Hi, Ive got the early 2023 Tourneo Custom Sport automatic which is basically a trimmed transit with removable seats, in essence its 3 vehicles in one, minibus, camper, or van, with seats out its light, quiet and economical, easy to convert back to 5 or 7 seater, I can actually sleep across the width behind the drivers seat and my 4 dogs can sleep in the rear, I use 4 crates as my bed base which are filled with camping gear and food, rear aircon for the dogs or people on hot days, without doubt the best car Ive ever owned, I am a aficionado of RR's but I need useable space not empty seats. Enjoy👍
As a previous owner I bought my double cab MSRT new and had it 3 years. You have to be prepared for repairs to the body kit and they are costly, mine went through 2 front bumpers plus a set of skirts and they are thousands to buy. If you get any damage to the front bumper it’s one piece circa 2k supplied and fitted. Front tyres 8-10,000 miles max, it was a great van but not cheap.
Good video and understand why you did that change. the trouble with selling a top spec SUV is looking at the others on the road when you've sold yours. I've had a Lwb 6.1 204 bhp transporter, lowered, sound proofed etc. The best motor I've owned. Dream would be 5 motors on the drive, one for each job.😊
Never been into fans but I drove a new transporter about 3 years ago and since then I've had a soft spot for them. You should upgrade the sound system especially coming from a Range Rover especially on a long journeys
We have a 2022 range rover sport Hse and 3 transit sport van I only use the van as my crew cab van has just 2 seats in front and its way more comfortable than the range rover drives better and it's the only vehicle I need in my life ILOVE IT
I absolutely love the ford transit they are so versatile and just work with whatever you want to do, I hope you enjoy it, as for side steps I always find they get in the way rather aid entry and exit. I’ve never owned a Range Rover and they are lovely looking vehicles but I get the impression they’re not so easy to live with.
We did a similar thing. We bought a 6 seater Fiat Talento lwb onyx edition brand new during the pandemc with all the toys already fitted including alloys, side runner bars, sat nav, android, cruise, air con etc. for £25 k including vat. Spent an extra £18400 on a full professional conversion to my exact specification and we have a wonderful luxury campervan now. A much better campervan than a california, with more engine power, a wider and better rib bed, more storage, better fridge etc. etc. and for much less money.
Nice choose I did the same had a 2018 night edition c220d estate and with twin girls and 2 dogs is was a struggle so I upgraded to a 2019 Marco Polo sport horizon
My work have Transit Custom. Love it! More space and comfort. Way better than VW Caddy Maxi. Extremely light on Diesel. Would love to own one. You made a brilliant choice!
Ive got the msrt on a 18plate lwb. With only 39k on clock and ive had the wet belt replaced as had the dreaded rattle. Replaced before it failed. Good vans. Bit bumpy but just put some weight in the rear and its fine. Mine does 25mpg.
Transit all day over the range, there 2 a penny everyman and his dog whos gota bit of dollar has one. We counted how many ranges was on a massive carpark , we found 1 porsche cayenne and macan and 42 ranges
Hi, I’m looking at one of these, if you don’t mind me asking how do you insure these, do insurance companies recognise them being a MSRT? Or do you have to individually list the modifications or do some insurance companies specialise in these vans thank you
We have the best of both kept the the Range Rover but have the Vito as well and in all honesty the van gets used a lot more than the Range Rover but it’s nice to take the Range out as it’s the v8
Been looking at these as well, i need to replace my Land-rover Disco sport. These look awesome and are super practical. Do you know what the cost for a full tank of diesel is on these, and roughly how many miles would you get?
That’s a very Different vehicle from a Range Rover 😊 good video 👍 I’ve owned vans all my life including the transit you now have ! The Bouncy ride made me sell it ! Buy a transporter 204bhp it’s much more Range Rover like 👍
How did you find the transition? Also how did your kids take the transition? I've decided to switch to the new Ford Transit Custom MS-RT from a Mercedes EQC, my daughter especially isn't happy at all 😂 I do school runs and take 2 dogs to work, even the SUV's just aren't big enough. Their boots are carpeted and end up stinking of dog, a van will be so much better!
Stick a tent box on the top mate and come see me at the Helix car park in Scotland(I work there). You'll love it, ten pounds to park and the toilets are open all night. Look at pictures of the Kelpies at night if you need an incentive to visit.
I did not think much of the Range Rover for that price you dont even get buttons in the Cockpit, Cant imagine anything more annoying than taking your eyes off the road for a 10-pound cheap LCD Display. The Ford Excellent.
Will Rust out if you keep the transit too long. Range Rover I have one would not part with it, now series 4 3 litre Diesel 10 years old 118000KM here in New Zealand. Only issue rear tailgate sometimes will not close itself. People knock always quick to knock them are usually those never owned one and listen to hearsay. If you cannot afford to maintain them properly dont buy one. used to buy 5 transits a year when in UK business, good service from them easy to maintain but rust rust rust
@@Challengetheroad I have worn out knees and I can get in a Range Rover or a Land Rover Defender without sidesteps but I can't get in with the dam sidesteps fitted
It seems you bought the Range Rover without seeing it?….. boot much to small…. Not a fan of the Apple play and display system…. Prefer discreet buttons🤔
Loved it, Really interesting points on both sides however...... you know im going to side with the van 🤣😉🤫

just seen your video,, Very good & YES the van is the best way to goo

I noticed not much life on front tyres - I have changed to new michelins and 255/50/18 - much better ride now and should be much longer tread life.
did you have any problems regards wet timing belt? I've heard they can cause serious issues on ecoblue engines
Nothing so far and 6 months in now
Practically you’re gonna get so much more out of the MS-RT - definitely a ‘lifestyle vehicle’ 👍
Sold my RS4 for one. Absolutely love it. Motorbike fits in the back along with full camping kit and MTB's. Mega.
Did exactly the same, the RS was haemorrhaging cash and this Transit is mega.

