Today, December 3rd, is my moms birthday. She would’ve been 70. When I was a kid, every Sunday when she’d clean the house & get everything ready for the week, she’d put Led Zeppelin IV on the record player and we’d rock out. Good memories. Today I listen to this in her Honour. Cheers friends!!
This goes out to m. B. God bless our moms! I use to rock out all the time listen to this m. B. We are from bensonhurst Brooklyn new York, the area where Saturday night fever was filmed, John Travolta , disco land, ,well any way we were the only rocked out family on the block, my bothers all had long hair, motor cycle jackets, tattoos the works. My mother's favorite of all that she loved was Wendy o Williams from the plasmatics, I swear she adored her, and her favorite song was butcher baby. She would put on the album new hope for the wretched when she was washing the dishes and when that song came on , she was wendy. My mom loved , loved, loved her! When I was working at my job in the village in new York 2 weeks later I was looking out the window and I saw Wendy crossing the street, I ran out and introduced myself I couldn 't believe it! I first told her about my mother, she was so cool,
.to m. B. So I told her what big fans me and my mom are and she said she can come the next day to my store to sign some autographs and take some pix and to bring my mom if I can, I was like really Wendy? She was like sure. I went home and told mom, she was in shock. So the next day she came , I brought all my albums and pix and all kinds of stuff I had on the plasmatics and w.o w. My mom and I took alot of pix with her and we talked for 2 hours and she signed everything. She even said that I dad .
In the 80's I got yelled at by the station owner for playing this whole album on the air, commercial free, with no breaks for station identification. Lol. Totally worth it!!
I'm sixty five years old and when I listen to this album I am 15 years old again! Many other great bands in my good old days but Led Zeppelin is #1. Led Zeppelin forever, forever Led Zeppelin!

One of The Great albums of all time. Classic. I'm from Sweden but I bought it in a record store when I was in London. Thank you for post it. TAKE CARE.
I bought this album when it first came out, I was 13. Had not heard any songs on it, but figured it's Zeppelin, gotta be good. I took it home, put it on, and listened in stupefied, jaw dropping amazement. 51 years later, it still defies description. It will be a classic 1000 years from now.
I became a fan after stumbling on zeppelin 2 in 1992 at the tender age of 14. I always wondered how amazing it probably was when the world realized what they had in the 4th album particularly stairway to heaven I bet it was just mind bending and awesome so lucky you ppl of the 70's were there! front row!! so amazing!! ♥
As the generation of kids of your generation at 35 I can attest that this checked out when I was a child, now, and my child at 9 years also confirms. 100% timeless gem stone.
Even I, a Japanese person, love every song on this LP record! In 1971, I was still in elementary school, and it was about 10 years later when I became a high school student that I learned about it.
On a side note, my oldest sister got me addicted to Zeppelin in the 60’s as she bought their albums when they were first released. Rest In Peace Marieann. Gone but never forgotten.

Nov 8 2021 On this day 50 years ago, Led Zeppelin released their fourth album, untitled but referred to as Led Zeppelin 4. Regarded and hailed as their masterpiece, the album became a staple to rock music, music in the 1970s and of the 20th century. Ranging from energized hard rock (Black Dog, Rock and Roll), compelling blues rock (When The Levee Breaks), epic folk (The Battle of Evermore), and featuring their anthemic ballad signature song, Stairway To Heaven, the album solidified the band as THE band of 1970s rock, and has influenced and inspired countless bands and artists. A true gem that belongs in any music enthusiast’s collection
Absolutely fabulous,,,,every single song on every one of this God given bands albums with Robert Plant's miracle voice and the miracle band, just perfect. We were all in a great time being free, paying only $8 for tickets at stadiums, then we'd go stand in line forever but didn't mind it, for tickets that went up to $10. Wow I would love to go back for real, to see them at Heinz Stadium, Pittsburgh. Saw them many times at 3 rivers stadium and Phoenix living there. The 70s, what a great decade. We were all having a great time, just like y'all. We were crazy, literally and so much fun. Wow hahahaha Thank you guys for making us feel joy. Right on... Peace
What continues to amaze me is that they made it when they were young, early twenties at most, I bought it at 14 and it still connects at 64. Don't say rock 'n' roll ain't art!!

