decision of which card to toss to resolve is up to the judge now.
Lmao I made it in the video 🤣
babel?
Keep up all the great content
@1:05
Lol just imagine if it worked like that
Yo Big man. Where you get these card rules example infinite loop cancel ruling? I really need the rule because someone may be using rules as advantage tactics to lock the opponent's side for during anything. Please Help Distant Coder.
It's the official Konami policy documents. Which can be found on the official YGO website.
@@thk573 that is fine, but where card ruling section ? As I mention had someone done forced reveal ruling then used targeting spell. I really did thought that was a dirty move considering they had dominance win by default. Even the shopkeeper didn't notice that but rolled off the revealing request ruling.
@@ex-bahamutgamer8381 They don't really have specific rulings in there. It's just examples showing situations that can happen and how it'd apply. For the thing you're mentioning it sounds like it might fall under one of the examples of the Tournament Policy document on page 38.
Really though, I do recommend reading through the whole document. As there's information in there that everyone should know when playing.

This what happen. it was near the end match of a tag dual, one of the players had ultimate conductor tyranno and used effect to flip opponents' monster cards over. other player had Salamangreat Spinny, Salamangreat Miragestallio, salamangreat pyro phoenix, salamangreat sanctuary and Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir. the opponents had pure ice barriers and Utopia deck. Salamangreat player ask to look Utopia player to reveal his face down gaga card when clear the salamangreat player knew it was Gagaga Caesar and Zubababancho Gagagacoat on the utopia player. this is crazy utopia player never cheated or done something suspicious. salamangreat plyaer throw Deck Verification ruling to see they was gy effect then salamangreat player trageted the Gagagacoat with effect card. It throw lot of people off and it was understandable. I found it too suspiciously to believe that was genuine rule call out.
That is why I really need the rules for, because it sound like targeted unkown card with mind control ruling. honestly I know I am going or expect to be dust off, but I really felt dismay how inexperience player had very unsporting behaviour even it looks good sportsman has been played out. It is not the 1st time salamangreat player used the rules against someone to gain advantage or flexing at someone. Most of the players who locally remembers quick spell cards can be use any turn without setting it.... that really saying a lot. honestly thank for your pointers.

Coder, as a tip to you, you should only reply with one-line answers, given that they're so confused on a basic ruling. You're flexing too much judge prose essays.
Well, I enjoy full explanations personally, I think if you are serious about the game, understanding why is even more important, but it certainly takes more time and effort to type. Most players probably would still not understand why and probably not care, and still be angry their effect doesn't work.
If they did care, they wouldn't Solemn Strike a Fusion Spell. That's just basic, come on. Lol

What if the pole position ruling was updated because they couldn't implement it in master duel? Does this mean that there is a chance that master duel rulings will be accurate?
Technically pole position isn't causing the loop. Placi g the card on the field is causing the loop? So why is pole position supposed to be send to the GY
According to the rulings he cited, the judge gets to decide which card is the 'primary cause' of the loop. So while it would be equally valid to send Purgatrio, Pheonix Blade or Goyo- or, indeed, the card the other player played- I do think his decision to blame Pole Position probably makes the most sense. Its the card that creates the weird interactions.
When will Konami hit Numeron's or Eldlich with a banlist
Hey I have a question im new to the game and was wondering if it's possible to activate two card effects at the same time with the same Banished monster, Example being Gozuki banishing Necroworld Banshee, to get Banshee's effect of activating Zombie world from the deck and Gozuki's effect of special summoning after banishing a monster.
Necroworld Banshee's effect is not activated whenever it is banished from the GY. It can banish itself from the GY as a cost to activate its effect.
In general, if the effect is not otp, or should be possible to use multiple copies simultaneously.
Did anyone else hear “PoIIo Predator” at the start
how'd that orcust player not have ip masq on feild + gala to make borrel or mek-knight crusadia on opponents turn after popping a bombard instead of babel. bables good but an omni negate disrupt oppent's first/second play is crucial. that ding thing was just cringe of someone not understanding the op qualities of orcust

