Guys I apologize for not going into the “i” button. It allows you to keep track of your maintenance schedule and other things. I overlooked this when I was filming. I’ll include this aspect of the infotainment system in a future video.
Hey Matt thanks for the awesome videos. Very informative. This might be off topic but I noticed you have an outlaw bandit with a Sena set up. Which mic do you use? Boom or wire mic? If you use the wire mic where do you mount it? Thanks for the help of you can.
I just got a new 2019 Limited and pulled the WHIM out of my 2018 and installed it in the 2019, and had my local HD dealer flash the new Boom GTS. At first I thought you could only use Apple Car Play with a helmet, but after testing you can actually pair everything like you did Matt and then eject the 20S from the helmet (while paired and turned on). If you put the ejected 20S in your windshield bag pouches, you will have Car Play still enabled so you can listen to Siri prompts and iTunes/Apple music through the external speakers. You won’t have Siri voice commands because the mic is not connected, but this gives me the option to have Car Play while wearing a half helmet and still be able to use Siri voice prompts for Apple map directions and my Apple music library on the external speakers. I absolutely love the new Boom GTS and think it performs 100% better than the older Boom GT.
Hands down,,,,,,This was the best tutorial of the new Harley-Davidson GTS System I have ever come across!! And for that I personally Thank You Matt..👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Ride Safe Brother..
I'm shortly to take delivery of a New Street Glide Special and this video is fantastic prep and answered all of my Boom Box GTS set up questions. I should be up and running in no time now. Thanks a bundle Matt, awesome video.
Thanks Matt, I just purchased the same bike that you demonstrating the infotainment system on. I think your video is the most informative one out there.
Matt, you said three things are required: 1. The helmet must be Bluetooth-connected to the Boom Box GTS 2. The iPhone must be Bluetooth-connected to the Boom Box GTS 3. The iPhone must be plugged into the USB for Apple CarPlay Two questions: 1. Does the iPhone really need to be Bluetooth-connected to the Boom Box GTS since it will already have the physical connection via Apple CarPlay? 2. If a Bluetooth connection between the Harley headset (I have the 30K) and iPhone is active, will that screw things up? I pick up my 2020 Road Glide Limited with the WHIM installed this coming Tuesday. It is hard to find people with experience with this. Thanks for the informative video. Sam
Hi Matt, great tutorial that helped me a lot. I have 2 problems I can’t fix maybe you have an idea… I own a 2019 ultra CVO like on the video and same 20s head set coming with the bike. I have an iPhone 12. When I connect CarPlay to the bike first if I start the engine after connecting then I lose CarPlay so I have to disconnect the Cable and connect again or do the connecting after engine is started. But ok I can get used to it if only way. My biggest issue is when trying to use the phone with CarPlay. The call works I can hear my correspondant, but he won’t hear me. When I call not using CarPlay it’s working fine. Any idea?
Excellent video and informative. I just bought a '22 FLHTK and had the WHIM installed by the dealership. Love it and it all works perfectly along with our new Outrush R helmets. Thank you again.
Can’t wait to use mine. Unfortunately right now I live where it’s too cold to ride right now. Counting the days. I can hardly wait to use this GTS with my new ride 👍🏼😎
Thanks Matt for taking the time to show us around the new system. It clearly is an improvement over my 2018 but to be honest, I have apple car play in my car, and at first it was nice to play with, but now I hardly use it. The HD navigation is much better but it would be good to have the apple as a backup. Pandora works great on my radio, and like you, I have an I phone 7, which I removed the phone rubber at once, and the phone remains nicely in the holder. My biggest complaint is the time it takes to get Pandora going upon start up, and the nav is even slower. The new system seems to improve that greatly so that's a good thing.
Great video Matt- Dave L said the best tutorial was to watch this video. I’ve successfully found the service section in order to reset my counter after services. My question is: Is there a section that allows viewing the engine’s operating data, such as engine temperature, oil temperature, oil pressure- etc? Thanks
There is no engine temp or oil temp reader. There is an oil pressure indicator that is just “okay” or not okay. You can get a temperature dip stick from the parts catalog.
