I saw this model parked today at HelmetCenter, spoke with the gentleman who had recently acquired it, and damn near may have become a Harley convert. The bike was absolutely stunning. It looked showroom new with 10K miles, and the dude was a good down to earth ambassador for his chosen brand. Also, when I came out of the store there was a Harley support bike for the Motorcycle Cannonball Run ridden by an RN Emergency Responder......very cool.
Boy Florida has some funny looking yield signs. They look a lot like a stop sign hahaha
This is one the best reviews I have seen on you tube, with regards to a street glide Special. Well done mate really informative 👍
Great Review! this really helped me make a final decision to purchase.
"If you get caught in a storm (rain), you are better off with a street glide" - great tip for long trips.
Bars are a little closer on a batwing but you can feel the weight of fairing. Everything is much more compact. Lots more room, better wind deflection(with storage)and no fairing weight on a RoadGlide. Clutch, either brake pedal/lever and rolling the throttle forward cancels the EITMS too. It's all a matter of taste and what fits/suits the individual for sure. Just my opinion, of course. Glad you gave a short ride impression of both bikes. Ride safe!
Thanks, especially for the detail in comments, providing information I haven’t heard of before.
I have the same bike in 2016 and learned a couple things. Thanks...
I replaced with Klock Werks flare windshield on '17 CVO Street Glide and took care of head buffing problem completely.
Thanks for the video just got a 18 street glide
I know this is a biased review as you are HD however it’s so informative. I knew most of the things you spoke of and learnt more.
Great review. Thank you. I’m interested 👍
samuraidarryl I wouldn't say it's biased, the point of these reviews is to give information not my opinion. I honestly have nothing negative to say about most motorcycles I ride including metric bikes, so many people look for so many different things in a motorcycle so I try to avoid be opinionated although I am sometimes, My channel isn't linked to my job. It's all mine so I could talk about negatives and positives I just choose not too, and to be honest some of the reason is of course to avoid conflict at work but I would never intentionally steer anyone in the wrong direction. I'm not a salesmen ;) lol
I just got back from riding a 2017 Street Glide across America. Im over 6 foot and i replaced the smaller screen for an Ultra's bigger one and had no trouble with buffering
Great review
Great Video !!!
Great videos very informative. I'm looking at either a SGS or CVO SG. Did I hear you correctly that you install / add the docking hardware for free? That's worth the drive from Orlando.
Love your channel. Really intetested in the cvo! Cant decide wether to go with special and up upgrade to stage 3 or go broke on the cvo. Please review the cvo. That gun metal is the pretiest bike ive ever seen!
Joel Combs thank you I really appreciate that! And trust me as soon as I get one I'll be doing a review on it. And that would be a tough choice because that new industrial grey is an awesome color! Either way I'm sure you'd be happy!
Great review!!! Kenny don't look to ambitious. Moves pretty dam slow
Man I would love to get the special but I like the sport as well.
Dang that is a slick looking ride right there might have sold me on getting a 2018 street glide of my own
Jax I hope you're good and the family .
I’m an aggressive rider coming from a Dyna. I prefer the street glide over the road glide but I am 5’7” but I also rode nearly every bike Harley has to offer and the only bike I 100% would trade my street bob for is the street glide.
I bought the '17 roadglide ultra, I believe you said in this video that '14 and newer you could go wireless with the headset, correct me if I'm wrong but I thought HD cut out the cord beginning with the '18 yr models, if their is a way to cut the cord with the 17's please advise. Thanks for the info.
Hey jax when are you expected to get the new sport glide so you can review that
dope harley👍
I love my street glide but even with a taller shield the buffeting is rough
How's street glide feel ? I wanna try harley big bagger , how's the handling ? Etc thanks.
I can't wait...only another 20 years until I can buy one for $15,000. In all seriousness; the 2018 street glide smashes every expectation I had and it's a shame I'll never buy one.
What was the flashing yellow light on the speedometer? It flashed the whole time you rode and appeared to go solid when you made it back into the dealership. Your review of the Gun Deck Grey CVO had the same thing.
hogwylde its the abs light it doesn’t blink when you’re looking at it only for the camera
Great Review. I need to test a new one out. I have a 2015 Electra Glide and I am thinking about getting a new one with Millwaulkee 8. I want to go to a bike that is not so top heavy and easier to handle in tight quarters. Street Glide Special or Road Glide Special?
thanks! check out my video comparing the two if you havent gotten the chance to watch it yet, the M8 motor is awesome and I know if you ride one you'll fall in love for sure ha. I prefer the road glide over the street glide personally but i always recommend riding both if you are a bit conflicted.
