I think one of my favorite things about this song is actually something that has been there since its debut, but that I waited for the full version before commenting on, in the event that there was something to contradict it upon its full release. The line "We'll be the ones to touch the sun" is a clear reference to the story of Icarus, who, famously, flew too close to the sun and fell down towards the sea and drowning due to the wax holding together his wings melting, dying tragically from his overambition. This line seems to be setting up for a darker volume in the future. This is further supported by the songs arrogant tone, challenging fate (which we, as viewers of a multitude of mediums, know never ends well) and claiming themselves to be gods. It's been theorized that the volumes are representative of the seasons in a year. The first volume was spring, the creation of life and energy, the second volume was summer, the continuation of that energy, the third volume was fall (Even referenced as the "Fall of Beacon"), the season of death and decay, and the fourth volume was winter, the aftermath of fall and the period where nothing really happens (there was a reason volume four felt dead and pointless, and that's because it was meant to feel that way), and all stagnates. It would make sense, then, that, as seasons do, the pattern would repeat itself immediately following its end. This volume, therefore, was spring, much like the first, and the creation of new life in the characters, reigniting their drive, was _very_ noticeable in volume five. Next up, then, would be summer, another build-up of energy and time of adventure. That means that season seven would then be representative of fall, and it is my hypothesis that this will be when team RWBY flies too close to the sun. Thus, while perfectly matching the tone of the current volume; the drive, the energy, this may set up for a further volume with a much different tone. Jeff is a damned genius.

I'm gonna be honest, I'm not a big fan of most of this song, but the chorus keeps me coming back because boy does it reflect the feeling of growing older and recognizing all the stupid mistakes you made along the way. Can't wish away the dismal days can't bring back what is gone, won't waste more tears on yesteryears, instead we'll carry on. Big mood.

It could signify RWBY and JNR starting to move past Pyrrha's death, especially since she believed in destiny. It could also be them realizing and learning that what they're doing goes beyond Pyrrha and Beacon, and changing their course/goals as a result. What do you guys think?
