    ive got a question with the locking in part im skating a curb on a side walk and for some reason when i slappy my back truck gets on top of the sidewalk and causes me to spin out or the back truck just makes me do a 180. Any reasons? and help wanted please!

    • @eastcoastcurbkiller
      @eastcoastcurbkiller  Місяць тому

      @@justas7021 usually that’s one of two things. Either you are allowing your shoulders to continue rotating after you get up the curb or you keep your weight towards the front of your board even when you get up there (this would cause the back end to go light and overshoot). It could be a little of both so you will kind of have to self diagnose to figure out which thing is causing it.

    This was solid. What if the obstacle is like 1-2 inches higher than the nose of the board though? I built a Slap Pad, identical dimensions to the Keen Ramps one and there’s a pretty good gap between my nose and the round coping.

    • @t3r083
      @t3r083 5 місяців тому +1

      I’m still leaning this but just seemed like I might need to apply a little tail pressure to get up… especially if the obstacle is higher

    • @eastcoastcurbkiller
      @eastcoastcurbkiller  5 місяців тому

      The concept is still the same for sure. On something taller your angle needs to be a little harder. A hard dig into your toes will tilt the nose enough so it will literally slide up the curb. Using your tail will make it more difficult.

    • @eastcoastcurbkiller
      @eastcoastcurbkiller  7 місяців тому

      More towards medium or medium/loose definitely helps. It just allows you to dig more into your toes for this trick and also doesn’t snap back into place too easy while your wheels are gliding up the curb. And thank you!!

      I have figured them out today, hard work, puh! What it finally did for me was your foot positioning plus more toe over the edge specially on the back foot. I ride a wide egg shaped board, so I needed more toe pressure to get the back truck on top. I’m happy as f$ck, can’t wait to learn more slappys. Cheers!

    Is it better to have tighter or looser trucks?

    • @eastcoastcurbkiller
      @eastcoastcurbkiller  10 місяців тому +1

      Looser trucks definitely help you swerve into all of the slappies but I honestly thing that too loose ends up causing issues so I stick to kind of medium tightness. If your trucks are super loose, you won’t snap out of all of the pinched grinds like krooks and everything.

    • @eastcoastcurbkiller
      @eastcoastcurbkiller  Рік тому +2

      That is a head thing. You have to stay toeside with your back toes until everything is fully locked in. You have to trust that the curb will stand you up and that you won’t go over.

    Basicly an axle stall motion on transition

    • @eastcoastcurbkiller
      @eastcoastcurbkiller  Рік тому

      For axle stalls people typically lift a little and set their front truck down on the coping. This is not relying on your back truck to get you up the curb

      So my sweet spot for wheels for curb skating seems to be the 53mm bones x formula in the v1 shape. The v1 is just rounded enough to help you glide up the curb but square enough that you stay locked in if that makes sense. I’m on the 97a durometer but I wanna try the 99a version soon

    nice. whenever i try them i end up doing the weird feeble and get smoked. can't get them fs either, but i can kinda whip a bs 180 into an axle stall/mini nose grind without popping. i guess i always thought of it more like the motion of riding up a curb, where you shift weight to the tail then nose rather than toeside/heelside. got my first bs crook on video if you care to check it out, just getting back out there at 40 and shaking off the rust.

    • @eastcoastcurbkiller
