i've got to be honest, i've been rocking with carti since about 2015 and besides his first few mixtapes as $ir Cartier he didnt even have a mixtape to his name despite getting a lot of hype for his song Broke Boi , there was no mixtape only singles until Magnolia and he finally drop Self-Titled.. he was still somewhat around in the mixtape website era and his only mixtape from the 2014-2017 is a fan made compilation album of almost all of his soundclound singles and features. he's continued to do that and each time as we know he's came differently. i agree that he's capitalizing on starving fans for new music and the mystery of how he's gonna evolve now and execute

Sounds like glazing but the aura factor is real if the music is also very catchy. I’ve been a fan since 2016, and it’s been there. He hung with Ian Connor, ASAP and the aesthetic worked.
Charisma is a real thing. Actors like Brad Pitt, Leo had it. Lana del Rey. Michael Jackson - people used to faint as if he wasn’t human. It’s the ‘IT’ factor and it needs to come off naturally.
Chief keef had that vibe in 2012, he had lots of clones. ASAP Rocky had it as well but it’s not as intense for both anymore. What’s makes Carti different is that he maintained that charisma for a long time as a rapper.

I can’t really relate because I didn’t get into carti till pretty recently, but I can tell you in regards to Yeat I have very similar feelings. I’ve told a lot of people that I think Yeat’s 2021-2022 run was one of the best we’ve seen in rap in a while because every single song he dropped during that era was at least good if not amazing. Now, Yeat’s music is very low-energy and almost sleepy 😂 and I don’t mess with his new music now at all except for a very select few of songs but his Up 2 Me album is timeless to me so regardless of what he does now I will always enjoy that album on top of Alive, 4L and 2 Alive

Drake was never really appealing to me, I agree with trav but for me personally i listen to tyler a bit more, maybe trav is over uzi rn, but we'll see in some months depending on how their new albums will age

A lot of artists today are rated by their hit rate, so let’s say they drop 5 songs a year and they’re all good thats a perfect hit rate but if u drop 20 songs and 11 are good thats still a good hit rate but it’s not perfect.
