Jess, my cousin trained at Cordon Bleu in Paris and she told me that spices pretty much never go bad. So long as there isn’t any mold and they’re properly stored, they’re safe to use and consume. The only thing to keep in mind is that once the expiration date passes, the potency of the spice goes down significantly so you’ll just have to use more of it. As someone who is currently using spices from the 90s and is completely fine, you’re good. Lol. It’s still good to add the expiration date though!
That egg convo was so funny to me. I’m a country girl that grew up raising chickens. They lay eggs regardless, if the rooster has fertilized them or not. But you’re kinda right in that a chick won’t form unless it’s fertilized and it’s been consistently kept warm enough for several days by being sat on by the hen. 😂
@@melissamoeller9608 Haha, gross and I get what you mean! I guess in a way, but to make me feel better I’d say no though . Chickens lay the eggs every single day. Thank goodness we don’t have periods every day. 😂
I loved this part of the vlog too!! It kind of reminded me of the Chicken of the Sea bit from Newlyweds with Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey... but more endearing and even funnier!! BUT.. we are no closer to knowing the answer to the age old question of which came came first, the chicken or the egg...?! Heeheehee... 😂💕
Yes, being in tbe right mood for cleaning/re-organizing is essential. I just did this, moving over from fall/winter to spring/ summer. YAY for you. Your donate pile will make some young women very happy. I am going to have to give Thrive Market a try. Your snack/essentials hauls always make me peckish...lol.
Thoughts: *I have clothes in my closet for a lifestyle I've never had lol. *Bribing kids for the win! *Salty snacks all the way! I may be part deer. *Aces! You're adorable. *Your face finding the bonus peanut butter cups! LOVE! *Your new spice drawer is SEXY
Had to add: If you haven't already, get your colors done! You'll be amazed at how it streamlines your closet and makes clothes shopping so much easier! I am a Light Spring.
Love love love Vlogs and please consider filming the prep for your trip because I have a baby and have never traveled far with him because I am so overwhelmed by the thought of preparing for it! Or even if you have tips to share!
I’m so proud of you for your continued sponsorship from Thrive Market! You give us so much incredible content for FREE so I always love to see when you get rewarded for your hard work with these big sponsorships like Thrive and Hello Fresh! We all support you and encourage your sponsored videos - you deserve it!!! 😘💛
I've had all I can take at work, just got my lunch out, and get notified there's a new video......AND IT'S THE SPICE DRAWER???? What?? THANK YOU!!!!! Jessica you are THE BEST!
I love my aerogarden! I got it when the pandemic started & it’s still going strong. It has its own grow light & the herbs (or whatever you want to grow) only need water & the liquid fertilizer. Nice & contained year round freshness! They have all sizes. I got the small one (in an older design so it was on sale) for $50 & they grow in size to the point you can have your own veggie garden indoors
The spice drawer!!! I feel giddy like a kid. Currently watching this at 5:50am on a Saturday and I am THRILLED 😆 a declutter and organisation video is my fave, especially from you!
My now 16 year old daughter gave us a hard time with school, dentist, you name it! Major separation anxiety at play. We bribed her with little stuffed toys. Worked like a charm and we laugh about it to this day. Cute memory that she says makes her happy to remember😊
Grain is not part of my diet (wheat - not gluten - is a HUGE inflammation trigger) so I found the Siete brand about a year ago. Did you know that Costco has the Wedding cookies, the Sea Salt Chips and the Churro chips. You have to try the churro chips, they're wonderful! Also, the bags at Costco are much bigger so the price/ounce is a lot better. Oh, Costco also carries the Siete brand [almond flour] tortillas. Siete brand for the win!
Ooh Jessica! if you do the herbs with the lights PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE vlog that? I'm interested in doing this too but have no clue how to start! love your channel! ❤️
Satin pillowcase for the win! I’ve been using one for over 5 years, they’re great for hair and skin. But the real benefit is that it’s so cooling, also my husband now wants one lol
Thank you for sharing your ‘semi’ messy living room, I always wonder how everyone keeps a immaculate house all the time, thank you for keeping it real 😊
Just wanna let you know that after watching you thrive ads for what seems like a year I just became a year member of thrive! My fiancé has celiac disease so I’ve been toying with the idea for a long time! I’m so excited!
My fiancé got me an aero garden for Christmas and I love it. 5 months later and most of them are still extremely healthy! Honestly the worst herb we got was the thai basil because it grows so fast and so big it killed out our oregano.. Love your videos!
Jesssss! Omgosh when you were talking about the most annoying sound my brain right away though about Dumb and Dumer when they talk about the most annoying sound 😂😂😂😂😂
Omg that first dress was gorgeous! I can’t believe you never wore it & you’re getting rid of it.😮 The king of indoor gardens is definitely AeroGarden. I LOVE mine. 🌿
we have 10 hens and get eggs daily. sometimes they try and sit on the eggs but they will never hatch because we don't have a rooster. likely the eggs you buy in the store are fertilized by a rooster but are collected before they can be incubated for enough time for the chicks to develop and then hatch.
It is the roller ball in the dryer that rotates the drum. They wear out over time... especially if you dry like blankets and heavier items. We got ours fixed for $100 last year.
We love our aero garden for indoor gardening. Go up a size from the basic and you can grow tomatoes and small vegetables. We also use ours to start our seedlings for our outdoor garden in the summer. We now own 2! Also video idea… full face of makeup from Thrive market.
💟For the expiration dates in the future you can just write it with sharpie and then it comes off with alcohol or even a whiteboard marker colored over the sharpie and it wipes right off when you need to update it.
Consider an aerogarden. I use that to easily grow herbs on my kitchen counter. I also use the aerogarden farm xl for growing greens and tomatoes indoors. Very easy to use. 🥰
A tip for allergies (if you are allergic to pollen), find a local, native honey that is bottled in your area. Grocery stores usually carry them. Take a tablespoon a day for a few weeks. If you do that every year it could be a natural cure for your allergies! It works wonders for my boyfriend. He only takes it for two weeks and he is good for the rest of the year. Learned this from my mom who was a natural cure enthusiast.
We hatch out chickens, so let me help you out a bit. The rooster has the be there to fertilize the hen. So if no rooster, the eggs laid will never turn to chicks. If you have a rooster, and he has fertilized the hen, the eggs MAY turn to chicks if incubated. If want eggs for eating, you have to pick up every day or two, so they don’t start the incubation process.
I really want to organize my spice drawer but I need bottles with the labels on top because I have a vertical drawer. Yours turned out great! I really like the idea of having the expiration dates on the bottom
this past year I think the house i live in got to that age where all of the appliances started breaking down because they were all installed at/around the same time, so we've had to replace our dishwasher and have someone come out to work on our washer becuase it was leaking, so i definitely feel you on "when it rains, it pours" lol my favorite thing from thrive market is the balsamic mung beans if you haven't tried them they're SO good on salads/avocado toast/just as a snack
I’ve been waiting for the spice drawer revamp and it did not disappoint 😅 Also the egg conversation was cracking me up (pun intended) I literally learned like a year ago that they make the eggs without a rooster too 😂
As someone who was raised on a farm I can tell you that hens (lady chickens) lay eggs no matter what. Like humans we pass eggs but they can’t be fertilized and make babies unless we have a man or rooster 😂. You can eat both fertilized or unfertilized eggs. You don’t want to eat them if a hen has been setting on them very long which is why we collect eggs every day. Also if your eggs are farm fresh you don’t have to refrigerate them. 🐓 🥚
I'd recommend aerogarden. I can't grow anything, but I had a small aerogarden (3 pods) for basil and other herbs, and it was amazing! I only lost it during the extreme humidity of Florida summer... it grew mold 🥺 wouldn't be a problem where you are though. And actually, now that I have a dehumidifier, I bet it'd last year round. I love these videos, despite the extreme difference in style and taste in clothes lol But they're still just fun to watch 💕
It’s is so cute what they write on cards in the preschool and kindergarten. My daughter wrote she loves me cause I make her peanut butter sandwich whenever she wants to.
Great video! I always have a maybe bin for things I have issues parting with. If I do not go to the bin to find something within a season, I donate the bin without even looking at what is in it.