Good intuitive video - Thanks for sharing. Call me stupid, but could you add how to set the clock and save radio stations?! I just bought a 2019 Tri-Glide and believe it or not I am having trouble figuring THOSE 2 things out!
Just bought this new radio through Palm Springs Harley and I’m gonna have them install it when it comes in. Much better radio then what came with my 2015 Limited. I’m excited!!

Hi Matt 👋 Apple Car Play and the Boom Box GTS are not a seamless fit unfortunately. Our bikes connect up to Car Play fine (2020 SGS & 2020 CVO Ultra) initially once we have the phone blue toothed in, the headset connected and finally the phone hard wired into the USB. Everything works fine until you stop and turn off the ignition, say for filling up with gas or stopping to chat to a friend. When you turn the ignition back on Apple Car Play will not come up again. The only way to make it come up is to unplug the phone, wait a minute or so and then plug the phone back in. With riding gear, gloves and on a wet day this is just not happening so the ride continues without Car Play. Very frustrating if you were using Car Play to Navigate. Also I have found that the plugging in and plugging out to get Car Play up can cause the GTS system to glitch, menu's highlight randomly and the screen switches to different views. Turning off the ignition and rebooting the system resolves this. On the HD Forum many other users are having the issue of Car Play not coming back up unless you plug out and plug in the phone each time you turn on the ignition. I feel like once the three parameters are met in whatever order they are met Car Play should pop straight up. I really hope Harley/Apple sort this. For the time being we have turned off Car Play as it is just too frustrating to use. Safe riding 😎👍
Nice video Matt. Thanks for going over this. But it left me wondering if you predict there to be Android Auto on this as an update eventually or see it coming in the 2020 models?
I have this system on my 2019 road glide special. After the initial awe, I’ve come to find it’s pretty much worthless. As Matt says you need the whim and the HD sena to make it work as Harley-Davidson markets it. As of this date you don’t need an HD tattoo to make the system work. The whim is not an easy install requiring removal of the fairing and being flashed. Other than the am and fm tuner what good is it? The phone is doing all the work if I’m using Apple car play. Harley could of left an open slot in place of the stereo that an iPhone could snap into with a lighting connector that would go to an amplifier and speakers. The gauging features could be controlled with traditional gauges or an app on the iPhone. Not hating on the system or HD, they’re a business they have to make money. I just believe if all these extras are needed to make the features of the system work, it should just be included with the bike and just increase the price.
I had a 2018 Ultra. When my Iphone was connected by blue tooth, and I wanted to search for a song, I clicked on songs, then click down and over to the letters. Click on the letter and the keyboard would come up. I would click on the first letter of the song I was searching for and then scroll through the titles to the song I wanted. Sold that bike. Now I have a 2019 CVO Street Glide. When I do the same and click down and over, then click on the letter, the keyboard does not come up. Are all bikes 2019 and up this way, or is there a setting I'm missing? Also, are you able to search with keyboard in Apple Carplay?
Good video Matt! The only regret I have with my 18 is the new infotainment system. I tried them out at the 115th in Milwaukee they are nice with no glare! Ride Safe!
Great video Matt! I too wish the Juke Box compartment was bigger on the Ultra. This is one of the reasons I’ll be choosing a Road Glide for my next bike because my phone fits much better in the fairing so I can use Car Play. If you ever get the ear of a Motor Company representative tell them to make Car Play wireless for 2020. Since I’m shooting for the stars tell them to put a wireless qi charger in the fairing compartments too. We really need to move away from the cords!
Glenn Watts yea, wireless would be cool. All I can figure is that there is data that is transferred via the cord that can’t be transferred efficiently via blue tooth.
Matt Laidlaw Wireless CarPlay has been available in iOS since version 8.3. I’m not sure why manufacturers have been slow to adopt it. To-date only BMW and I believe a few VW’s support it. Not surprisingly the aftermarket has been quicker to adopt it.
