Thanks for the clear comparison video! I have a question on the TC Infinite, can you adjust the sound to be almost dry using the software app? (I know they all have some warble due to the looping that's going on)
No. The sound you hear is its "dry". TC Electronic do have software called Tone Print that allows you to edit and add effects. Reverbs and modulations.
It depends on your criteria and requirements. Only you know what those are. Same goes for what sound you prefer of the two. Both are different for sure. I only have room for one on my board and that will go to the Deep Freeze as I slightly prefer the sound. It is also louder and has more modes/features. In the UK at least the stock isn't great at the moment so I had to pay £30 extra as the cheaper European retailers are out of stock for the foreseeable future, only Andertons had it. The TC pedal will be cheaper and you have 2 versions to chose from, the mini and the full size. I would agree with those who say the TC sounds more "natural". The TC, both versions, have a (quieter) soft pedal switch. The EHX has a clicky louder switch. Can't really go wrong with either, it is just down to your preference.
@@PerputuallyCensored you say the TC sounds more natural. I've heard complaints in the other direction that there's kind of a weird sound distortion where it almost has a mini tremolo effect, meanwhile the ehx pedals keep the sound more consistent. Any thoughts on that?
@@lw1391 It is subjective really but for me it does sound more natural. As for hearing distortion from the TC, I don't hear that. I hear more modulation.
I can't believe how loud the switch is on the deep freeze. I have one of the newer models of the regular Freeze and it's pretty quiet (they did a great job fixing it). But given that pretty much the only complaint I ever heard about the original Freeze is that clicking noise, they really should have made that priority one with this new version (come on, you had one job, EHX!!). Meanwhile, I have two TC pedals and the button on both are absolutely silent. If you were able to combine the best parts of both of these pedals, you would really have a winner. Love pretty much everything else about the deep freeze though.
I also spoke to EHX about the noisy switch. They said they had no intention of changing it. So I did and as above says easy fix. I used a soft touch one.
I have the Superego+ and the original as well. These smaller ones do not sound as good as either of those. The Superego+ has built in effects and expression control. I like the "Auto" feature of it as well, that's when the expression pedal and effects are so useful live. I use the Supergo+ full wet, side chain it straight to the rig from the send and a stereo effect of one sort or another Eventide Blackhole pedal of late. My guitar signal for playing over it has it's own effect chain. I guess it depends on how you need to use it as if it's it's worth it to go big pedal goodness for this effect, I use it for several intros into songs and as a drone for another song, it has to sound good and be controllable.
How quietly do you play if the switch is that bothersome? I can’t even imagine having an issue with that or even with the old style true-bypass hard click switches. What’s specifically bothering you with it?
Cool comparison! A pico pog comparison would also be great
Comparison with what
the nano and micro versions and even OC-5. @@boimesa8190
i had the infinite and i sold it for the reason you hear on this video :)
The oscillation? I enjoy the slight warble.
is that not a setting within the pedal?

Thanks for the video. What is your opinion? Which one is the better choice?

Yep I left a comment on their video about this. C’mon EHX current times don’t call for old school clicky pedal switches. Reason I returned this
$10.00 fix, replace it with a momentary switch' two wires and less than a 10 minute to install.
They should have came this way.
I really wish BOSS would make mini pedals like this, because they have the quietest switches.
I also spoke to EHX about the noisy switch. They said they had no intention of changing it. So I did and as above says easy fix. I used a soft touch one.
Is the setting on the tc infinite mini the stock setting?
Yes
Toe Jam?
?
Switch could easily be changed out for a non click if bothersome

I'm happy enough with my Pico Freeze and I haven't tried any of the Superego pedals.
Returned mine as well for the annoyingly loud switch. Thanks for nothing EHX.
The Superego is another option. I think that has a quieter switch or you can just mod the Deep Freeze Pico switch.

@@louderthangod I mean... The switch can't be louder than the drummer, can it?
@@roy-batty I’d hope your drummer was louder than that.
Most of my pedals have these switches and you can't hear them over anything else lol.
Wow, the Infinite sounds light years better than the Deep Freeze.
