    Among the traditional Korean kimchi, there is "white kimchi" that does not mix red pepper powder with non-spicy kimchi. However, the name of the kimchi cannot be changed to the extent that the "vegetable pickle" shown here is written.

    I am from South Korea, and I am pretty sure that this is NOT what we normally call Kimchi. It “looks” like a special Kimchi, called Nabak Kimchi. However, the recipe is different from normal Nabak Kimchi.

      I have no reason whatsoever to doubt what you stated. However, like everything in North America, recipes are modified to suit American/Canadian tastes.

      I meant kimchi the original korean way with the real thing.
      There was very little red pepper flakes used in this video.
      Kimchi has to be way more spicy when you ask me.

    I like kimchi but would not call it a "comfort food." Japchae and gamja salad could fit that description, but probably not a typically spicy, chewy napa cabbage dish.

    To all the people saying it's not kimchi, IT IS. Not all kimchi is spicy and all red like the most common kimchi we all know. Kimchi literally is just fermented and salted vegetables. It can come in different varieties and recipes. Salting and fermentation is only the key thing which is why you shouldn't be insulted for all the Koreans out there.

    Fish sauce is the primary ingredients.
    Radish is prefered to use than carrots.

    Hi,I am from South Korea and I am telling you that is not how you make Kinchi. First of all you do not put carrots.Second,you DO NOT put water in the round thing. If you want to make it correctly make sure to use Korean traditional 항아리

      russ sherwood kimchi? Idk where you are that it’s expensive but even in Minnesota I had many Asian grocery stores close to buy affordable kimchi from, might not be the same in your area though. Could probably be ordered online