97% of my friends have Android phones, why would the Motor Company allow this to be specific to Apple devices only? Not that it matters to me because i'm still stuck in the 90's but it just doesn't make sense. Maybe Apple stores will start popping up adjacent to all Harley Davidson dealerships across the country now?
@@donalddavis7160 Soundz has done it and a fine job at that. you buy the radio and buy the harness from them. you can send the radio to them they will flash it and send it to you with the harness. Check out John Maxwells channel. he sent to their shop. the guy is genius!
Seriously for Car Play to work, you have to have a WHIM, not already provoded on any other models other than CVO? and a Harley Branded Sena? Hmmm could harley be getting any more ridiculous on 30K bikes? No Retro fit? No Android Auto?... Not worth it, I will keep my 2017 SGS
I couldn't agree more! HARLEY i get you want to make the CVO special but give is a break, the ultra limited is 30k and its not even on that... get it together harley or your sales will continue to plummet.. and another BS move... only apple car play... what about the MILLIONS of android users?! Im really thinking of getting a 2019 ultra limited but it sucks knowing in the back of my mind.. i could be paying $30k for a bike and there are options i cant even use, and the reason is because of what phone i wanted to buy... COME ON!!!
I have a 2019 Street Glide. Nice video but a lot of info about car play, I have an android. Also, on the nav screen, nothing was mentioned about the HD icon that was not lit up. What is the function of this? I'm also having issues with downloading rides from HD's Ride Planner.
I just got the 2022 and I was told I can't do just a standard Sena, but it has to be the Harley model. I don't have the WHIM yet so I can't test it. Can I pair my 50S Non-Harley model headset?
I have ACP in my new Suburban. Not real impressed with it til I saw this video! Thanks Matt! For my infotainment on my 2017 Rushmore does just fine! My music is all in playlist format! So not to hard to get the music I need quickly. Not bagging on the GTS none, I’m done buying new bikes for a few years.
Matt - thanks for the video. One question I can't find an answer to though. I recently bought a 2021 Ultra Limited and I'm going to fit a CB to it. Earlier models had a PTT button on the right switch block although they no longer have that function. Can you tell me where the PTT function is now on later models when you fit a CB through the Boom Box system??
You said the new one has the ability to fade the sound front to back and the older ones didn't? Not saying you're wrong but i was able to do that on my 2011 and it is also on my 2015, i have always set it back just a little bit so i can hear the rear speaker's better. Just saying
Question: I want to use Google Maps via Carplay... is it possible to have the screen on Google Maps (CarPlay) while listening to SiriusXM through the radio? In other words, if you are in CarPlay are you limited to only the audio from the iPhone?
No Android Auto??? Prejudice in 2019! I'm going to my safe space! Taking my equal opportunity / non-biased / no infotainment equipped Harley out for a spin
Matt, great video's, question, once the headset is paired but I decide to turn it off, will CarPlay still work, with phone plugged in of course? Also, if it has to stay on, and i'm wearing a different helmet not set up with the wireless mount, can i just keep the wireless headset in the saddle bag? And will CarPlay work? I'm asking because i'm here on east coast and my new CVO RG is still in storage till end of March, but i'm reading/watching everything now so i'm ready to go in April.
