Very nice, was waiting for this video. Will probably watch it a few times and getter the courage to do this mod myself during spring. Thanks for sharing your experiences with the ST and RS community
Cheers mate, it took me a while to build up the courage, mainly because of the lack of being able to go back to stock but in the end it wasn't so scary
From watching your videos you have a good knowledge of materials and how certain loads affect them ie this video going from plastic inserts to metal ones. I used to work on CNC Lathes machining many different metals and plastics with very accurate tolerances for various engineering companies.
Great vlog, Adam! I’m doing the JBR solid bushing and shift arm this weekend, along with an ETS intercooler. You’re videos are really help put the install in perspective. Thank you! 🙏
I was cringing when i saw you put that metal tool against the nice shiny cobb shift plate... O.o Looks like a decent install...I havent seen all installations use locktite, but cant be too safe with something that can wiggle loose! Looks good, Im getting the plate/bushings for my ST...they're actually in the mail! ^_^
It's all good as long as you are careful and don't he-man it. You need to use the loctite because you aren't tightening them super tight in order to avoid issues with gear selection because of the little green plastic bit warping too much. The loctite will hold it enough, trust me :)
@@AdamRainey It makes sense...and its not like youre putting red loctite on there lol... but definitely an easy install, at least you make it seem easy! I do my own clutches, transmissions, engines, etc so Im pretty sure I can handle this ^_^
i bought this solid bushing a little while ago but i wanted to take it off however it just doesn’t come off, it just spins inside the cable, i used thread lock, do you have any idea how i would get it out? i’ve tried for hours😭😭
Do you know anything that would work on a foxbody mustang automatic my stock bushing and stud is worn out and saw these my cable has the oval eye on the end
@@AdamRainey can't wait for the final video showing all these mods,!! A slick gear change is a joy to use, !! Merry Christmas, to you and yours,, and a happy new year, !!
hi adam watched this video of yours fitted them to my car focus rs mk3 on mine cant 5th and 6th gear or reverse i take it u had any issues fitted yours
Hi Adam, are you going to change the shifter plate bracket bushings as well at some point? I've seen videos showing the bracket has some movement when shifting
What a terrible stock shifter bushing design. You have to tear them apart to remove them. Apparently, even with all their fancy engineering, Ford didn't think of securing them with R shaped cotter pins. 😅

Nice one Ian, cheers!
Another really useful video thanks Adam! Gonna be having a go at this once my short shifter has arrived 😄
Cheers mate :)
Cracking informative video again Adam , might well invest in this mod 👍
Cheers mate, I think you should!
Super video Adam!
Thanks Michael!
Another amazing video 👍
Thanks Laura 🙂
Did these two bushings tonight not as easy as you made it look 😂 but they don’t half make a difference 👍🏻

Adam, would you recommend installing the Shifter Base Bushing Set as well?
Hi Ian, it just so happens that I am covering that install in 2 videos time!

Did this today. When i move shifter to right or left (when standing) its not going back by itself to the middle fully. Why is that? Too tight?
Could be too tight yea
did you do the resetting the neutral part?
Nice one,,
Cheers John 😊

Cheers John, happy new year to you and yours - the video talking about all the shifter mods lands tomorrow!
Can this work on my 2014 Ford Fusion SE 1.6 MT?
If I want to use the COBB shift cable bushing, do I have to use the COBB shift plate as well? I'am going to get a short throw shifter eventually.
You can mix and match, you can do bushings without a short shift or you can use a short shift from any manufacturer
hi adam watched this video of yours fitted them to my car focus rs mk3 on mine cant 5th and 6th gear or reverse i take it u had any issues fitted yours
Hi Ian, Mine have been spot on. Try loosening a bit and re-doing the neutral reset

I am yea, I've had them on order for about a month but corona virus has delayed things 😭
What was your first car adam 😁👍

Thanks Laura, you were on the ball! 😁
Like and coment if you have liked.
comment :P
Woops lol
Would this fit the fiesta st.
Not sure Mark, the bushings are very similar but maybe ask Simon Cole from sico developments to be sure
How you finding it? :)
Good yea, it's not the last part of the puzzle tho...
First person to coment
Thanks Laura :)
Hi Adam, just wondering if the install would be the same for the Focus ST? Love your videos by the way, keep up the great work :)
Hi Mark, should be almost the same if not literally identical :) Cheers :)