Hey Jax how is the street glide for shorter guys 5’5”- 5’7” I take it you would need to change the seat to be flat footed as a shorter guy? AWSOME. Reviews

I've seen a bunch of people buy and ride Road Glides and Street Glides at you Height, the Road Glide seat height in actually a little lower than the SG's but they do make reduced reach seats and lower shocks for them as well, A coworker here who is the same height as you are put air ride in the rear of his SG so he just airs down when cruising and airs up on the highway so that is an option too. But their are plenty of options out there to make sure you get fitted properly to the bike you like, if the White Road Glide speaks to you my friend then make it happen. I sold a RGU to a guy who was 5'3" and put burly brand slammers on the back and he loves it. so you have options! hope that helped! and yes my camera sits right on my chin
Hi, I have a couple of questions. I'm 5.9 (so not a tall rider) and was wondering what highway peg you would recommend for my height. Short or long angled-adjustable-highway-peg. Also are the foot pegs on the 2018 CVOs called "Airflow"?
I'm looking at trading in my 2016 SG special for the new 2018 CVO SG.....love the Gunship Grey. Great reviews by the way! Cheers...
Yes, you are correct. The footpegs are the Airflow line and personally I find that highway pegs are purely personal preference, I've seen guys at your height run both so I'd hate to recommend a set to you and you not like them. I'd recommend going into the dealership and hoping on a bike that may have them new or used just to feel the fit. Thank you as well!!
Fast-Action Jax thanks for quick response mate, really appreciate it. Cheers...
Quick question for you on a 2015 sgs the seller lowered it 1”. How would this change it compared to the normal height? Thanks in advance! Enjoy your channel sir!
don winburn
You wouldn't notice too much of a difference in handling but you probably would get a little more scrap around corners. Now if you are a performance guy and have done a lot of aggressive rising on a street glide you'd probably notice a slight difference since your slightly changing the rake by lowering the rear but for normal around town riding, not one bit
Fast-Action Jax thank you for the reply! Like your channel! I decided to purchase the 2018 heritage classic after yours and Matt laidlaws review videos! You were on point with the review. Btw my first harley
don winburn
Hell yeah, congratulations on the new purchase! I actually love the new heritage classic, everytime we get one of the silver fortune ones of the truck I have to wipe all the drool off of it, what color did you get? 107 or 114?
Fast-Action Jax thank you sir! I got vivid Black with the 107. Can’t be more happier with it. Thanks for what you do!
I’m 5’11 and had unbearable wind buffeting. I was wearing a half helmet. Would that 7” windshield with the lip fix that or a different helmet?
jmitch162 klock werks makes a flip up 10" windshield if I remember correctly that's still dark smoke and looks great and definitely knocks the buffeting down
Fast-Action Jax thanks but I finally made the decision. Going with the Road Glide Special. Can’t wait.
Harleys are fine bikes but a new Chieftain DH is so much more refined and advanced.
Run 2 stop signs. Cool
Heaven's Saint HSMM at 5:04 !
2018 cvo limited review please
I will definitely! The limited wont drop over here probably until the end of December but I will do a review of it for sure!
I should never have demoed a 2018 Street Glide Special. I currently ride a 2015 sportster and had sport bikes previously so kinda just did it for the experience. Never knew I would've loved it so much but then again I said the same when test riding my sportster. I'm young so its hard justifying a Street Glide as I feel I should enjoy the more uncomfortable bikes while I can!
MotoZixxer same here I'm young and fell in love with the road glide special buying one in march
I have a 2014 Electra Glide Limited
Whats a docking harbor?
These Milwaukee eights seem to sound great out of the box?
I think so, I think they sound better than the twin cam did off the showroom floor for sure
If you want to know what paints will be available for the upcoming year just see what Mopar is doing since Harley copies Mopar paint just renames it
Just bought the brand new denim grey one. Heard noises coming from backend. Humming sounds. At 800 miles , took it in to get 1000 mike check up because we were planning on sturgess. On way to dealer , check engine light came on. They said two or three days a week and half ago. They called today and said when they were going through it , they found problems with transmission and had to order parts. I’m livid. That’s fucked up. I will keep everyone updated when I pick it up and find out details since the guy on the phone had no real answers. 800 miles , with a fucked up transmission already. Don’t think so. I can already see that I will have more problems in the future which is why I paid 30 thousand dollars in the first place.
