The Beatles shot their “Revolver” and Jean Luc-Godard rode the French New Wave so that the CBC could ascend to astonishing heights. Love to see the lads having a laugh, and have a look at what happens when Bradders does his homework and educates Jonny on Jeff Bridges’ Bridges!

Deeply enjoyed this. For all the really in-depth and informative beer content you guys produce, it doesn't hurt to have a bit more of this relaxed and low-key content. Feels like the other half of craft beer, once you've had several crispy boys you talk nonsense with your mates.
When I was a poor student about 20+ years ago I was on a focus group for a Speights (terrible beer) advert campaign here in NZ. All I remember was the ad was terrible (like the beer) and I got $20 and a ton of free (terrible) beer to take home when I pretended I liked it. I imagine this is how all advertisement campaigns are run.
I'd imagine it was very much the case back then. Probably a bit more formal and wider-research based these days

This and packaging design are Brad's wheelhouse, and the man knows that which he speaks of. Ads and nice labels have sold more beer than any of Jonny's chit chat about Graham crackers, specialty malts, and yeast expressions :) That said, I do love both perspectives and I am glad to see they are both getting a run on my favorite beer channel. Some of those ads were truly appalling and Jonny added a necessary corrective to Brad's enthusiasms. In my view the Dude Lebowski cardie was worth every cent...

At one time beer commercials were about drinking beer to get the girl then they became I rather drink beer than get the girl.

The Whitbread ones were epic. The John Smiths Yorkshire bitter were very funny. Courage best were clever.

The most effective celebrity advertisement for a beer was accidental, when Madonna said in an interview that her favourite ale was the landlord.
The landlord replaced Timothy Taylors light mild as the main beer and made the mostly regional brewery more recognised nationally.
I need to do some digging to see if we can truly correlate these things. I bloody hope so.

Well look, I'm sure Brad knows his stuff and this video will be wildly popular (just because it has the word "react" in the title), but I have to say as a long term fan of your enjoyable and informative work on the 'tube I found this to be neither enjoyable nor informative. Reaction vids really are the absolute dumbest content out there. What's lower than lowbrau? Cheers 🍻
Sorry to hear that, but I can assure you there will be plenty of insight in the other episodes planned for this series. Not all of them will be based on bad adverts, but some of the most interesting bits of content made around beer.
