Waiting for Slappy Low, Inverted Kingpin Hollow Lights.......
make those black color, a high top with a wide toe base and they won a loyal customer
@@hygiverse they have black with black gum and black with white gum. And the toe box is pretty roomy!
I always cone my front toe side wheel first/most too, but I’m regular footed
NS backlip was so sick! Hope these come to Australia
@@LBJ-85 thank you!!
Im getting my low profile trucks today and i wanted to put my Acer kingpins in them.does the standard cone right out or do you have to hammer them out
@@donalddavis2956 you’d have to hammer the kingpin out. The ace kingpins will most likely be too long for these trucks fyi
@@eastcoastcurbkiller I have the hollows inverted from my other Slappy's those should work right
@@donalddavis2956 those will not work. They are also too long. These low profiles have much shorter kingpins in order to make sure that there is good grind clearance. If you use a normal inverted kingpin you won’t be able to tighten it enough without hitting your deck. Inverted pins for the low profiles should be dropping soon
😂 Jaime Thomas's Welcome to hell part was on my feed suggestions just above this !😂
@@taitsmith8521 hahaha so sick
🤙🏼
@@ChongcoSk88 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Would be rad to see an update on the set up! I always like how people tweak their set up
@@jimmyvieraart a setup update is comin soon! I have a shape coming out for Pan Dulce skateboards so I wanted to wait until I got my hands on the first one
Welcome to Hell 👍
It’s a fiberglass laminate ply. Not carbon fiber
Very detailed and insightful review video. Always impressed by your knowledge of your set up and gear.
Those shoes are clean
@@vandieselcuuuz love em bro!
Is the fit true to size?
@@restr103 yes most definitely!
I’d love to see skate culture move away from all the corporate brands and start supporting skater owned companies again.
@@Nateashnine me too!!
What is the impact protection like? I just bought a pair of Gilbert Crockett's, and the pop-cush insoles are good, but these look inviting!
@@erkoons these protect my feet better than vans. Took some hard primos and barely felt it!
These look eh 🤷
Man, your pants so much style
@@pride5896 haha thanks bro! Straight from Walmart lol
@@eastcoastcurbkiller hahahah nice bro
@@pride5896 haha they are sick though. Levi’s carpenter pants. I think it’s the workwear collection
@@eastcoastcurbkiller Unfortunately, we don't have brands with good cuts and low prices here in Brazil.
I'm curious about the fit. My foot's not super wide but shoes like the last resort fit pretty tight how do these compare? I've already ordered the chapter in the low so it doesn't really matter at this point but I'm curious.
@@likespinningpats the fit feels a little more roomy in the toe box than last resort. Very comfy and doesn’t smush your toes
Mine are on the way and the reason I ordered them was because the insole looks well thought out not just a random piece of crap thrown in there. Glad to hear these are high quality and comfortable.
Andy skates 97a dragons which are 97a x-formula? lol, Powell came out with like 5 different formulas and 20 different wheel shapes just to fight one wheel on the market - The Spitfire Formula Four = The Best & I was a Bones guy before
@@davidleeashkenazi8992 if truth be told the bones x99 and 97a nano rats do everything better than the formula fours. And I was a diehard formula four guy.
@@eastcoastcurbkiller okay, I'll wait for your review (or is it out yet?) Talking Powell/Bones honestly STF's 83b still feels amazing to me *especially for park skating, yeah - better than SPF's 84b and definitely the 81b which are just hot garbage imo. I really hate to be that "This is THE BEST!״ guy, but I just can't find anything wrong with my 99a Formula Four Spits, they just work ya' know...
Just buy them ! I have the same ones so much cushion !
@@angelhasadeathwish that’s something I was really surprised about! Lots of cushion for a vulc!
@@eastcoastcurbkiller yup and I need all the mm of paddling these days it’s not just cardboard under the insoles which are noticeably thicker than most for that price these days it has at least 2 more mm of padding under the insoles so much and. Nothing but good things about the shoes !
Cool shoe and thanks for posting a review. I'm interested in one as well, do you think these are up to par with Common Projects sneaker quality?
just set up my andy anderson flight symmetrical egg last night. 2nd one. i sanded the graphic off, stained it with a homemade stain I made out of raspberries, then spray painted misfits skulls all over it, clear coated it and gripped and set it up last night. put some Creature bonesaw rails. a real halloween vibe!!!
@@dneck haha man that’s so rad!! Always love hearing about creative setup builds like that!
Thanks for sharing, was waiting to hear how they skate, bought a pair this morning because of your review!
@@smbeidler man that’s awesome!! Hope you like em bro!
same price as a "Nike Sb Dunk" $109 retail is Insane Business model. Your gonna have to much comp at that price. Etnies Joslin In by far one of the best shoes in Skateboarding all around. Or the NB line up all of them are good. This shoe looks like direct copy of the Emerica Winkowski. Just honesty. Not hate. The new balance Villani looks like a better purchase the "sole" and the price.
@@TRAVIESO_NA these are the polar opposite of any emerica. The quality of materials are for sure better than anything soltech is putting out. And the villanis tend to mush out and lose form whereas these do not. Also the materials are significantly better on these than any of the other mentioned shoes. Build quality is top notch and is leading to great durability and skatability.
Yes but apparently hes pushing these as more of a luxury brand rather than actual skate shoes.
