Got the Skindinavia ones after watching, funny thing- sprayed it on my husband whose T zone is like an oil slick and at the end of a work day he had NO SHINE. He won't leave the house without it now. They sent a couple of freebies as well :) Great service. Oh- used the bridal one on him.Hehe :)
People just take it out on people that they don't know and truthfully they would never say it to your face. they think they rule the world and nothing can stop them when it comes to something on UA-cam. I feel very sorry that you have experienced this many times, you are such a good person to take time to make videos for us to watch and learn from! I have learned SOOO many things!! I just need to learn how to apply bronzer since I have such light skin!
How can anyone in their right mind not like this tutorial? Wayne's teaching us a very important and valuable class on setting sprays! I just love it! I've learned so much from you. Love ya!
i just discovered your channel. i don't know how i've overlooked it with as much as i've been scouring youtube for ideas and how to's! yours is the best by far, probably because you're one of the few ACTUAL makeup artists putting up videos. my point is, thanks a lot. i've learned so much already and found videos on info that i couldn't find anywhere else. keep up the good work!
This is what I adore about you, the fact that you keep all your videos short and simple. No fuss around other stuff, no weird effects to seem cool or whatever, just simply whhat the title claims:D Its so good of you, I always know what I will find in your videos :D Genious
I just purchased Urban Decay's All Nighter and I am so glad I saw it on your list of fav's. I value your opinion very much and I would say I made a good purchase. I love it and I love the smell of it. I wear glasses, and I notice when I use this to set my spray, I don't have that horrible look on my nose from where the glasses sit on my nose. It works amazing.
Wayne! please please test out and review ppi blue marble setting spray! Ive heard amazing things about it but you're the only makeup artist I truly trust for an unbiased opinion xoxo thank you!
Looking back at an old videos like this really shows how much more healthy and better looking you have become! Great inspiration, keep going n wish me luck with my own goals :D
I recently purchased the NYX MATTE Spray. I like the way it sprays... the product dispersed very well over the face and it does set the make-up very well, especially if you will only be in doors. I powder my face a little through out my work shift and then I spray a little of the NYX MATTE SPRAY. I keep bottle of the MAC FIX plus ON DECK. I've been using it for 9+ months. With my skin type ( semi oily in the T Zone) I can say the MAC FIX PLUS works VERY WELL at helping my Foundation and Concealer ADHERE to my face. I also spray a coat of it when I'm all done with everyting else (powder, blush, higligter ect.) I think Ill start using the NYX spray for this part simply because I feel it disperse better. The fix plus sprays differently....anyways.I want to try the UD/Skandanavian spray.
I love your videos! Thanks to your tutorials people are commenting on how great my skin looks instead of my make up! I have mentioned this before and I will say it again you have taught me more about make up than a lifetime of reading magazines - THANK YOU so much,
You are a true gift to the industry. Of all the information available on UA-cam, you are the one who is most knowledgeable, honest, and logical. You really make sense. Are going to be at the makeup show in New York in May? I would love to book a consultation with you.
I've used and tested ELF and it is AWESOME!!! I applied black shadow to the back of my hand, with and without primer, sprayed and let dry. Rubbed HARD for a minute and it didn't budge at all on the primer side, barely budged on the non primer side. It is definitely worth more than the $3 they charge for it. I will say, though, it takes a little longer to dry than UD or MUFE, but it's never caused any issue with smearing or anything, just use a light mist from about 7"away. Hope that helps :-)
Wayne!! I wanted to let you know it was 100 degree's here in Chicago the last few days (4th of July!) and I had to be outside in this heat along with HIGH HUMIDITY! I used the FACE atelier Matte before I applied my foundation (over my moisturizer) and after all my makeup was on AND OH MY GOSH, my makeup lasted the whole night! I WAS SHOCKED to say the least! I have combination skin and normally it would have just slid off my face! I have you to thank for keeping me beautiful in this heat! XO
Thanks so much for doing this video because I'm just getting into the artistry side of makeup and I have millions of questions to ask but your videos are nipping away at them...one video at a time! Once again...thanks.