Yes I am and they did fix it. Missed my trip to sturgess though. Didn’t even offer me a loaner or anything whatsoever. It just pissed me off that you buy a brand new Harley for 30 grand and then the trans goes out after 800 miles. Harley gives you a two year warranty. They tried charging me 120 bucks for checking the check engine light. I just laughed and litterally said fuck you. Don’t think so. Then they tried charging me 520 bucks for a passenger seat mount. I bought the identical same one on eBay for 80 bucks. That price wasn’t even including installation. I’m starting to learn that buying stuff from China is a lot better then buying here in America. Everyone thinks that everything made in China is cheap. A lot is but a lot if things are made very well also. Just like hear at home.

Sorry to hear about you bike man.
I don’t want to pour salt in the wound but there is a reason Consumer reports lists HD as the 2nd most unreliable bike at 26%. BMW is 1st at 33%. If you wanted a reliable bike you need a Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda or Kawasaki. I had been seriously looking at buying a street glide special used because I can’t spend $30K on a bike I can only ride 6 months a year (I live in Canada). However, I’ve come across so many stories like yours I’m going to buy my second choice , a used 2018 Goldwing. I ride 35,000km a season and I can’t do that if my bike is going to be in the shop being fixed all the time. My current bike is a 2014 Kawasaki Nomad 1700 ABS with 168,000 trouble free KM’s. I haven’t done anything but put tires, brake pads and gas in the bike. It has never broken down. Many people say Japanese bikes are ugly, their Harley copies and have no soul. I don’t know if that is true. What I do know is if you want to ride a lot of miles/KM’s trouble free, you can’t beat a Japanese bike. I hope it all works out for you and your back on the road soon. Be safe.
I think most bikers would applaud a considerable price increase as long
as the quality is kept or increased, like Chrysler did w/the hemi
Hellcat, or Demon, same as modern Vette or Mustang. Get it together and
build the dream worth owning Harley!!! And the public will gladly buy
your bikes even at a hefty sticker price.
Is this in panama city? I'm sure I know that pointless stop sign
The 2 guys sitting out front seemed brain dead. Pretty obvious by riding the bike to the front door that it was going inside. They must have been on an unpaid break.
Dude I was thinking the same thing! Get up off your azz and open the door!
how about stopping at the stop signs😳
AJG JR
How bout it's a private stop sign on private property, wait, you probably don't even know what that means.
Buying they are the best. Trade in meh.
That's music? I prefered the toilet commercial.
Bike looks great, but they can keep those funky bags. Look nice from the rear, but warped from the side.
saddlebag I'm 50/50 on stretched bags, I think it looks good from the back too, I get the design though. If they brought the whole bag down it risks more damage during cornering
And if you have 30K and willing to give HD your first born, you too can have one of these.
Working hard has nothing to do with it. Most people in America today don't have this kind of money. Merica' ain't what it used to be.
Get yo ass up and open the door kenny!
Added as a courtesy. Lol. I am sure someone is paying for it.
I guess he'll stop twice at the next one. Well, I guess not. I hope a car load of kids never cross his path.
Not gonna watch a review about motorcycle’s from a guy who blatantly disregards motorcycle safety...and runs stop signs that’s how us fellow riders get hurt. Safety people....
Stay home...on the couch with the remote in your hand..its safer that way...lol
a lot of repetition. When you have to say the SAME THING over and over again? 3 times is too much already. We got it.
when you say "full and detailed" ? you should begin with the functions, dials, buttons, etc before ever taking it out on the street. THAT would maybe make it "full and detailed". Rehashing the same points doesn't cut it. Sorry.
Great Bike. "Review" ? Not so much...
fast action jax, you and matt laidlaw are the two best Harley reviewers on youtube, thanks for the clips! I have one question, if you had to choose between buying a used 2010 road king (looked after) and having about $6000 to spend on it, or buying a new 2018 road king without having any money to add extras. Which would you pick?
thanks brother! I really appreciate that. Matt's page is actually what gave me the inspiration to start doing this since he's on the west coast and Im on the East I figured I'd start doing to try to help people the best I could too, not that location really matters on youtube ha. But to answer you question that is a really tough one and I think it's going to depend more on what your after. the new bike will come with the Harley 2 year warranty and you could ride it care free for awhile, BUT if you after more the customization factor and want to really make the bike yours and custom I'd go that route, either way I think you'll be happy and either way you'll end up with a customized bike specific to you, I think its going to boil down to how long you want to wait to do it, sooner on used, longer on new.
thanks man! I really appreciate your swift reply, I'm going to have a think about it for a couple of weeks. I agree when you say I'll be happy either way lol, thanks again! keep up the good work!
sean downs absolutely agree. I follow both and they have helped understand both the street glide me the road glide for my next purchase.
Liking the street glide more and more everyday. Good review Jax please keep up the great work bro🙌
Thanks brother!!!