Matt, thanks for the information in this and all of your videos, keep it up. I have a new 2022 Road Glide Special and I bought a flash tool and flashed the GTS radio myself for the Rockford Fosgate Amp and speakers (the ones not sold with the Harley stamp on them) and it worked out perfectly, I also was able to activate the Apple Car Play by selecting the WHIM option while preforming the flash. So my radio is up and running Apple Car Play and it works perfectly. So my question for you is, would I still benefit from installing a WHIM? I have a Sena 50R (again, not one of the ones stamped and sold by Harley). Is there a way for my Sena and my iPhone to still communicate for phone calls and texts and voice commands while simultaneously having the GTS running Apple Car Play for my music and podcasts and such? I am guessing that I will ultimately just break down and buy the WHIM, and in that case, I expect to "route" the audio for music and podcasts to the bike speakers, but "route" the COM and NAV audio to my Sena headset (I would not be so concerned that the audio for COM and NAV was in Mono so long as the music runs thru the bike speakers as I mentioned)
Not too bad of a video about the NEW BOOM box setup, Shame you didn't have someone with you or just to sit on the bike to do the settings of it all, so WE the rider/buyer will get a better look at the setup. I don't have an iPhone, but have Android, is the setup pretty much the same for my type of phone??? I'm guessing it will be. Again, thanks for the video of the setup stages. Cheers, Teddy
How can I activate the HD app on the actual bike. I have a 2019 cvo and my phone app is ready to use. I have tried sending addresses by the app to bike and it's not working. I might be missing a step. Thanks for your videos and help.
Hi Matt, I really like your video and channel. One question: I am from Brazil and I have a Road Glide 2020. Do you know if you want to use the wireless headset to have any other connection module with the motorcycle? Can I use CB normally? Thank you very much for your attention.
Hi Matt, does the 2019 SGS now come with the same speakers as a stage 1 audio with out the amp? As opposed to the 5 1/2 speakers with the cloth over them
Great tutorial Matt, its great learning and keeping current on the latest Features, even if I ride a Lowrider I still like keeping up with what’s new and current, it will make things much easier if I decide to get a road glide someday. Take care my friend.
Matt...Sony xav-ax5000 Harley Davidson. This is a great way to go if you want Apple Car Play. For about 550.00 I personally like this unit better that H-D new infotainment system. I ride a 2017 SGS and this unit is pretty nice.
It will work Bluetooth with Android phones but looks like this system does not have Android Auto unfortunately. Because that would have been a seller to me. Also unfortunate is that it is required you to have a headset to use it.
No android auto unfortunately. Yes, you can still use most functions via blue tooth but it won’t superimpose your phone up on the screen and use the android interface.
Hi Matt, I posed a question awhile back and you didn't answer so I'm asking again. I have a 17 SG which obviously has the old boom system. My question is have you heard of anyone upgrading the old boom system to the GTS? Is it even possible to do and if so, how much do you think it would cost? Thank you.
Sorry for missing the question the first time. The answer to your question is NO. Unfortunately, the pre-2019 bikes cannot be upgraded to the new GTS system. However if you have the 4.3 inch screen then you can get the 6.5 GT system which is the one that came on the specials that year.
Awesome Matt - thanks! I'm definitely ordering all of this on my 19 SGS. I think you'll need to replace the Storm Trooper sooner than you were planning :) I wouldve gone with an 18 SGS if HD hadnt come out with GTS, but the GTS is a game changer. The 114 M8 engine is nice but like you I was happy with the 107 M8's torque compared to 103 - the GTS pushed me into the 2019. Great vlog! And with these new Specials on the SG and RG lines, there really is less justification to go CVO. Especially given the very limited and frankly unappealing paint on the CVO SG this year (how could they not offer a black??) I've ordered the SGS. I"m adding Whim, S20 headsets, reach bars, daymaker headlight, wrapped front fender, badlander seat, and I think it looks way better than the CVO SG.
Matt, I own a 2019 Road Glide Ultra. My HOG chapter shares routing info between BoomBox equipped riders. I think they pass around a thumb drive. Do you know how to upload routing from Ride Planner or a laptop or Bluetooth ?
I have a 2020 SGS with whim and I phone. Now I can make calls via Boom box, but not with Apple Play. What am I missing ??. My phone does Bluetooth pease advice. Thanks
@@richardsak887 I found out from Harley that they are having an issues with iPHONE 11 comparability . So grab my wife's iPhone 8 an everything works fine. They said the tech's are working on it??
Paul Louis ahhh...good to know. Amazing how many considerations have to be made as tech updates and changes these days. Mods to phone software can have a domino effect with anything else we use with them. Good luck bud.
