Finally! Someone who is not a gear idiot. This content provider actually does a review of a pedal that requires 'sustain' to evidence its effect by using single tones spaced far enough apart so that you can hear the interactive nature of the controls! 99% of pedal videos are useless because the performer is too busy trying to impress you with his playing, his latest 'ambient' song, his sensitive arpeggiation, the new 'chord' he's just invented, or his self-satisfaction with his newly won speed of pay...anything but that which is required to demonstrate the equipment under review. I'll check out your other content now! Thanks!
Thank you so much!
At last! A demo as clear as mountain water and succinct. Made my day! Now, I precisely know how to use my new pedal. And it's gonna be a lot of fun with that one. Hurray! Thank you! I'll check you out for other videos. If you make more. I subscribed. Cheers from Belgium!
So glad my video was effective thank you! And I will make more 👍
Outstanding work demonstrating this pedal! Inspiring sounds, too
Thanks so much! Glad you got something good out of it
Great presentation of the features of the pedal Jack!!
Thank You !
Thank you I appreciate it!
Thank you Jack - excellent video! The visual text was helpful and really well done.
I appreciate it thanks!
Thanks for the manual that TC couldn’t be bothered to give us.
No problem 👍
Thank you for your detailed explanation of all the settings. The "manual" they provide leaves a lot to be desired. I am loving the pedal so far. I just received mine yesterday and have been having a lot of fun getting to know all the in's and out's of the pedal.
Yeah no problem enjoy!
Just received mine! Great timing for this video! Thanks so much!
Glad I could help!
Excellent demo. Thank you! Wanted to hear you jam out more at the end, but that was cool.
Thanks! I’m glad it was effective!
Amazing, mate! Looking forward to have my pedal!
Thanks man I’m stoked for you!
very nicely made. thank you
Another great video. I really appreciate the production effort you put into you videos! It's really helpful and very professional.
I really appreciate that thanks!
Super helpful. Thank you.
This is the best reference video I have ever watched. I just bought the pedal yesterday and was still clueless on how exactly to use it and your video really explained everything clearly. Subbed.
That’s so awesome! Glad it helped!
best demo yet!!!!!!
Thanks! Glad it helped
Awesome video, thanks!
👍
Best demo of this pedal
So glad it helped!
well done, great video and playing! :) subbed
Thanks I appreciate it!
Thank you so much for this video. I was looking for a sustain-pedal for quite a while, the Gamechanger-Audio Plus is very expensive, the EHX Freeze didn't seem right to me, the EHX Superego+ seemed almost overengineered for my purposes. So I discovered this pedal finally and ordered it yesterday. Looking forward to try it out - and your video, which I saw only today, here is extremely helpful. Very well done, thank you so much!
No problem at all. I’m so glad it was helpful!
@@AmbientBassCreations Had some time to try this pedal - and I like it a lot. It is really helpfull for the music I want to create. So thanks again!
@@basserauskurpfalz Yes!!! This is exactly why I make pedal demos! I’m so glad it helped, and it sounds like Infinite is helping you make music your proud off too! Hell yeah!
this was very much needed as TC has nothing lol. 'preciate it bruh. excited to dive into my unit.
Thanks! Enjoy!
10/10
I want this in PLETHORA X5... :)
If it had Auto mode, it would be a no brainer. Thanks..great demo!
Oh I know right! Like Super Ego + EHX
Glad I found this very good video! The final setting was the one that I had in mind, but couldn't find it until now! No dry signal at all, then press the foot switch and voila, an infinite sample. Needed this for setting up a clean ambient loop with no chords sounding.
BTW, if I mess with the settings with the software, is there a way to factory reset?
Glad it was helpful!! Unfortunately I don’t know the answer to how to factory reset, so sorry!!
Hey Jack! Does this loose any low end? Do you have to have it early in the signal chain to compensate low end loss (like on the freeze)? Thanks for taking the time to make this! appreciated!
So after a tuner, preamp, and 6 other pedals, it's actually pretty close. My dry signal in general is a little diminished after all that but, after feeding a G and an A on the E string, the drone carries that bass boom in the drone almost identical to the note it's self... but only when you hit that foot switch immediately after plucking a note. If you play a note, then take a second to hit the switch, then it won't be as boomy. I haven't played the Freeze pedal in like over a decade so I apologize, it's been too long to remember how that pedal sounded to compare but, if there's obvious low end loss from the Freeze.. then it's definitely not obvious with Infinite. Hope that helped!
@@AmbientBassCreations tc electronic owes you for the purchase I am about to make. Thank u!
My only complaint is that the outro jam didn't go on for another hour or so... that was deep
🙏🕊️
Nice demo!
The infinite needs a envelope trigger controll and a side chain trigger. Pressing the pedal everytime you want a sustain is arduous. Maybe those big multifx can do it
Yeah like a synth engine.. that would be awesome
At the current price point of about $150, your “wish list” is ridiculous.
@@savoirfaire8979 Even an instruction manual is too much to ask for. But they lost or fired the "Looopah" guy.
Your pedal jumper cables have a little plus sign on them. What kind of jumper cable is that and where can I get some? Very informative and helpful demo of the sustain pedal. Mine is finally on the way from Sweetwater, I ordered it back in February!
Glad the video worked for you. The cables I think you're talking about are the solderless cables that you screw on yourself. The + signs are actually Phillips head screws and these cables come with a long roll of wire... you cut the wire at any length that you need, and then you just screw on the 1/4 jack tips with a screw on each end, and then you got your self your own custom lenth patch cable! Their from a company named Kurrent Electric and their the cheapest ones on Amazon the last time I checked. here's the link - www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07N348PKD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Enjoy your Infinite!