This video makes me depressed 👀
Does Pole Position do anything other than cause headaches for everyone? Card should be banned, not for playability, but for the convenience of everyone.
There's a card that does cause headaches but actually does something. It is called Inspector Boardner. Sometimes, I feel like Konami intentionally makes cards way too wordy and backwards, for example, the God Cards have a lot of text but are basically vanillas. Divine Serpent Geh is pretty wordy too. Relinquished and a lot of Pendulums are too much as well.
But I think this new ruling is cool for not creating instant win conditions because a loop is created. Pole Position turbo decks...that's kinda ridiculous.
I hate to this but the player using pole position does create a victory condition by forcing his opponent to be unable to play any cards to create an infinite loop meaning he can attack to reduce his opponents life points to 0 and given that the ruling listed on Konami's website is about 2 of the player controlling pole position's cards being used to create an infinite loop technically pole position should not have been destroyed and the opponent should have been unable to play any cards to to the wording of the new ruling
pole position here would be destroyed for causing an infinite loop

What the heck lol 😂
No!!!!!!! Sad, rip infinite loop…
Is dueling book shutting down?
Ok I'm genuinely curious because I feel like I'm missing something. But why does the Ash negate the opponent's Red-Eyes Fusion while Meltdown is up? Meltdown literally say "The activation of your cards and effects that include an effect that Fusion Summons a Fusion Monster cannot be negated, also your opponent's cards and effects cannot activate when a monster is Fusion Summoned this way." and the only condition that Ash applies for is the third one where "When a card or effect is activated that includes any of these effects (Quick Effect): You can discard this card; negate that effect.
● Add a card from the Deck to the hand.
● Special Summon from the Deck.
● Send a card from the Deck to the GY.
So how is it able to negate? Again, I feel like I'm missing something, so I'd appreciate it if someone could help me understand this here.
Ash doesn't negate the activation, just the effect. Magical Meltdown only stops cards that negate the activation
@@Dylan-vs6sf How many cards are there that negate the activation? Because that sounds really dumb on Meltdown's part.
@@StargazerZ99 Quite a few. Negating activation vs Negating effect and the differences between the 2 are important rulings in Yugioh
@@Dylan-vs6sf Ok. Has Coder covered that before in a video or no? Because I would like to learn more about this so I don't make similar mistakes in duels, and so I can better understand the rulings of Negating activation vs. Negating effect.
@@StargazerZ99 I don't think Coder has ever gone into it specifically.
The major ruling to remember is that if a card says it can "only be activated once per turn" IE: pot of Duality then negating the activation means a second copy can be activated. If you however just negate the effect only a second copy cannot be activated. If a card however says you "can use this effect once per turn" negating the activation does not mean the effect can be activated again.
Otherwise its things like Meltdown where you just need to be careful of wording.
Nice =)
If someone could help me with this ruling, that’d be awesome: I activate the affect of firewall dragon, who is currently unable to be destroyed by card affects due to being co-linked with excode talker. My opponent activates solemn strike in response to firewall dragon effect. Does solemn strike negate the effect even though firewall can’t be destroyed?
Yes. Says negate the effect and if you do, destroy. If it said "negate and destroy", it would not be able to be activated
@@TheCrimsonSpider but firewall still wouldn’t be destroyed tho, right?

Although I called distant coder for an issue I didn't made to be in the video
Oh when did the infinite loop rule change? It used to be "can't legally start a infinite loop"
November 2020
3,500th like!
Pole position should just be banned.
Kind of stupid that they fixed infinite loops from happening.
They can still happen provided that they lead to one player winning. For example, an infinite loop that would have a player draw cards unstoppably would be allowed.
As well, if I remember correctly, infinite loops that are controlled by a player and can be stopped at any time are also still allowed. The only example I can think of for this (which could be wrong, to be honest, I'm not an expert on YGO,) would go as following: Player A has Gearfried the Iron Knight on his field. He activates Butterfly Dagger - Elma and equips it to Gearfried. Gearfried destroys the Elma, then the player adds it back to his hand using its effect. He can theoretically do this loop as many times as he wants, but the important thing is that he can STOP doing it whenever he wants, which makes it legal. An infinite loop that does not lead to the duel ending and cannot be stopped by either player... why would you even want that in the game? You want to sit there for an excessive amount of time while a card activates over and over and nobody gets to do anything? You could always just sit in your room and stare at the wall for hours if you want, Konami can't stop you from doing that.
2:35 meltdowns effect: "the activation of your cards and effects that include an effect that Fusion Summons a Fusion Monster cannot be negated,"
red-eyes fusion: *has an effect that fusion summons a fusion monster*
distantcoder: "yes, you can negate REF hur dur"
Keyword *activation* . Ash negates effects, not activations.
ash doesm' negsate the activation of anything lmfao
Smh I still hate that they nerfed judge call turbo. So much of the game is exploiting RaW: it's why "targeting" is an actual mechanic. The nerf was like removing all cards You could use to mill the opponent.