It's just one of those amazing albums that you just remember when and where you first heard it and being blown away! For me, I was 16 or 17 in the 90's and round my best mates house. As soon as I walked in he was like "I've just listened to this Led Zeppelin album of my Dad's and you've got to hear it - especially 'Stairway to Heaven'!".. I looked at the sleeve and was like "Really??", but sat there in awe as he played it and we listened to the whole album, there and then. Wow, just wow! Just goes to show that you must never judge an album by its cover!
To have seen them live, Mobile "73, was a life changing experience. Page was a whirling dervish, his notes hit you from all sides. This show marked the genesis of my concert years. I was privileged be a part of the greatest period of classic rock and roll. I saw many of the great acts and this show stood out, for the otherworldly guitar playing and a voice that floated around the arena, every note, crystalline.
And my god what a beautiful voice she has. They don’t allow those voices any more on major record labels. They exist, but the powers that he cannot stand the thought of something of beauty actually being successful.
Another favorite Led Zeppelin album. Still have it on the original vinyl I bought from Crazy Eddie's in Old Bridge NJ! Still listening! Zeppelin forever!
Respect to those that were around when this was released! I'm only 30 but Led Zeppelin is most definitely my favorite band! You'll be glad to know I drive around for work while blasting this album as loud as my speakers can handle it!
First time I heard this lp was when it came out! Listened to it with headphones, stoned to the bone! Completely blew me away! I remember it like it was yesterday! As I write this I have my ear buds listening to the best rock and roll band ever@ i seen them in 1975! General admission, crazy ass concert @
I just gave this vinyl album to my 14 year old boy for Christmas. I love all Led Zeppelin but this album takes me back to my childhood and simpler times........plus it just plain rocks, and holds its own even today.
This album always takes me back to where I first heard it and it became part of my regular listening. I was 12, winter '73, Southern Oregon. It was always cold, wet and foggy. This album made it a mystical time instead of just shitty weather.

This album played in my High School cafeteria everyday when it first came out. I started hs in 1971 and graduated in 1975. My sister played them back when they first came out in late sixties, as she was five years older than me and was hanging out with all the hippies that hung out at Greynolds Park in N. Miami. She saw all these bands at the Image in Miami. My first concert was the Doobie Brothers in the early seventies. It was my, my boyfriend Michael, his sister Debbie and my sister Janice with her boyfriend Danny. Those were the good oledays. My favorite concert was Boston in 1976. They were really good.
Bruce where are you? I seemed to lost you,. Oh. God, I'm tight!! All this foreign writing what's up with that man!!! We don't do that s**t here in the big apple new f****inyork
This was the first album I ever bought in 1972 when I was 13 years old at the base exchange in Misawa Japan. I still have it. Probably the greatest album ever made in my opinion.
I have the same. I listen to one and say - yes definietelly: this one is the best. Then comes the next one... Even the ones on Coda which I did not like originally are pearls when one listen to them again.
Me and my drummer loved Zeppelin so we learned every song they released ! I even picked up the mandolin ! He took his life I have missed him what feels like an eternity !
This music brings tears to my eyes. I have been away from Rock and Roll for a few years now, but time I got back. I listened to the battle of evermore and it made me cry. How many late evenings / early mornings I rode my Two stroke motorcycle home listening to it as I rode through the misty mountains from the deep valley to go home. Listening on my Walkman. I used to own almost all of their albums on cassette. And call me old but I do prefer analog over digital. I still own a good tape deck and turntable along with two Walkman. One that records and one with Mega Bass. Now time to search for analog music. How many mornings I lay in bed on my mountain top waiting for the eastern glow. How I used to boom my boom box to echo down the valley. All 36 watts. Lol Now with my old Cadillac ( yep just like the commercial, “🎼 Been a long time since I Rock and Rolled!” ) Which came with more speakers then I can count ( stock.) and a lot more then 36 watts. Time to let the music echo down the valleys again. It is time. I live in the misty mountains of the eastern glow yet work where the sun sets. Every other week I am heading to California with a aching in my mind. Searching for a woman who has never been born. I hope my adventure called life doesn’t end anytime too soon.
In Rock and Roll, there are two categories. In one category is every band ever. In the other category, there is Led Zeppelin. There must be at least a dozen ways to prove this fact, but the undeniable truth is, Led Zeppelin is comprised of four men who each by himself could have started a mega-band of his own. What distinguishes Jimmy Page, is that he did exactly that, but found three other men who are, like himself, eternally gods of their craft, and thus we have the greatest Rock and Roll band of all time, with no close second place. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Led Zeppelin.
@@davidfreeme7989 nowadays yes, but no close 2nd ?, now music = shit but back then ?, have a rethink, they were great without a doubt but they were not the only show in town, certain other english bands existed , one or two from the london area .
Led Zeppelin is and will be THE best band of all time. However, if you're looking for a close second, check out anything with Chris Cornell - Temple of the Dog, Soundgarden, Audioslave and his solo career. Master wordsmith with a beautiful 4 octave voice! The one and only Temple of the Dog album is the closest thing to real music that could have hints of talent like Zep. RIP Bonham and Cornell.
@@aimees7728 Why does everybody think, "their" band is the fucking best band EVER ! This is so lame... I got 5-10 bands on my hand, that are really GOOD... And that is good enough for me, sorry...