Like the speed and features of the new system, wouldn't even mind purchasing the WHIM as I'd have the hidden antenna fitted at the same time however what I do object to is H-D's insistence that you have to purchase their H-D branded SENA headsets. I've already invested into built in SENA technology in 2 helmets so that I don't have a carbuncle stuck on the side of my helmet that creates noise and airflow imbalance or the risk of something that sticks out digging in if you are unfortunate to have an off. Come on H-D please stop fleecing the purchasers of your Touring models!
@@synonyx you have to go to the dealer now for Android update AND buy the WHIMS Which i think is FUCKIN RIDICULOUS! My golly gee...what a cluster f#$k. Trying to pair three systems; Boom Box, Sena and iPhone and get them to work together...no wonder HD is having problems. How about SEAMLESS connection. No special Sena or taking your brand new 2019 back to dealer to flash CarPlay...or a Harley WHIM box...I would postulate that a Honda or BMW does not have these problems...sheesh. Good video Matt.
@@MattLaidlaw Im sorry maybe I am confused. Its my understanding that a 19 ST Glide Special requires the installation of the WHIM in order for Apple Car Play to work? The capability is standard. Am I wrong?
You must be watching too much Ryan Urlacher. What is required is you need a mic setup to use it. The apple car play comes standard on all the GTS systems but won’t activate unless you have a mic plugged in. The WHIM is the most expensive way to go about this. You can get a 69 dollar audio cord that runs under the gas tank and plug in a headset (which retails for about $180) and you’re good to go. This has a wire, however, running from your helmet to the bike. To go wireless it requires the WHIM and wireless headset
@@MattLaidlaw You are probably right I think I have been watching too many of his videos LOL. Thank you for taking the time and clearing that up. Sadly my information came from a Harley Dealer. @@donalddavis7160 Soundz has done it and a fine job at that. you buy the radio and buy the harness from them. you can send the radio to them they will flash it and send it to you with the harness. Check out John Maxwells channel. he sent to their shop. the guy is genius!
Who would spend the money upgrading to that shitty system? Better options out there for less with andriod auto.
John you can now
Seriously for Car Play to work, you have to have a WHIM, not already provoded on any other models other than CVO? and a Harley Branded Sena? Hmmm could harley be getting any more ridiculous on 30K bikes? No Retro fit? No Android Auto?... Not worth it, I will keep my 2017 SGS
They just WANT MORE $$$$
I love Harley...but I believe I am seeing them die a slow death.
This is why Indian is gaining on Harley. Everything is included when you buy a bike of this value. Stop nickel and dimeing people HD!
Exactly
I couldn't agree more! HARLEY i get you want to make the CVO special but give is a break, the ultra limited is 30k and its not even on that... get it together harley or your sales will continue to plummet.. and another BS move... only apple car play... what about the MILLIONS of android users?! Im really thinking of getting a 2019 ultra limited but it sucks knowing in the back of my mind.. i could be paying $30k for a bike and there are options i cant even use, and the reason is because of what phone i wanted to buy... COME ON!!!
So with Apple carplay, you can play music through the bikes speakers and and have prompts and conversation through the Sena 20S?
I have a 2019 Street Glide. Nice video but a lot of info about car play, I have an android. Also, on the nav screen, nothing was mentioned about the HD icon that was not lit up. What is the function of this? I'm also having issues with downloading rides from HD's Ride Planner.
I’ll have to look into that. I’m not sure what you’re referring to.
I just got the 2022 and I was told I can't do just a standard Sena, but it has to be the Harley model. I don't have the WHIM yet so I can't test it. Can I pair my 50S Non-Harley model headset?
Hi Matt, another excellent and informative tutorial, well done, keep them coming.
So, if you don't have the WHIM, you have to plug in your headset? Which is stuck to your helmet. That doesn't sound workable.
