  • Today I'm test riding and giving you a detailed review of the 2022 Harley Davidson Street Glide Special with the Milwaukee-Eight 114 engine. Blacked-out looks, plenty of power, and a comfortable ride make this motorcycle a beast to contend with.

    I put about 60 miles one last couple days at my dealerships demo days event since I was a volunteer. The machine was great, my only issue was as a tall rider at 6' 4" it was a little awkward getting front brake and shifter. I also felt a little cramped but nothing apes wouldn't fix.

    • @MOTOBLADE
      @MOTOBLADE  Рік тому +1

      I believe Harley also has an extended reach seat for it. But if they don't, I know Saddlemen does. So that seat and some apes will give you the extra room you need.

    Hey Motoblade, Doug here with an update-body weight has settled on at 285lbs on my 5ft 8 or 9in frame(way better than 351lbs!) The Street Glide has caught my eye as of late. Your review of it was well put together. I'm considering the "Standard" model, not the "special". The 107ci is plenty big, and, enough HP to move my "Tex-@$$" sized back porch! Hope to catch your next review real soon! Doug🏍️🤓😇👍🐻😁🤭

    For what the HD sells for it should be a great bike , I really enjoy my CVO Street Glide with the 131 upgrade

    • @MOTOBLADE
      @MOTOBLADE  2 роки тому

      The CVO's are beautiful bikes. And the 131 engine is amazing. I love Indians new 116. But the 131 just feels so freaking powerful. I should do a video on a bike with that engine.

    Great review. How do you feel thesteering compared with the RGS. Looking to bet one, not sure which one due to the difference of the fearing set up.

    • @MOTOBLADE
      @MOTOBLADE  Рік тому

      I like the steering on the RGS slightly better, as it feels lighter, since the fairing is mounted to the frame on the RGS vs mounted to the fork on the SGS. I have a full review on the new RGS that you may find helpful to watch as well. Both are great, I would give slight preference to the RGS, just my opinion. Hope that helps!

    I noticed a flashing orange light in the rev counter, was that an abs warning light? And if so, why is it flashing?

    It comes in chrome trim as well. You said it has LED signals, but not from the factory, only the Headlight is LED. I would suggest that you do a stage 3 or stage 4, since you like running in lower gears and turning those higher rpm’s. Harley-Davidson’s aren’t know to be a high reviving bike in stock form. They redline about 5.500, or 6.500 RPM

    I'm 5'8, 215 and have a question about buffeting. I read constantly that the SG above 65mpg produces some strong buffeting, particularly when wearing a full face helmet. What was your experience? Thanks for the review!

    • @MOTOBLADE
      @MOTOBLADE  2 роки тому

      Above 65 I got a little. Emphasis on little. However, if you replace the shorty windshield with a taller one (klockwerks makes nice ones that have a ridge at the top to flip the wind up and over you) that would be the way to go if you were worried about buffetting. It's a 3 minute windshield swap and you can get any height you need to make it work for you and your helmet height.
      Hope that helps!

      I'm 6 foot 210 and I do get some buffing at highway speeds. All the info I am finding on it is upgrading to a 7in the windshield, so gunna try that here in a couple weeks.

    How come some street glide specials come with tire sensors and some do not?

  • @barrybarnes96
    @barrybarnes96 Рік тому +1

    How you can talk about comfort and not talk about how plush or stiff suspension is is beyond me. Slammed suspension and lower profile tires on Street Glide Special means relatively harder non-comfortable ride. Some mention of the rake and trail on the Street Glide front end would be welcome when talking about handling as those are the important parameters along with tire dimensions.

    Is your vision above the windshield or in line with it or do you see through it at any given time ?

    • @MOTOBLADE
      @MOTOBLADE  Рік тому +1

      My vision was above it at all times. I'm short, but my camera is mounted on the chin of my helmet so the view in the video is just a little low.

    Now, you have ridden both HD and Indian which do you like better? With the Indian not having as many dealerships for service as HD. Does that concern you or sway your opinion?

    • @MOTOBLADE
      @MOTOBLADE  Рік тому +1

      I own an Indian and a Harley. Indian wins. Not even close. Better design, quality, power, handling. I enjoy both but the Indian wins no contest. I've had to do more maintenance in fewer miles on the harley than I have on the Indian too.

    Cuánto combustible te gasto en la prueba, es real a la ficha técnica o consume menos litros cada 100km. Mi Street Bob del 2021 pone en la ficha técnica que hasta 5,5 litros x 100km pero me gasta entre 4,5 y 4,7. Gracias desde España