I've been using Urban Decay All Nighter for about 4 years. The longest it's worked for me is 18h but I always set with powder first. It's my #1 and I'm so glad Skindinavia have developed it for Urban Decay as Urban Decay products are so much easier to find than the actual Skindinavia ones in UK stores)
I agree Wayne. Mac & MUFE are more on the refreshing mists than setting sprays. I use Urban Decay, Skindinavia de' slick, oil control setting spray "white bottle" due to my oily skin. I absolutely love that it doesn't have much of a scent and it works like a charm. For refreshing mists, I use rose water by Fred sold here in our local, Family Dollar Store for a mere $5, 10ml. Lovely soft scent..I refridgerate it for a nice cool mist on my face. Great wake me up. lol
I checked the ingredients in those setting sprays you mentioned and they all have one ingredient that is very harmful to our health: Propylene glycol is used in many cosmetics including liquid foundation makeup, spray deodorants, baby lotions, moisturizers, lipsticks and suntan lotions. This substance has better permeation rate, and what’s more, it’s even less expensive than glycerin. It has also been linked to sensitivity reactions - local irritations, allergic reactions. This would not be news to the manufacturers of propylene glycol. You see, if you were to buy a drum of this chemical from a manufacturer he is required to give you a material safety data sheet (MSDS). It would just alarm you to find that this common, widely used humectant has a cautionary warning in its MSDS. It says, “If on skin: thoroughly wash with soap and water!” Aren’t we applying this chemical on our skins daily, sometimes even in copious amounts over long periods of time? According to MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet), propylene glycol may be harmful by ingestion or skin absorption. In addition, this may cause eye irritation, skin irritation. Chronic exposure to this can cause gastro-intestinal disturbances, nausea, headache and vomiting, central nervous system depression.
BeatlesFanSonia this the kind of shit I wonder about but too afraid to Google. 😫😫 thanks for sharing knowledge! I still have to ask myself #tosprayornottospray daily.
2 best products I've learned about from from your vids, Philosophy The Present primer and Skindinavia setting spray! Love love love how much longer my makeup lasts now!
I have incredibly oily skin and I've used the Skindinavia No More Shine and I think it's amazing. It absolutely saved me last summer from being a greaseball all the time!
I do. I do think it's good for the price. It does make your face shiny if you spray too much and that can happen quite often because the spray cap of the bottle dispenses too much product. Also, the "mist" isn't quite so even. What I do is switch out the cap and it works wonderfully. For $3 there's not much to complain about...other than the weird smell. But that doesn't bother me as much so give it a shot.
Thank you very much for your detailed account of these products. Your mention of alcohol is invaluable information. I have rosacea and products that contain alcohol would be a complete disaster.
Hello! Just wanted to say thank you for always noting everything now in your information box below. It's always so helpful. Thank you once again for sharing; you're always so informative and helpful. You have completely changed my application of makeup; your tips and tricks are ALWAYS on point!!!
I have the mini all nighter, I didn't care for it much since it set my foundation but made my concealer(under eye) run like mad. So I bought the model in the bottle-sensitive. And I loved it, it set really really well.. But I did notice the smell, but it diddn't irritate my skin. I don't have oily skin so my makeup doesn't run to much, so I just spray it on a brush-My fan brush or just a light brush- and sweep it across my face, fantastic:)
I love the Australis one and I have really dry skin. It contains aloe vera and rose water as well so it has a super nice scent and feels soothing. Sooooo nice on hot days and I think out of all of the ones I have tried it's the best value for money. Like this everyone so he sees it!!!!
I was browsing from webpage to webpage looking for a real good setting spray (I have combination/oily skin) then voila the answer is here .. that is why I always refer to your channel for tips, advise and techniques .. you always tell the truth, KUDOS !
Omg. I love you. You are so great. I was wondering about setting sprays, I search of it on your channel and OF COURSE you've done a great, short one explaining everything you need to know. Thank you!
i have. its actually a really good setting spray for people with dry or combo skin. if u have seriously oily skin it doesnt make it last super long but it does really do a pretty good job for the price. i mean it had to put powder on my face throughout the day but it die make my face feel softer plus it has really great ingredients that are natural and good for your skin. :)
Wayne I was about to either throw away or give away my "Model in a Bottle" because I didn't like how shiny it made me. But when you said apply it as a distance I never thought about that. Plus I slapped on a powder so it looked terrible!! I'm going to give it a try and see if your advice works. Thank you so much for that tip :)
The Urban Decay Oil Slick spray is pretty great, as is the Kat Von D one. The only thing with the KvD one is that the mist isn't very fine. Something else that works for my oily skin but isn't necessarily a setting spray is the Acne One spray. Super fine mist, keeps the oil at bay, and contains acne fighting ingredients-- very much worth it.
