What's most impressive is that Steven didn't change due to some external influence. He wasn't arrested or expelled or threatened with violence and got a wake up call. He just thought about his actions long enough and decided he was going to clean up his graffiti, apologize to Nancy, and distance himself from his awful friends.
Exactly. This was the moment I started liking Steve, even though the damage had been done I’m glad that he still owned up to it and did what he could to fix his mistake. On top of that he continued to be better instead of falling back into bad habits, he didn’t pull anything we’d see on Bojack Horseman.

@@Yamyamyamyamaymayam I think that it's obvious that when you say "Germans" wanted to be "superior race" you mean the darkest time in the history of that country when nazis ruled.

Steve is probably my favorite character. He's got one of the most human and relatable arcs, starting as kind of an asshole, but by the end of the first season, he's proven to be a much better and more selfless person than anyone knew, putting himself in harm's way time and time again for the people he cares about, which is everyone. He is often seen as a loveable doofus, but when the chips are down he's one of the most valuable members of the group. What he lacks in brains he makes up with his good heart. He's also one of the best fighters among the group, and he has a great talent for taking a beating, but not being beaten. He can take and endure more punishment than anyone save maybe Hopper, yet can still get up and continue fighting, and he always sees the mission through.

Russian: who do you work for?
Steve: scoops,scoops ahoy
So true fr
He went from being a bully to being the best mom in the show now that's how you should do character development
