glad i found these videos im fresh out and gotta say i feel as if i just wasted the last 4 months of my life getting the exam passed have had zero help/training from the person that brought me in which is pathetic on their part
Thanks for this, I really appreciate it! I’m totally new and currently studying for my state exams for both P&C & Life licenses
Best of luck!
I know nothing about life insurance let alone selling it. There’s a job opportunity where people with no experience are being hired. Would the training that’s provided be enough for me to get started or should I not take advantage and learn more about life insurance first
Do your research and due diligence. Never rush into an "opportunity" too quickly.
Likely a 100% commission job with a MLM like structure like Primerica or AIL?
As a new agent do you work under other people or are you an independent contractor??
Well, both. You are paid as a 1099 independent contractor, but in most cases, you are associated with a direct sales organization and have an upline.
Thank you for the outline of a day in the life of...
Any time!
What does it mean if a company claims to give newbies leads?
Good question. Leads can be brand new, or years old and reworked. You'll want to ask the company you have in mind for more context.
im interested in doing this but like bro I'm not gonna just go to people's houses...if they are interested let them come to the office for an apoiontment like wut...what if you go to an appointment and dude is a psychopath and just attacks you or something...sounds so sketchy
99% of people are fine, especially if you're selling seniors. You could opt for telesales or virtual sales if you don't like the idea of in-home visits. Plenty of opportunity there.
I've been a door to door solar salesman for years. 99% of people are very normal... but I've been nearly assaulted 2-3 times in the last... 2 years in California.
I'm wanting to do door to door insurance sales.. bought to learn how to get my licenses in oklahoma. Just bought a house here and solar isn't as good in OK as cali.
What about using advertisements to get leads and automatic sign ups?
Yes it's possible but a lot of front end work and automatic sign ups isn't worth the expense and time!
How can I get hired without any experience or degree? I’m working on my license, but have no experience selling insurance.
Howdy Phil! First, no degree is required. Many top producing insurance producers are "blue collar" types that came from regular jobs and backgrounds. Second, everything in sales is learnable. I am a natural introvert, so much so that I was afraid to order a pizza by phone in my teenage years. Sales is learnable, and all about connecting with your prospect, listening intently to their problems, and showing how your product solves them.
Im just scared if I get my license nobody will hire me and I wasted my time, I’m getting better at interviews, but I’m not perfect.
Don't worry. Just about anyone will get hired for an insurance sales job.
Is that a Make Life Insurance Great Again cap?
It says, "Make Final Expense Great Again" =)
@@TheDIGAgency Trump making America great again, Duford making Final Expense great again.
Has a nice ring to it if you ask me
this was helpful, thank you
Welcome!
Any suggestions for good online school in California?? Thanks in advance 🙏🏻
Hey Sarah, no, don't have one. ExamFX though is good. But not sure if they are in Cali.
David Duford thank you 🙏🏻
Welcome!
i like the way you talk keep it up u got it kiddo!!
Thank you, I will!
Hey hope you’re doing good! I recently started my prelicensing course for life insurance and saw on a forum somewhere that having bad credit can cause problems in selling insurance..is this true? I asked the company Im getting hired as an independent agent for and they said they only do background checks, but Idk if she fully understood my question 😬
It is true, but it depends on the nature of what causes the bad credit.
@@TheDIGAgency why would an agents credit affect their selling insurance? and what sort of problems could arise due to an insurance agent having poor credit?
@@BrEaNn804 someone with poor credit MAY represent a risk as they might be more likely to make mistakes or misrepresent information to potential clients. Credit tells a story
I live in a small town and I'm thinking about getting my life insurance license. Would I have a disadvantage living in a small town?
None whatsoever. You might have to cover a larger area. But small town America is great for insurance sales.
@@TheDIGAgency so when selling life insurance you have to meet every single person in person or is there a way to do it all over the phone?
@@jasminegutierrez9480 I live in a small town too and I'm wondering the same thing I prefer to do phone and over zoom but if I have to do D2D I don't mind
Man I was really looking into this and becoming an agent until I realized you have to talk to people..... like 24/7. I don’t like working with people, like at all lol
It ain't so bad. I'm a natural introvert. It's like riding a bike. You get used to it.
Well, fyi, only other career I can think of is programming, but it's being relegated to AI.
I’m currently In college and not happy and not learning much and I wanna get into insurance, any advice on getting started into insurance?
Take your exam, figure out what product you want to sell.
I’m studying for my state exam in California online, I noticed after talking to the company that wants to hire me, that they are monitoring my progress through the site I’m using for the study course and they’re pressuring me to move faster. Is that normal procedure
Depends on the company.
Good idea
Thanks!
Do insurance agents make 100% commission after working there for a certain amount of time or do you keep getting hourly + commission?
Depends. Some do, some start right away at full 100% commission.
How do I start signing up for the course
davidduford.com/store/
How does one find leads?
Reach out to me at davidduford.com/contact/ and I can suggest a few vendors based on what product you specialize in. No catches or anything.
Prisma Orozco did you find David to be for real?
Bro gotta switch up your hat bill game
Had to bounce just cant take you seriously looking like that. Lol Good luck Sir.
Thanks for watching what you did =)
The key is to have a team and not selling the products yourself
Maybe after 5 years of hard core personal production. This business is filled with empty suits with no street cred, no actual first-hand knowledge of belly-to-belly sales experience with prospects (or over the phone sales). Who would trust a guy like that to train you?
@@TheDIGAgency I'm being "recruited" but all I hear in that process is you gotta have a team etc. Never one detail about the products they have to sell.
Sorry if this is too personal but I’m a teenager just looking at different fields and came across the job of an insurance agent, is it a stable job in terms of earning money? I want to help out my parents pay their debts and stuff so my goal is to earn enough to be able to do that
Insurance agents are basically entrepreneurs on a 100% commission basis. It's great work, but stability is not something you cannot count on starting off. There will be ups and downs. But I think it's worth it =).
David Duford oh okay, thanks for the reply!
@@ibrahimshamail3389 how did it go I’m actually in the same situation Twr I got my interview
It sounds extremely mundane. I almost signed up for my courses last night but having second thoughts.
Trust your gut.
Thought this was tony Ferguson at first
A little bit of a stretch there =)
Early
Early's better than late =)