Thank you! I had my sister texting me at school about picking a setting spray in sephora and they ran out of de slick so I got her to buy dew me instead. Really happy to hear it works well ^_^ thank you for the info!
Your videos save me a lot time and money by experimenting on stuff that ends up in a shoe box. I've tried tons trust me! Now I only make purchases after I read some reviews. Listen, if I take the time it pays off in the end.
I adore it...hope it works for you!!! My suggestion is to hold it away from your face and try to spray quickly. It's an awesome product, but the way the mist comes out of the packaging could definitely be improved on.
Me too....I love the smell now that I'm used to it and I open my eyes right away too. I wish they would repackage it so it's a finer mist like the Urban Decay ones....but whatever, I'll keep purchasing it over and over because it's awesome!
Urban Decay's All Nighter spray is the BEST setting spray I have ever used. I don't go a day without now, because I feel like my makeup doesn't look as good. My makeup literally lasts all day, no touch-ups necessary :)
Hi, Wayne do one on e.l.f setting spray I use that one and it's amazing. It's $3 at Target random conversation with a girl grabbing 2 bottles put me on this and ever since I love it. My only complain is I like my skin to look dewy, this makes it matte other than that my make up stays on my face with this.
+COCO Lve I've just started using the e.l.f. spray--my first setting spray--and I like the dewy finish but know it won't always be what I want (especially in the summer, when I'm dewy enough all by myself, thank you).
Eva Yaa Asantewaa You're welcome and yes it is one of the best I have found. I love there use of less harsh chemmicals in there products and the price is non-comparable.
I've used it. It doesn't really make the make-up last any longer. I've heard reviews saying it's great, but I haven't found it to make any difference myself. I like it more so as a refreshment for the face, without make-up.
Model in a Bottle takes the cake if you want matte finish that lasts. I always end up going back to it after trying others. The spray isn't as fine due to the way it's packaged...that's it's only downfall. You look fantastic in this video!!
You're right about MAC Fix+-it's useless as a setting spray. But it's really good to spray lightly on your foundation to settle the powder before applying highlights/contours/blush/etc.
I wear the MAC fix+ before and after I put my makeup on. I don't know what everyone is talking about, but this stuff really does keep my makeup in place ALL DAY LONG!!! I've never used anything else besides this, and my makeup never stayed on before. I also have very oily skin
I have both Model In A Bottle and Skindinavia. I have used them off and on for a couple of years with no problem. Recently I started working on the weekends so I started using them 3 days a week to help keep my makeup in place. After about 3 weeks my skin became dry and flaky and I do not have sensitive skin at all. I think it is the alcohol that is causing the problem. I thought I would be fine since I was not using them everyday but I guess it was too much. I just ordered The Blue Aqua Sealer
People are shedding way too much hate on Model in a Bottle. I agree, the smell takes some getting used to, and therefor, you end up getting used to it and not minding it. And if it really is too powerful, put some perfume on to cover up the smell! Some people also complain about how sticky it is on the face. I agree, when you first put it on it feels a little sticky, but the feeling wears off throughout the day, or at least it did for me! I think the reason for it being so sticky is for the power it actually holds. It keeps makeup on all day, and is known to even be waterproof. I haven't gone into the water with the product yet, but I am planning to experiment with it in the shower and see how it works. Anyway, my point is, it is a very helpful spray
the best part about goss is that he is in fact an extremely knowledgeable male and can be relatively objective instead of just showing off products that look great on the guru in the vid
Love your tutorials...I love the Super Sealer by Cinema Secrets...the key is spray on your face prior to moisturizer...works great especially in humidity I don't sweat at all when i use this spray
I think you read my mind when u made this video i was just about to buy a new setting spray, but didn't know my options now i so thankyou i love your channel!
I wish YOU had your own product line. You know how to make humans look their best and you know what the skin can and cannot handle. Just an idea, but I'm sure I'm not your only fan who would buy your products! :)
Thank you - I did not realize they create a bit of shine which is exactly what I am trying to avoid. I will look into getting the Face Atelier- living in Texas we are always in need of anything that will help in this humidity.
I hope you can answer this question because I really need your advice! I'm going to do my friends make up for her wedding this summer and I am looking for the right wedding make up products. The products have to be as long lasting as possible and good for photo's and video as well. There are a lot of tutorials about the right wedding make up look but very view about the right wedding make up products. Can you PLEASE do such a video about products for special occasions like a wedding?