@@eastcoastcurbkiller interesting. 🤨 hope they build a hype. Hopefully 🤞 quality over marketing. U convinced me to try a pair
@@TRAVIESO_NA think about it this way…the Nike sb janoski is $95 and the blazer mid is $90. These are made way better than both in my opinion and are not much more. I think you’ll like em brother!
Never understood how people skate in $100 shoes, haha. 😅
shout out to skating two truck brands lol The ventures are perfect for ledges, and those curb tricks looked nice on I think were ACE? classics or slappy trucks.
@@TRAVIESO_NA haha yeah I’m skating the venture v8’s on my normal board and am using the new holes to push the wheelbase in. And I’m using slappy lows on my curb board
@@eastcoastcurbkiller slappy lows. That’s what they were looking for good.
tread looks like its going to be a rock catcher like the es quattro.
@@32srt32 I talk about this in the video as well. It’s actually the complete opposite and hasn’t caught any.
The audio on this is insanely good
Are you ex military

@@LbcNunez-tm1ld yes I am
@@eastcoastcurbkillerthank you for your service sir. Also thank you for shredding and sharing your knowledge with us

Yes the 440 v2 is a special shoe indeed. Also on my pedestal. Looking for to checking these out in the low
@@Vondoobie absolutely love those…I think I’ve had 6 pairs since they dropped lol
Thanks for reviewing these! Ordered mine waiting for the box now!
@@Ernie_Creates no problem bro! Great shoes for sure!!
Been waiting for someone to review these
@@bfmchalfdead9804 thanks for watching bro!
Very insightful! I’m always amazed at how much you know about the is and outs of your set ups and gear.
@@officialmilitaryskate haha I’m a skate nerd for sure. Love ya bro and thank you so much for everything!!
I think it’s called lasting board
I love a good insole, I’ll keep them and put them in the next pair. I usually double insoles in skate shoes unless they’re thick like pop cush
I like a really well-worn shoe, like almost falling off my feet. I like a stiff/substantial shoe for how they skate when they wear away. I don’t really necessarily even want a shoe to skate well brand new bc it makes me feel like they won’t last
The etnies screw mid vulcs were nice, didn’t bag out. They’re like etnies take on a half cab but not as stiff/substantial, but in a good way. They have an etnies x Santa Cruz model that look kinda crazy but I’d rock them 😭
I’m not really a white shoe guy, except maybe adidas shell toes, but they look fresh.
@@diplenski these look so sick in the cream color for sure!!
Try white reebok club c85 with super glue on the toe area. Shredded around 15 white pairs since 2013. Also had black ones and suede versions. Gum soles on suede reeboks skate better but white leather ones work like heaven
what size wheels are you riding? are you using razers?
@@brunoiskovich3459 I’m currently on 52’s but I’ve rode them with 54’s and had zero issues. And no risers
Spitfire Radial slims are the best. Ive got one set left but because they seem determined to not give them back to us I've started to experiment with some bones wheels. The v1 x-99 is going good but also want to try a 97 v5....i think that shape could be the closest to the radial slims. Been a spitfire fan for years but if they dont make my favourite wheel any more what am i to do but switch
Man I definitely miss that shape a lot. It was really good for everything
Got the low profiles a little ago and I love them so far!
I see you were at mckoy skate park I live atl too I would love to skate one day it would cool af I’m new to your channel definitely subscribing
@@Drunksk8ters yeah man I’m there a good bit around 4:00 or 4:30. If you see me come say hey!
I wish Mike would bring back Out of Bounds
wow that is amazing
@@razz2135 haha pretty simple with the tool!!
skating whent a long way over the years with all the trucks being hollow, special kind of tools and impact light boards. skater are some of the smartest people out their, always expanding new envetions to make better stuff, its all business now seems like but still fun
@@eastcoastcurbkiller iy makes skating muh more easier
If you drilled new bolt holes you are defeating the purpose of reviewing the board. The change in wheelbase on the new boards is one of the major new features of them.
@@idmhead0160 no I’m not? The wheelbase on their 8.25 hasn’t changed from the old mold to the new mold. It’s always been the same. What’s changed is concave and steepness of the kicks.
@@eastcoastcurbkiller The wheelbase changed on some of the sizes. For example, the 8.75 used to have a 15" wheelbase and is now 14.5. The review is fine. Just saying, most people aren't going to redrill and change their wheelbase. At that point, just get a different deck or adjust to what it is.
@@idmhead0160 tons of people do this so you are definitely not speaking for “most people”. And if you like a mold because of steepness or whatever but don’t like the wheelbase this is an option. People can do whatever they want with their boards.
Bring back low trucks again
Hey Robbie - just got home from learning (sketchy) fs slappy 50s and I wanted to thank you for something you said in this vid… “you gotta let the curb lift you up.” That really unlocked it for me. It was incredibly weird just riding straight into the curb without ollieing, but I kept repeating your advice in my head until I started to get it. Thank you, brother! 😄
@@sheateeley1 man that’s so awesome!! That was the thing that helped it click in my head. Nobody ever told me that and then a lightbulb went off one day lol
I wish they would do a heron egg blank. Love the shape and the graphic but would be nice not to pay that much for a new deck every time.
@@matth268 yeah they are rad but it’s a lot of money lol
I love flight decks man. The pop stays so good. I skate the AA Heron 2 Egg (symmetrical) mainly but I wish Powell would make symmetrical Flight decks (8.5-8.75")
@@frankrotthier4392 I completely agree! I think they would sell really well!
@@eastcoastcurbkiller yes indeed!