In other words, if you are in CarPlay are you limited to only the audio from the iPhone?
leaving out Android system and leaning in to the Apple products is a mistake. If you play, you have an iphone if you do work you have an Android
bwhahahahahahahahahahahahaha
No Android Auto??? Prejudice in 2019! I'm going to my safe space! Taking my equal opportunity / non-biased / no infotainment equipped Harley out for a spin
I got a19 Street Glide. I love the new system!
Harley Man The Train Fan it’s so nice man. I love it. Enjoy the bike
Lordy that's a beautiful bike!
Matt, will the Cardo Pack Talk work with this as well?
klh3244 I have the same question
Matt, great video's, question, once the headset is paired but I decide to turn it off, will CarPlay still work, with phone plugged in of course? Also, if it has to stay on, and i'm wearing a different helmet not set up with the wireless mount, can i just keep the wireless headset in the saddle bag? And will CarPlay work? I'm asking because i'm here on east coast and my new CVO RG is still in storage till end of March, but i'm reading/watching everything now so i'm ready to go in April.
Now you can get the new GTS Boom radio for most if not all ‘17 and newer touring models for $1900+ wire harness.
I know Harley says that you can not retro fit this; but, some geek has to figure this out. Can you look into this?
Amen to this, Harley is leaving a ton of $$$ on the table NOT allowing people to upgrade their bikes touch screens with this new GTS
Kipper's CVO I would bet that they allow it to be retro-fitted in the next year or so. We will see.
Matt Laidlaw it’s out now!!
Great Video, but whats about Androit?
Can you use and select/ control the Spotify App on Apple Carplay when the WHIM is installed?
Matt do you get live updates on the Harley GPS if your I phone is connected to your bike? Traffic delays ect?
Hey Matt if you already have a sirius account on your phone will it automatic download to the info system?
Do the Harley maps show traffic?
Not too bad of a video about the NEW BOOM box setup, Shame you didn't have someone with you or just to sit on the bike to do the settings of it all, so WE the rider/buyer will get a better look at the setup. I don't have an iPhone, but have Android, is the setup pretty much the same for my type of phone??? I'm guessing it will be. Again, thanks for the video of the setup stages. Cheers, Teddy
what about android?
Good demo. Thank you.
As opposed to the 5 1/2 speakers with the cloth over them
Is there away to turn radio of while using navigation?
Not really except turning the volume all the way down. Or switching to a different audio source like media.
where do you find the temp settings
Need a review of the new road glide special and that 114
Love the new system wish my 2017 street glide had it.
So why does the pinch and drag not work so well in Carplay interface?
How do you activate Sirius XM radio?
Hi, Matt. Thanks for this review. On the navigation functionality, is it possible to upload custom .gpx files?
Great tutorial Matt, its great learning and keeping current on the latest Features, even if I ride a Lowrider I still like keeping up with what’s new and current, it will make things much easier if I decide to get a road glide someday. Take care my friend.
Matt...Sony xav-ax5000 Harley Davidson. This is a great way to go if you want Apple Car Play. For about 550.00 I personally like this unit better that H-D new infotainment system. I ride a 2017 SGS and this unit is pretty nice.
Can the CB radio be configured to work on a 2019 Ultra Limited. This type a bike should come standard with it.
Hey Matt, does the new GTS system work with Android phones?
It will work Bluetooth with Android phones but looks like this system does not have Android Auto unfortunately. Because that would have been a seller to me. Also unfortunate is that it is required you to have a headset to use it.
Ok. Thanks for the reply joojr2779.
No android auto unfortunately. Yes, you can still use most functions via blue tooth but it won’t superimpose your phone up on the screen and use the android interface.
Ok, thanks Matt!
Does the WHIM work with a Cardo headset rather than a Sena headset?
NO AND you need a HD branded SENA unit for a stereo signal otherwise any non HD branded SENA units will only receive a mono vs stereo signal. 😡
Hi Matt,
I posed a question awhile back and you didn't answer so I'm asking again.
No UA-cam on Apple car play?