Reading an interesting piece in the Telegraph about the guy in the album cover photo. A local historian looking through a selection of 19th century photographs has identified the thatcher as Lot Long, a 69 year old widower who lived in the village of Mere. Little did he know he would later become immortalised on the cover of Led Zeppelin IV!
Just the fact that bands of this era put out albums with 12 or 14 tracks is amazing when you look at today's music. And then to know, they are all great songs, Zep rocks!
Feel the same brother. I'm 66, first saw Zep at the Swing auditorium in San Bernardino, Ca in 1969...opening act was Jethro Tull. I was 14, and had no idea how good I had it. ZOSO.
While dining at Cracker Barrel, I stopped by the gift shop and COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EYES! A full Led Zeppelin IV album! I BOUGHT IT! I'm 67. The last time I bought this album - I was 18 and a freshman in college. UNREAL!
I have purchased this album 7 times.we wore out the cassettes, the albums or they got stolen or misplaced and I would go and get another ,from the 70s to now, only now I have it in digital form.what an album.🤘🏻
So get it: got 2 vinyl albums (kept 1st badly SCRATCHED one since well who could throw that out!!). 2 tapes as 1 broke from overplay. 1 CD. And a Page in the pear tree 🎵
Battle of Evermore or Achilles Last Stand, or Rust in Peace the whole album by the original lead guitarist of Metallica is loaded with them too....not enough respect or awareness of RUST IN PEACE, wow, best album ever regardless of genre.
I used to wake at 3 am or so every night when I was 6 or 7 (76/77). There was ALWAYS one of the classic Zep repetitive songs like Whole Lotta Love, Black Dog or Trampled Under Foot playing and the soft yellow glow of my brothers fm receiver. He fell asleep with it on every night and it drove Zep into my brain. Thank you, Michael. That’s what big brothers are for.
Damn. At the time of this writing it's the end of 2021. Some fifty years after this album was released, it still holds up against anything released in the last 20 years,
l found Zeppelin when I was 12, in my older cousins records, and feel in love with the band, I had no idea so many people love them as much as I do, Best Rock Band Ever.
We died to listen to you albums in high school now I just listen to them because they are great like we always thought but have the help of good memories to go with each song. Someone said, “ watch it we have a rocker here!”
Yeah! In the good ol' times, bands needed to have good musicians if they wanted to be successful. They had to master their instruments, they had to write good songs with inspired lyrics, the frontman had to have charisma and the ability to communicate with the audience (in addition to being able to sing, actually...) No wonder Zeppelin still gets new fans, in addition to the old fanbase.
Once, as a teenager, I played this inmybedroom, for the500th time. Then I heared interferences from downstairs. I paused my CD. Heard the same albumlouder downstairs. My father was playing it on vinyl ! What a moment. Chills as I think about it.
@@olewetdog6254 when my dad was stationed in Hawaii, I got to meet Elvis twice during the sets of girls, girls, girls and blue Hawaii. I’m just an old woman that happened to be at the right place at the right time. I got to meet Robert Plant also and he was a very nice guy did not try to be creepy or anything with me.
It takes me back to when I first bought the album and popped it on the turntable. It's like I'm listening to the album with 19 year old ears again. I've always loved this album thanks for helping me remember why.