Good to know! I was just thinking how many of my spices are probably expired but I don’t have them in the original containers anymore…
Came to say the same thing! Doesn't go bad
The Joy Luck Club is a fantastic book. It was made into a movie maybe 25+ years ago. About mother daughter relationships. Definitely a tear jerker.
I love that you (and Tyler) are vlogging a lot more on your channels! ❤️
If it’s too tedious to get out label maker for expiration dates you can just use sharpie on glass and use acetone to erase when refilling/updating.
That was my thought! Acetone and rubbing alcohol can easily remove sharpie :) it just wouldn't look as nice as her labels lol
Hairspray will remove it as well
Or under the lid!
I came here to suggest this, but decided to skim the comments because surely someone else would have suggested it too! I was right haha
Gigi's card 😆 my daughter said she was thankful for cake in a group project for Thanksgiving. All the others would say their parents or grandparents.
Sounds like you've instilled honesty in yours 😆
@@gigi2k326 yes lol
😂 sounds like something my 3 year old would say. At least they’re being honest!
Thank God you posted! I needed my Jess fix!! That’s the thing with internet, we kinda get addicted to our “friends” posting for our own sanity!!!!

Ok, I know this is a bit gross. But, does this mean that the eggs 🥚 we eat are basically… the chickens period?? 😝
@@melissamoeller9608 Haha, gross and I get what you mean! I guess in a way, but to make me feel better I’d say no though . Chickens lay the eggs every single day. Thank goodness we don’t have periods every day. 😂

I really love watching your videos. You do and say everything so natural and always so truthfull about makeup. Keep it up.
Wow the before and after shots were awesome and so pleasing to see!!! Great job Jess
I had the same thought about chickens, eggs and roosters 🤣🤣🤣. Thank you for telling us the discovery 😁😁😁 xxx
100% yes to the dress situation and now I am very confused about chickens and eggs I’m gonna need Tyler to explain more in the next blog
