Thanks for your video. It seems like every electrical connection on these things is designed to fail. You pinpointed the problem I was having though. Thanks again.
I think you're a magician. I bought a Husqvarna Briggs v-twin used. 180 hours. It ran and mowed a half hour, after I paid $800. I bought a new battery, key switch and solenoid but I found wires cut, that should have been to the lights. I found the conduit on the yard. It behaves dead like yours. It will crank if I short the solenoid terminals, but I don't want to ruin the new solenoid. I don't have a schematic to the yth2348 but I have to find out why the key is dead. The hour meter quit too. :)
Can’t emphasize this enough: The right tool for the right job. I learnt about U-channel crimpers about 30;years ago from the computer repair guy at work. Never had a crimp go bad since. I cringe watching folks use the crimper on a cheapo wire stripper multitool.
I have a yth2348 it won't start I've changed the battery, ignition switch, Solenoid and still nothing im try what u showed any other ideas u can think of?? Thanks Michael
Good find on the open circuit! BUT why in the world would you cut off a locking type & install a non-locker terminal? Just squeeze the female sides down on the OG & put it back in until it locks.
I have a similar electrical issue. My Husky blows fuses as soon as you turn key on. I hooked up test light and determined it goes out of I disconnect the OTHER end of the harness. Using a jumper I can isolate the connection labled 2on the harness white wire goes up under the engine cover and then I have no idea :)
Thank you! So I have this same mower. My battery is fine but I dont have any power in my red wire to my ignition switch and the hour meter won't turn on either. No click when I try to start it but if I put juice to my solenoid, it turns over. Any suggestions??
This may be a silly question, but did you check the fuse? With a test light are you getting power on both sides. Electrical can be a pain sometimes. Take your time with it. I get my butt kicked sometimes and then 3am I'm awake and know exactly what to do.
@@RaleysSmallEngines you know what, it's funny because just before I saw your comment, I checked the fuse and yeah, it's blown!😄 Thank you though for everything!
I got a new engine I have no idea how to rewire the pto toggle switch to the pto and power, switched from kohler to a predator 670, old engine wouldn’t allow me to tur the machine on if the pto was engaged any information woul help me out a lot, thanks let me know
When I turn on the PTO switch I don't hear the click but if I try to leave the seat the mower shuts down as it should. Any idea why the blades are not turning. I checked the clutch wiring with the multimeter and the ohms are within range. It has a new belt. I did notice the lights no longer come on.
I have a 2019 TS142 and the fuse block is under right rear wheel well, behind wheel, directly under and to the right of the battery which is under seat. Manual says fuse block is behind dash...doh!...not always. I also had problems with ignition switch not turning all the way off so I had to replace switch as it was blowing fuse and stopping all power going to mower.
I will do my best. What kind of issues are you having? I just did a video on how a PTO switch works. I will gladly look up your machine and do my best to help you diagnose the problem.
@@RaleysSmallEngines My next door neighbor is an older gentleman. He had a bad PTO switch and ordered another one but cut the wires behind the wiring harness on the PTO switch and he can't remember how to wire it back up. I'm trying to help him out and save him some money. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hey Raley .. just caught one of your Husqvarna videos .. no way in God's Green Earth I'll ever replicate your UA-cam instructions .. but now I'm a "converted Yankee" .. damn! You boys down South have their mechanical stuff together!! ..Meanwhile, I'll keep trying to fix this orange, Swedish, worm-smokin' , biscuit splittin', dung-flingin' lawn tractor ... somehow .. or not .. 2 yrs old, 18 hrs on the engine, new Die Hard battery .. and nothings happening
🤣 You can do it!! Simple things first... Is PTO off? Fully press down brake pedal. Check fuse. Clean battery cables and tighten. Check ground cable at frame, clean and tighten. If none of this works Check out one of my "Just Clicks" videos. Yes, I know yours does nothing but the 2 Just Clicks videos cover a ton of information. Hope this helps you.
Hello I wonder if you or anyone watching can help me with a problem I’m having , I have a Bolens riding mower and I put a new PTO cable on but I was still having the same problem, the PTO will only engage when the deck is in the highest position, does anyone know how the fix this problem, I’d deeply appreciate the help
From my understanding huskavarna and craftsman are very close to the same mowers eltrical wise my Craftsman had a burnt terminal on the key switch plug in
@@RaleysSmallEngines yes it definitely gives me a good starting point on mine I worked in small engine repair for a little while to be sure I didn't messanything up I called my former boss where I worked and he did advise me that the eltric pro can be rN off the battery but said it pulls alot of amps so use at least 12 gage wire in order to do so
The only wire I’m having trouble with is the black one. My mower will be completely dead. I mess with the black one and it fires up. 🤦🏻♀️ Very frustrating.
Thanks for commenting my friend. I have seen the wire broken inside the insulation where you can't see the issue. That can be tested using an ohm meter while moving the wire. Take your time moving the wire in different spots paying close attention to when it works and doesn't.
@@RaleysSmallEngines I have had to get off my tractor and mess with the black wire. 🤣🤣 I just ordered an Ignition switch wire replacement harness. I will definitely put it on when I receive it. I appreciate your video. Confirmed what I figured the problem was.
Have the same mower. Turn key and nothing. New battery and solenoid. Won’t even turn hour gauge on. Gauge does work, tried all part on other mower and it runs. Just not this one.
Good job as always Sir
Brother, I think you solved my problem. Hope to find out this weekend!

Electrical can sometimes appear to be, and sometimes is a very daunting task. This was explained and repaired exceptionally well. Great job my friend!

I agree
TBone William I here. I think this is the video u we’re talking about on my issue with the pto not working

I would say it's more about the education and skill than the tool. You can have the right tool and still do a crummy job, eh? 😁

Check the tensioner arm on the deck to see if it moves freely. Sometimes they can bind from rust or debris.