@@AmbientBassCreations Thank you SO MUCH for the excellent reply! You’ve earned yourself a new subscriber with that helpful answer! After watching your video I researched “little plus sign on guitar pedal jumper cables” and discovered exactly what you said in your answer! I ordered two packs with 10 connectors in each pack, D’Addario Pedalboard Cable Kit. I’m replacing all the ones I use now. Again, thanks for your help brother! 💙🎸💙
My pleasure!🤘
Nice, but I’ll be sticking with my GCA Plus Pedal
Can you remove the pic attack with it? Similar to a Pog2 to do volume swells without a volume pedal?
No, trying to use this for volume swells like from a volume pedal doesn’t really work
Thanks for this, the manual for this pedal has very little info on what anything does.
I know right, thats exactly why I had to make a video on it. Glad it was helpful!
I cannot think of any practical use for L1, 2 and 3. Why not simply use the program space for octaves or something? But...great unit!
Jack..how does it sound with High Gain or a overdrive Pedal..?
With the Distortion all the way up on my dark glass vintage ultra pre amp I placed it before and after. After Infinite it was much more muffled and glitchy so you're going to want to feed Gain into it. Before, it absorbs the gain very nicely. Infinite absorbs the gain a little more on the higher notes but even the low notes, it sounds pretty awesome. Played a G on the E string of my bass with full Gain and there's just a tiny bit less gain that gets through into the drone but it honestly sounds just like a sound effect you would hear in a movie when something really bad is about to happen. Honestly Gain pedals are the pedals I use the least and know the least about, so thats just what my ears hear but thanks for the question cus I probably would never have thought to play a low G with max distortion into Infinite and it was actually a really cool sound. Hope this helps.
Do you know how L2, L3, and Infinite work when using the MOMENTARY switch setting?
Shoot sorry Im not sure. I would test it out to see, but I no longer have the pedal
Why does a simple unmodulated note sound like it is modulated when saved?
Unlike EHX Freeze pedal, this pedal plays the sound sample both forwards and backwards for a more “natural sounding drone sound” according to the developers. I personally like this one better but if you’re looking for a pedal that gives you a static sound sample, EHX Freeze is the way to go.
Does this have an internal dip switch for true / buffered bypass?
Yes, it has two dip switches. Dip labeled 1 is true bypass as default and the switching it on turns it buffered bypass. Dip labeled 2 is a kill dry switch. Kill dry is off by default, flipping it on silences your instrument, and you can only hear the effect. It also has a battery clip underneath the hood if you don’t have a power source. Thank you Scott for bringing that up!
@@AmbientBassCreations hey thanks for the reply! Subbed
@@AmbientBassCreationsdo you happen to know the input and output impedance of the buffer? Is it like the HOF2 and Flashback2 (1M ohm->-100 ohm)?
Shoot, sorry I don’t know, and can not find any information on the buffer it self. TC Electronic says that the dip switches are the same “setup” as the other TonePrint pedals, for whatever that’s worth lol.. so I would guess that it is the same, but I’d just be guessing. If you find out, comment it to let everyone checking out this video know too!
@@AmbientBassCreations thanks! I have looked around the internet and can not find any info on it. I am wanting to use the infinitive as my last pedal in the chain (end of effects loop) and was hoping it had the same buffer specs as the other tone print pedals. It’s interesting that such an emphasis is put on the buffer specs for the HOF2 and Flashback2 but no mention of them with this pedal it seems. Strange. If I get an answer I’ll post it here.
I really wish they’d made it stereo :(
You read my mind
hey, also. Can this pedal be used as a stand-alone reverb without the infinite sustain?
It actually can! You can only have the type of reverb that comes with a certain Tone Print but, there's a variety of short and long reverbs and some tone prints allow you to control the mix and decay of the reverb with the Decay & Fade In knobs... I personally wouldn't ever replace any of my mono reverbs I have, with Infinites reverbs, but with the pedal off, and the Verb switch on, you'll have yourself a reverb pedal.
@@AmbientBassCreations Perfect! Can you filter out the low end so that its not boomy in the reverb editor? That is my final question!
Thank
I haven't tried editing my own tone print yet but just looking through the settings in the app, there are actions for controlling hi pass filtering and low pass for the sustainer and highs and lows of the reverbs amongst much more like Diffusion for the Reverbs and Modulation Depth and Speed..Theres a crazy amount of ways you can customize all the things this pedal does. You could probably download the Tone Print App yourself and see all the options available
Got mine today, I think it’s the most disappointing new pedal day I’ve ever had. The pedal is glitchy, the drones are unusable. I had such high hopes that this was what I’d been waiting for to provide a more expansive soundscape. Really gutted
Really!??? Are you using it with gain? And is the gain after Infinite? What’s your pedal order? Have you tried it just by itself w/o any other pedals before or after it? Such a bummer to hear that
Every single T.C. Electronics pedal I’ve owned recently fail to work properly usually dying in a couple of weeks. I’ve contacted them and they don’t respond or care. The stuff might sound great at first but it’s so poorly built using the cheapest 3 out of 1 failure rate parts because they know no one can return something if you can’t connect. All part of Behringer group.
Sorry to hear that man. I tried to contact them for another pedal in the past [can’t remember why] and it was a challenge, and it took days for a response. I don’t think their customer support good be better
?
Anything I can help you with?
Is it just me or it doesn't sound nice?
