New guinea rose wood, neg guinea black beam, tasmanian cherry, 60 pieces of timber for wheel, and removable brush This carder is a very impressive gift.
Can you make me one ? Pretty Please with a cherry on the top It's absolutely beautiful, you did a fantastic job as it's better looking than the really expensive ones you can buy
G'day ginnie jo, many thanks for your interest and kind comments, the project was a "once only" and was a labour of love for our daughter taking about 3 months of my time part time. You are welcome to copy the design although it is essentially typical of that type of carder, enjoy the journey. Best wishes, GM
Would you mind telling what you used for the drums? Did you buy them premade? Are they solid wood all the way from one side to the next? How did you get them so perfectly round? Thanks for the video.
I made the drums rather like barrels with a disk at either end then 6mm thick strips around the circumference like staves of a barrel. The wire hooked outside is called carding mat and I purchased it from a supplier in Europe whose name I no longer have. I hope that is of help to you.
G'day Howard, thanks for your interest. I made it as a "one off" for our daughter so no plans but please feel free to copy what you wish from watching the video.
Hi Sikander, thank you for your interest but I made this unit as a "one off" gift for our daughter so as it is the only one it isn't for sale and as I designed it there are no plans. Again thanks for your interest.
G'day Hong Man, I am not able to help you with your request, I made this one for my daughter and although designing and building it was a pleasure it was a "once off" project only.
