2017 Kia Soul Plus - Demo of a locked tailgate operates with & without FOB nearby

This is a quick demonstration video of how a locked tailgate operates with and without the vehicle's FOB being present for a 2017 Kia Soul Plus. A 2017 Kia Soul Plus owner had their vehicle repaired after an accident and their vehicle's tailgate no longer operates in the manner demonstrated in this video. The Kia service department is claiming the tailgate does not operate in the manner I demonstrate in the video.

Don't need the keyfob when u can just smash the window, tear open the steering colum, and use a usb cord to start the car, then drive off.
Or did u manage to have them "fix" that issue by replacing the ignition parts with a different design?
There been many of those Kia Soul's and other Kias and Hyundias stolen the last year or so thanks to they bad ignition design.

That issue is only for the Kia vehicle’s with a keyed ignition switch which have no engine immobilizer. Kia Souls with a push button start are not impacted by that issue. As I stated in the video description section, this video was to assist a fellow 2017 Kia Soul Plus owner that had their Soul involved in an accident. After the repairs were completed, the tailgate release button no longer allowed the owner to unlock/open the tailgate with the FOB nearby. Their repair facility (collision shop and service department) are now telling them that their 2017 Soul Plus tailgate never operated in the manner in which I demonstrated in the video. I created this video to allow them to show the Kia service department that it does allow the tailgate to be unlocked/opened with the FOB nearby.
