- Gold Bar Rim continues day 3 (part 3 of the trifecta) of our 2023 Moab adventure out in Utah.
Gold Bar Rim is the last step of the "trifecta" after running Poison Spider and Golden Spike. The only challenging obstacle is the waterfall you have to go up to get to the exit. With half of the rigs we had a winch was necessary to make the climb. 35s with at least one locker would be my recommendation, 2 lockers and 37s would make the waterfall much easier.
There are many beautiful views along this one and caution must be taken if running this as part of the trifecta and not on its own as by this point you'll have already endured a very long, tiring day and we know that makes mistakes much more likely.
As with all the trails here bring plenty of supplies as a breakdown could mean an extended stay on the trail. It is a heavily trafficked route but always best to not rely on anybody being able to help you. Never wheel alone!!

Okay back to business… shew what a long day this was but the views were amazing!!
Absolutely right....about everything but the hat!! Really though, it was a long day and I'd say I would never do it again but that would be a lie. Not many things I'd change about the day but I bet there are a few tweaks that could speed it up a bit.
@@RockSolidRig yes to the hat!! And yes it was a long day but I would definitely do it over again but like you said with a few minor tweaks and changes… I can’t wait to get back to Moab and do some more exploring!
I like this trail didn’t seem like it would be butt pucker city and I think the Gladiator could do most of it. The winch point yeah I’d have to winch I think. I have to add though, I gotta wheel with you. Michael showed me a couple videos of the Moab trip and your spotting was fantastic!
Can't wait, hopefully we'll be headed a few more places before the end of the year.