Thanks for the video it looks very user-friendly take care Matt
Love the Road King.
what about "updating Maps" ? does it update automatically ?
There are downloads that you can get off the website. You stick it on a flash card then plug it in. Or have the dealer do it during a service.
Great info on this new system can't wait to get my hands on my new street glide cvo
Can u play you tube with the new system from ur phone ?
No, you can pipe the Audio through it I’m sure but not the video on the screen
NIck Cotter thanks for the comment my friend. Yea, I feel left out without the new GTS but I’ll get over it I guess.
Here’s the new fender graphics for Storm Trooper 2.0 = 💀
Very cool I have a question, is it glove friendly, like would it work with winter gloves etc? Thanks for the info
I should have tested that. HD claims it is which I’m sure is legitimate.
Do you really play with all this while riding the bike?.... in the winter! Ride safe. lol
Everything works with gloves.
Suck that i have 2019 CVO roadglide and it want link to my Android Shame on HD!!!!!!!!!! Still behind as far as Radio !!
Matt, I own a 2019 Road Glide Ultra. My HOG chapter shares routing info between BoomBox equipped riders. I think they pass around a thumb drive. Do you know how to upload routing from Ride Planner or a laptop or Bluetooth ?
Matt disregard my question, the answers are spelled out in detail in the BoomBox manual. Sorry
I have a 2020 SGS with whim and I phone. Now I can make calls via Boom box, but not with Apple Play. What am I missing ??. My phone does Bluetooth pease advice. Thanks
Paul Louis are you plugged in to the USB port?
It's ridiculous Harley didnt make it Android compatible too. Simply ridiculous.
I agree
Android Auto is there now, just do the update!
@@synonyx you have to go to the dealer now for Android update AND buy the WHIMS
Which i think is FUCKIN RIDICULOUS!
How do i know you asked.... well i went there and asked for them to update it while it was in for its 5000 mile service.
I said "why doesn't Harley Davidson like its customers "?
They agreed it was stupid.
Needless to say, i didn't get it done
@@johnnyturbo8460 You can do the update at home just like in the video. Mine worked that way.
@@synonyx
HMMMMM, did you do it recently? I tried about a month ago and it didn't work so when i went into HD for my service i asked them to do it.. they said HD changed it and you now need the WHIMS and the update
With my Ultra Limited the car play will not come up without trying to get Siri with the left handle grip voice recognition button. I have the plugin headset that came with the bike.
What model is your bike?
Matt Laidlaw 2019 ultra limited
Love your videos Matt, but corporate needs to buy you a pro hands-free mic 'n earpiece.
Thanks for posting.
I bought a 2019 to get this new system and the 114.................Best/joe
Nice video Matt Thanks
My golly gee...what a cluster f#$k. Trying to pair three systems; Boom Box, Sena and iPhone and get them to work together...no wonder HD is having problems. How about SEAMLESS connection. No special Sena or taking your brand new 2019 back to dealer to flash CarPlay...or a Harley WHIM box...I would postulate that a Honda or BMW does not have these problems...sheesh. Good video Matt.
Does this support Adroid Auto?
There is a new update. Yes it does!
MAT T, (HELP) I AM TRYING TO RECORD A TRIP AS I RIDE. I HAVE A 2021 ULTRA LIMITED
Yeah Harley has “old technology”. Time to write that gripe off the list! Nice video, Matt.
D-Cycle yea seriously. This thing ain’t old tech
Its beautiful for sure but the price HD asks for a SGS IMO apple car play should be standard as well.
It is standard.
They never even mentioned anything about connecting a wire headset under the gas tank. Have a great day Matt.
Thanks
iPhone X fits perfect in the dash Matt. Just sayin
Apple CarPlay and no android. The display screen is better and that’s about it. GTS still has bugs and glitches like the boom box 6.5
It sucks that you have to have a headset to use carplay.
you don't, there is a menu setting to change that will allow carplay without a mic. Probably figured that out in the last year :)