Thank you, if only the RR worked - so frustrating to own as they look great

Thanks Steve, I need to look at these, sounds great
brilliant that its a key start. definitely think key is still better than keyless.
Nice choose I did the same had a 2018 night edition c220d estate and with twin girls and 2 dogs is was a struggle so I upgraded to a 2019 Marco Polo sport horizon
I love the transit they look so mean when you see them on the road
It can be a van and a lifestyle vehicle. It's remarkable seeing the footprint next to the RR, even the height being so similar.
I'd sell a range rover and buy a transit any day of the week. I worked for JLR and know what the build quality is like...
Is it that bad ?
My work have Transit Custom. Love it! More space and comfort. Way better than VW Caddy Maxi. Extremely light on Diesel. Would love to own one. You made a brilliant choice!
Thanks Matthew, just started our first modifications too, will do an update video soon
I love the msrt but they got to bring it to north America. But I definitely would take the center divider out
😮The van is such a great beauty 🎉🎉

I just changed the tyre sizes and the ride is so much better now 🙌
@Challengetheroad what sizes you running on now?

Out of the frying pan and into the fire ❤❤❤❤
I know what am I doing 🤣 its gone ok so far though
Been looking at these as well, i need to replace my Land-rover Disco sport. These look awesome and are super practical. Do you know what the cost for a full tank of diesel is on these, and roughly how many miles would you get?
I managed to get 1100km on full tank on 2.2 Custom manual.
DPFs are a nightmare on the Custom.

One liked the Van one didn’t 🤣
I did struggle with room in SUVs too
@@Challengetheroad my son isn't fussed. You'd think I'll be doing the school run in a milk wagon the way my daughters reacted. She'll get used to it 😅

Will have a look John, I have been looking at the full camper ones last week 🙌
It’s always a good decision to sell a Range Rover, unless you like spending thousands on repairs
Jump on the bandwagon rich

Kufatech Germany manufacture the exhaust sound system for the MS-RT and many other vehicles 👍

Transit MS-RT Built in Pontypool👍
Nothing wrong with a diesel Van!!
Still got it! full review soon
Why charging point at the front revers parking is the correct way
hi Alan, it was the way I had the charges at home and we always parked that way. A bit lazy I know 🤣
All depends if your trying to impress someone....van any day
Well done
Good move
you still got the van? still any good?
Still got the Van and the Taycan now - the ride on the Van can be a bit choppy but otherwise all been very good
Have you still got the Transit?
Any issues
I sold it a while ago now - I had no problem at all in 10k miles
@@Challengetheroad so you didn't like it then
First World problems, now in my 60's I just find this conspicuous consumption vulgar.
Admittedly I too have desired and owned such vehicles.
This generation of transit with the ecoblue engine don't have the best reputation for reliability...
Don’t go for the fake exhaust go for a proper stainless system
GOOD MOVE
BIG DEAL
Wet belt engine might make 80000 miles if your lucky 😂
RR for me time will tell good luck
New video update soon - very interesting after 4 months in the Van now
I sold my Rolls Royce and brought a lada....
You got an aston martin mate...why didnt you say 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣
I can understand why you bought one but don't be surprised if your doctor calls you up for a check up after he found out what you did haha
It’s a practical thing - what else can you carry 4 sets of golf clubs, fishing gear, bikes etc…? - plus sleep in the back of it! 😊
Sidesteps are a bad thing in my opinion
My knee took 6 months to heal up! I whacked it on the dash getting in too fast.
@@Challengetheroad I have worn out knees and I can get in a Range Rover or a Land Rover Defender without sidesteps but I can't get in with the dam sidesteps fitted
how many times can say "my Aston Martin" with out the video being about the car
Quite a few 🤣
The Ford van will probably not break down as much as the Range Rover.
No Faults so far and the media is so easy 🙌
I would wrap the van in McLaren P1 yellow! 😁
The question is would it get 2 bikes to bike park wales? 😂
I have the lwb and 6 bikes in no problem
Problem will be van theft, don’t leave it anywhere.
Surprise Surprise Range Rover electronic issues 😂
So frustrating, as so close to a great car!
@@Challengetheroad Been there had one and never again .

I had a Range Rover before this one 👍
2.0 wet belt engine Is the worst engine Ford ever fitted in a transit
What is a wet belt engine , that bad ??
Both are very unreliable forms of transport. Good luck
apart from space and up to date infotainment, the rest is horrid compared to the rr. completely stupid comparison
Hands down the worst vehicle review/comparison ever done. Ridiculous.
Thanks
So from one pile of crap to another pile of crap
🤣