Unless you're a judge for the album cover of the year award
To have seen them live, Mobile "73, was a life changing experience. Page was a whirling dervish, his notes hit you from all sides. This show marked the genesis of my concert years. I was privileged be a part of the greatest period of classic rock and roll. I saw many of the great acts and this show stood out, for the otherworldly guitar playing and a voice that floated around the arena, every note, crystalline.
Timeless masterpiece by the best rock band ever👌
Sandy Denny's haunting vocal on The Battle of Evermore is heartbreakingly beautiful. A magical companion to Robert Plant's voice.
Thank you for that info. I always wondered who she was.
And my god what a beautiful voice she has. They don’t allow those voices any more on major record labels. They exist, but the powers that he cannot stand the thought of something of beauty actually being successful.
I didn't know that, will listen again, much respect to Sandy.
My favorite song...
Is she the only one they ever had a collaboration with? Certainly worthy.
Another favorite Led Zeppelin album. Still have it on the original vinyl I bought from Crazy Eddie's in Old Bridge NJ! Still listening! Zeppelin forever!
Crazy Eddie's. Lol. His prices are INSANE!
I lost count of how many times I listened to this album!
Respect to those that were around when this was released! I'm only 30 but Led Zeppelin is most definitely my favorite band! You'll be glad to know I drive around for work while blasting this album as loud as my speakers can handle it!
30 and same!
Im 70 and feel 30😊
First time I heard this lp was when it came out! Listened to it with headphones, stoned to the bone! Completely blew me away! I remember it like it was yesterday! As I write this I have my ear buds listening to the best rock and roll band ever@ i seen them in 1975! General admission, crazy ass concert @
Happy anniversary to them and all us 70's kids! : )

This album always takes me back to where I first heard it and it became part of my regular listening. I was 12, winter '73, Southern Oregon. It was always cold, wet and foggy. This album made it a mystical time instead of just shitty weather.

And then you bought Lynyrd Skynrds 1st album PRONOUNCED. Awesome ain't it?

Lol
Now with my old Cadillac ( yep just like the commercial, “🎼 Been a long time since I Rock and Rolled!” )
Which came with more speakers then I can count ( stock.) and a lot more then 36 watts.
So glad I got to see Zeppelin in concert while they were still in their prime (May, 1973). The mighty Zep could cast a spell like no other band.

Right now
I don't understand what you mean by "the drop".
So very true they were still are the gods of rock no other really comes close
@@davidfreeme7989 nowadays yes, but no close 2nd ?, now music = shit but back then ?, have a rethink, they were great without a doubt but they were not the only show in town, certain other english bands existed , one or two from the london area .
The Beatles are superior, but that's my opinion. Led Zeppelin is fantastic as well.

This album is my age , today is my birthday...so here i am again ,Whole Lotta Love LZ..
Feel the same brother. I'm 66, first saw Zep at the Swing auditorium in San Bernardino, Ca in 1969...opening act was Jethro Tull. I was 14, and had no idea how good I had it. ZOSO.

Very very, very true couldn't stress it enough
Yeah! In the good ol' times, bands needed to have good musicians if they wanted to be successful. They had to master their instruments, they had to write good songs with inspired lyrics, the frontman had to have charisma and the ability to communicate with the audience (in addition to being able to sing, actually...)
No wonder Zeppelin still gets new fans, in addition to the old fanbase.
No doubt about that.
Once, as a teenager, I played this inmybedroom, for the500th time. Then I heared interferences from downstairs. I paused my CD. Heard the same albumlouder downstairs. My father was playing it on vinyl ! What a moment. Chills as I think about it.
