ngl this is horribly balanced, 1000w is extremely overkill, z5900 is overkill, 360mm liquid cooler is beyond overkill, 11900k is pretty outdated, and 3060 is really low end for fusion or heavy effects
You are probably right about most of that. This video is quite outdated in computer years but a 1000w power supple does allow for future video card expansion or adding a capture card or a lot of things. Thank you for the comment! 👊✌️
I have to admit when I built this rig I was worried that the Resolve and Premiere may not be optimized yet for the newest hardware on the market. I personally hadn't tested the 12th gen so I did not feel confident suggesting it. Thank you for the insight 👊✌️
@@delbeaufilmproduktion7074 Ryzen is worse for Premiere, especially because the Intels have Quick Sync via the iGPU which really makes a big difference.
At the moment ddr5 waaaaay more expensive than the same amount of ddr4 ram though. And next to that you need a ddr5 capable motherboard. And since those are very new, the price will also be quite high.
Sick setup. Personally I'm gunna wait for PC to catch up to Apple when GPUs won't be necessary and built into CPUS finally (year or 2 away I guess). The cost of GPUS is bad right now (and ddr5 ram) I hope things sort themselves out next year. That setup you got will defo get a few years use from though I'm sure it's a beast
That is understandable. I just got the new M1 Max MacBook and it has been able to handle everything from complex fusion compositions to 8K BRAW footage. I am excited to test it against my i9 & RTX Titan build I typically use for work projects. Thanks for the comment 👊✌
I am a little late to the party, but the new apple stuff is pretty awesome. Something I will say about CPU's though is that they likely won't have higher end graphics inside of them for a very long time (5 to 10 years atleast), and that is something I feel like people are alright with. This means that they can upgrade each part individually instead of getting an all in one package. Luckily graphics cards are now going for way cheaper than they were a year ago, although there are some trade offs.
Great video, very helpful but you say that you have links for all this gear down below. Where? I’m interested in building this computer and would like to access your information.
I enjoyed this video and what’s more important is that your video editor loved it…thumbs up. I’m a user of both ecosystems (Apple and PC). My computers are all Intel based units with NVidia graphics cards and I have iPhones (13 pro max and 15 pro max ) and three IPads (IPad Mini 6, IPad Pro 10(M1) and IPad Pro 12.9inc (M2). They serve different needs but I can use them for any work or play I like. Which is better…both.
I'm here a little late, but can we talk about how good that black and white looks? one of the cleanest setups I have ever seen. can't wait to get all of the components together for my next build.
🤣 thank you @toastielad 🙌 I personally love the look! I would love to find 12th generation parts that fit this same aesthetic!! I appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment 👊✌️

@The Modern Filmmaker just wondering for the system os and apps how much partition needed for the 2 TB and the rest for project files as in scratch and cache file?

Thank you!! Oddly enough I live in Franklin, TN but it is good to know I don't have a southern accent 😅 There are some newer options since I put out this video. I recently got a MacBook Pro M1 Max for work for about the same price at this PC and really love it. Of course it doesn't have nearly as many storage and connectivity options but it can handle everything I throw at it with ease.
@@TheModernFilmmaker True that :/ But if it works without proxies, why spend more :) At least they got a little better, I´d maybe go with a 3060ti atm and focus more on the CPU, at least for editing in Premiere. Butt 12 Gen really is good if are willing to use Win11
Hey TMF.. quick question.. I want to make a vid of a moon passing by a view out a window. so I have the moon vid..it comes into view on the left and goes out of view on the right. camera was on tripod stationary. but not sure how to do the window part. Im thinking an image with the wall and window frame showing only.. glass part would be a hole to look thru ?
ua-cam.com/video/JOGVNUQt65g/v-deo.html In that video I show how to make masks with in the color tab. Very easy. You could mask out the window and put the moon ok the track under it. Then keyframe the Moon to move in the inspector with the "Position" settings.... 👊✌️
At this point you might want to look at the 12th gen Intel processors & motherboards that utilize the new DDR5 ram. But if your just looking to upgrade your videocard, the RTX 3060 Vision OC is a great card for video editing. 👊✌️
I don't have an update video but this is still a great build for video editing.... I am currently working on finding 12th gen components for a build that looks this good. 👊✌️
How many hours/days was that video rendering? I think I heard you say over 250 hours? That is just not doable for a project. Tell me I am wrong please.
If it can handle 4k, I say stick with 4k but if it slowing you down drastically then you might want to work in HD to make your workflow faster. Editing can already be a long process so take every shortcut you can. 👊✌️
@@TheModernFilmmaker Thank you so much for the valuable advice. maybe I expressed myself badly, I meant which is a good notebook that can hold davinci 17/18? gaming computer probably right? thank you so much
Using proxies can help depending on the footage. MP4s are actually very hard on the computer, any type of ProRes or DNxHR should give you a faster response. Thanks for the comment 👊
@@TheModernFilmmaker I think developers use the Quadro P6000 because of the 24GB VRAM which vastly speeds up rendering , If I understand things correctly , and although way slower than a 3060 the massive VRAM makes up for It . I have to ask. Win 10/11 Is there any benefit to set power management to performance for video editing?
Wrong choice with the platform. A bit more cash and you get the i9-12900k, which is a huge step up.