I've recently ordered the skindinavia one!! Excited to put it into use!! Love your advice and tips always recommend the best things out there! :D thanks wayne! X
WAYNE! I bought the bridal setting spray by Skindinavia and was SO disappointed with it! I have no idea why, but I found my make up didn't last as long compared to the Urban Decay All Nighter [ridiculous I know considering they make that one]. Maybe it's just my batch or something but I won't be repurchasing it, I will though repurchase the Urban Decay one. Thanks for your ever amazing videos, you are honestly the last word in make up to me, you really inspired me to create videos so thank you x
Very informative video! Cheaper alternative is to make your own Distilled water Aloe Vera Vitamin E oil (2 drops) Spray bottle Mix together and voila you have a setting spray
I love the sweater!!! Thanks for the video! I think you are the only youtuber I've seen that actually noticed the UD spray is made by skindinavia--good job :-) Thanks for all you do and have a great day!
I've been waiting for that tutorial too. I have in the interum figured out that if I moisturize, then dab SSE over my face along with dabs of my favorite BB cream (Missha), pushing into skin ( not wipe-ing) that it's a nice look. But I've been waiting for Goss to do a tutorial ever since he mentioned it awhile back when showing the SSE. I'm sure he'll get to to it sooner or later. :) Hope this helps in the mean time.
Yeah i'd say its slightly dewy, like if my face is looking a bit dull or too powdered, if i spritz it on, it just livens it up a bit and makes it look a bit healthier :)
Haters are just jealous of your talent!!!!!!!!!!! Keep up the amazing work and think more about your loyal viewers who love you rather than the lowlifes who have nothing better to do than to amuse themselves with threatening comments!!!!!!!!
hey matt, i wear a clinique even better makeup foundation and i love after powdering with li lo lo loose mineral powder to use a mineral water mist to set it sounds crazy but it absolutley works and no alcohol at all!! it makes my face look 'real' again and i think to some extent hydrates. hopefully you could look into this more with your expertize x
Love your videos 💖💖💖💖 Keep them coming, they are so informative. By the way can you please make a video using the RCMA foundation palette. Showing us how to properly prep the skin before applying the foundation.
so true, the DEW spray is really good... I used to use the fix+ by MAC but the dew one gives me the effect I want... really helpful video! it confirmed my judgment :)
I've used almost all of those products and they all worked okay. I purchased a bottle of setting spray from Victoria Secrets...this stuff is AMAZING. And even better a big bottle of it is only $12! I'm a bartender in a LA night club, when I use the VS spray my makeup stays put all night long. I've already repurchased.
I used it this morning! It's not the best, but it's better then none at all. Also, I don't have a problem with the smell, but my friend don't like it. And you may have a bit of a feeling of wetness. :)
Its great!!! and cheap :) i dont use primer , i have very oily acne skin and use thick revlon color stay foundation to completely cover all my scars...the elf spray sets it all great , i use it before applying powder but its your choice i guess idk.. but it does take a few minutes to dry. if i spray too much , it runs into my eyes even if i keep them closed :) but try it! its nice for it s price
Would you suggest using setting spray before application & after? Or is after good enough? I completely agree with you about MAC's & tell all my brides to go with Urban Decay!!
Thank you Wayne for the info on setting sprays. I work as a dental hygienist and therefore wear a face mask pretty much all day. Any suggestions for how to keep make-up from rubbing off on mask? I use Urban Decay All Nighter on occasions, but make-up still tends to rub off : / Thank you for being here ♥
i just got my skindinavia newsletter and it said there an attached video how to get flawless face and i was like OMGOMGOMG ITS GOSSMAKEUP yessss i felt so proud of you :)
That's so cute! & Thanks for sharing how well it works! :)

Hi Mr. Goss :)
Is it true that rose water can be sprayed if one doesn't have an actual "setting spray". Would it do the job?
Thank you
Peggy ;) *wink*
I agree Wayne. Mac & MUFE are more on the refreshing mists than setting sprays. I use Urban Decay, Skindinavia de' slick, oil control setting spray "white bottle" due to my oily skin. I absolutely love that it doesn't have much of a scent and it works like a charm. For refreshing mists, I use rose water by Fred sold here in our local, Family Dollar Store for a mere $5, 10ml. Lovely soft scent..I refridgerate it for a nice cool mist on my face. Great wake me up. lol
id love to see you talk more about what products are appropriate for very dry skin, and how to stop it looking cakey and flakey!
I have extremely dry mature skin. Powder is a nightmare. I bought the Dew It. As always love you Wayne.
You're so knowledgable, Wayne Goss. I love watching your videos. Finally subscribing.

BeatlesFanSonia. Which one would you recommend that doesn’t have any harmful chemicals.

I have incredibly oily skin and I've used the Skindinavia No More Shine and I think it's amazing. It absolutely saved me last summer from being a greaseball all the time!

I live in the Deep South. My face is always sweaty looking in the summers, but I like the natural look anyway. Thanks hun!
You are easily the best makeup person on youtube! you have helped me sooooo much!
I use it and your skin stays matte but glowy, amazing
Thank you! I've been dying to know which one to try and now I won't waste my money or time on bad ones :)
I use it, I like it! it smells a little strange but it feels nice on the skin, I have dry skin so it helps my foundation stay on for most of the day
I really like the Ben Nye final seal spray! It's minty and sticky at first but you can feel it setting your makeup! Ohh the sticky feeling goes away.

oh no I just bought fix plus:( wish I had got the skindinavia now...
I love Mario Badescu rose water spray. It's pretty cheap, smells delicious, and melts any flakes I had, and makes everything look a lot more natural.
Your videos save me a lot time and money by experimenting on stuff that ends up in a shoe box. I've tried tons trust me! Now I only make purchases after I read some reviews. Listen, if I take the time it pays off in the end.
i didnt know there was a spray to make your makeup last longer wow. everytime i watch one of your vids i learn something new.
I love the quote. You'll always be my favorite!! 💕 I tell all my friends about your videos.
I have urban decay all nighter, I think it works for a few hours but really i just love the texture it gives to my makeup.
I have the Bridal one and love it too! It helps so much with the hot and humid weather :)
Oh Wayne you gave me quite a laugh when you said "shine like a disco ball!" I enjoy you so much! Best Wishes XO
Model in a Bottle takes the cake if you want matte finish that lasts. I always end up going back to it after trying others. The spray isn't as fine due to the way it's packaged...that's it's only downfall. You look fantastic in this video!!
I've just purchased the Urban Decay spray, noticed straight away that skindinavia made it which was a huge bonus!
I also have very oily skin
you should do a video best setting powders! or which you prefer using over liquid/cream foundations. x
I love how you include tips and advice for darker skin tones and different skin types in all your vids.
Got the whole line of Skindinavia sprays after seeing your video, they are fantastic as primers and as setting sprays. Thank you Wayne...
the all nighter is the truth! It lasts all day from 8 am to 2 am. i like the fix + for the summer or if I want a dewy look
Thank you - I did not realize they create a bit of shine which is exactly what I am trying to avoid. I will look into getting the Face Atelier- living in Texas we are always in need of anything that will help in this humidity.
i like avene, i think it's great product for you who have very sensitive skin as it's made from spring water but still do well to create the look
My Mom has this and she loves it!!! I'm not sure if you use tinted moisturizers, but which one do you think is the best one?
I got one from the body shop, in promotion for 1€ . i've never used it before, but now i love it!
mine has rosewater in it so it smells really nice :D
Very informative video! Cheaper alternative is to make your own
Distilled water
Aloe Vera
Vitamin E oil (2 drops)
Spray bottle
Mix together and voila you have a setting spray
I love the sweater!!! Thanks for the video! I think you are the only youtuber I've seen that actually noticed the UD spray is made by skindinavia--good job :-) Thanks for all you do and have a great day!
Really needed this video with my daughter's wedding coming up! Thanks so much!
Hope this helps in the mean time.
I used it and liked it....it's quite light weight. I prefer the Model in a Bottle for matte finish if that's what you're after.
2 videos in 2 days? MY LIFE IS COMPLETE!
I placed an order on Skindinavia and now I am just sitting at home and wait for the package arrive. Love your videos. XOXO
I used it this morning! It's not the best, but it's better then none at all. Also, I don't have a problem with the smell, but my friend don't like it. And you may have a bit of a feeling of wetness. :)
What is your opinion on rose water for a setting spray? Would love to know your thoughts. Always a joy to get a new video from you.
Scents rarely bother me, but that Ben Nye - wow. Spot on, likening it to mouthwash. Definitely works, though.
I use Urban Decay All Nighter on occasions, but make-up still tends to rub off : /
Thank you for being here ♥
i just got my skindinavia newsletter and it said there an attached video how to get flawless face
and i was like OMGOMGOMG ITS GOSSMAKEUP yessss
i felt so proud of you :)
