This plane will certainly satisfy those seeking the "Top Gun" look, but 2 seats and 100-140 hp? It'll be interesting to see an objective flight report once the production model is fully developed and flying. Periodic build updates would be great!
Can't help but smile while watching the first one in the air. The updates all seem well thought out. Odd enough, you could easily imagine this aircraft being used for monitoring large farms, policing, surveying, or even commuter use for folk who've got to get city to city with minimal fuss.
The kitty likes it, and I'd love to see more! Anything other than a '30's cub design, that is kit built, is cool! This one just seems like such a good idea!! 8) --gary
They have them on their website. It says mid $40k for the single seater and mid $50k for the dual seater. With that said i agree with wanting to know how much it costs once it is all done and ready to go
Light Sport? At the moment, with current rules, no it would not. It has retractable landing gear. And with the proposed engine I think the speeds would be above the limits as well. But things mat change very soon on the rules.
Just don't understand how people can say so little when asked a question ❓. Yes so much so I'll say it again Yes find away to do daily videos of this build, i think so many people will be inspired to build and fly. I've been wanting to fly my whole life, never was able to found it. I was given a plane it's allmost finished and it's going to be sold as soon as it's done. Don't think i will use it myself, but my daughter said she will take it out make videos to show it's abilities in the daytime and nighttime, it's a custom rebuild not the same plane any more. I need your video to inspire me to finish my project to sell it so I can get the equipment I need to build what I want to build. A super ultra lite amphibious vehicle, land "sea" (water) and air. It's really amazing to remember the first time you stuck your hand out a moving car window. Each and every day of your life. I remember the first time I drove each day of my life. My mom and brother thought they were going to die. But not me, they should have known better. Not a scratch, me screaming i I want to do it again, and both of them creaming trying to get the key out of the ignition. Please if you going to indulge spoilering kids, let them do it again, by themselves with no one else around. Need to clean "bat cave" get new and more tools, I've built it in my head too many times, Please i need the inspiration do a daily build of this plane. Thanks for asking,(do i want to see more). ( YES) It's a long read, thanks for reading as well.
I notice the registration is in the Canadian Ultralight category. (14:34) Is there a Canadian distributor? I've been retired from aviation for a few years, but would love to get back into it!! Thanks for the video! 👍
Really cool engineering. I´m interested in the performance numbers once they get into flight tests on the production model. For me it has a lot of plus and a few negative. Very cool design though.
Even for military planes, lots of them are 2 seats, single seat limit what the airplane can do. A 2 seat give options, you can always leave the second seat uninstalled or fly alone, with better performance with such a small plane. The single seat , you have no choice what so ever and I doubt it is much more expensive. What engine you have in mind?
If they end up offering this in a retractable gear kit for under $60K, I (and many more like me) might be interested. They would have to make the VNE ar least 210kts to be realistic. What they have is indeed cool, but it is a nech market. I wish them the best and told them when I visited their booth at 2023 OshKosh. I even signed the Airframe while there.
I still think this one is a candidate for carbon fiber OML over an aluminum and steel frame. I am not fond of the exposed seams I am seeing here. That canopy is a vast improvement over what they had though.
i noticed all the viewers not look at each other when he said for retired fighter pilots that still want that feel ... not exactly a back country bush plane but fascinating ,definitely keep track , will be interesting to see its performance specs with the uprated power plants .I would buy it for that canopy !? ,I wonder if they could seal it ?, whole thing looks like it should be at 30 000 feet .
@@jdubs-dragonfly I think that was with a much smaller power plant ,I seem to remember 40 hp was all the original builder could get ? . does remind of the channel wings idea .
It might be a stupid question but, is there dead space between spars, or other spots in fuselage? If so could styrofoam be added for boyancy in case of a w emergency water landing?
Need to smooth the entire skin , “ I want her Fast “ ( the aviator ) canopy is a great design addition . Gear retraction and compartment . : aerospace engineer I can help !
One wonders, could you retrofit this thing with some batteries and an electric motor? I know the battery tech isn't there yet to make it ideal to go fully electric, but one still wonders...
YES! Show us "The Build" 🙂 That may help in selling the aircraft 🙂
That canopy makes all the difference.. it looks so much better now
Yes, cover the build.
Can't wait to hear a flight report for the 2 seater. Yes! Show us the build!!!
This airplane has always impressed me. Glad to see it progressing.
Nice to get an update on the Archon.
It's the last update
@@stephaniedecobecq8839 Cryptic. What does that mean?
I like that kitty 😺
Do you know Little Early Pearly?
@@tomcoryell I bummed a ride off him one time.
Quality control kitty
Can’t wait to see where this goes!!!

Yes please! I want to see that build taking place!! 😃

Great design, especially the full lift body aspect. Really interested to see the production model finished and to find out the price of the kit.
They have them on their website. It says mid $40k for the single seater and mid $50k for the dual seater. With that said i agree with wanting to know how much it costs once it is all done and ready to go
I would love to see this build, wish they were building 10 @ time, I like it
We want to see the build - and anything else you can show us! We love Archon! 👍
This plan is so flippin cool! And the new updates are awsome! Too coool!
This aircraft seems very well thought out. Kudos guys. 👍
Yes yes yes yes yes yes please cover the build
Love that bird man! Keep up with the progress please. Thx Brian
Sure Why Not, this Build is a New Experimental one! Right in your Wheelhouse! Bring it On!!!
Awesome!!! I love this plane design!
Yes please cover the build...also I was wondering if this aircraft would qualify for as a light sport aircraft.
Light Sport? At the moment, with current rules, no it would not. It has retractable landing gear. And with the proposed engine I think the speeds would be above the limits as well. But things mat change very soon on the rules.
It would be really neat to see the complete build.

Awesome!!! Thank you ! and Yes video the build! can't wait to fly it!
Looks solid guys.... would love to fly one, but I am just an old tail drag guy, so I will just watch the young boy's show this machine off!!!!
Hey Robert anybody can fly an ultralight just have to find somebody you can teach you

Can’t wait to see the progress
Definitely would like to see the build!
Awesome aircraft looks so cool! Please beware of a short coupled tail, maybe having two will cover that... done any stall recovery.. and spin?
Please cover the build of this plane!
Nice kit. Nice kitty.
What is the glide ratio with engine out?
Looks great. What is the main wing airfoil section?
Let's see the build looks pretty interesting
Yes, I would love to see it.
Yep I wanna see that build 1000X
Turbine power?
Bryan thanks for your continued great content!👍This is exciting, lets do this!
I hope to return to capture THE BUILD of the "In Production" model.
I second the motion.

Intrigued and excited.
Outstanding Looking Aircraft! 😂
We need to see a build video series!!!!!
What kinda price tag been waiting 2 years now …. If you need help I’m retired now !
Pretty cool. I’d like to see the build.
Absolutely!!! Cover the build!
yeah, you definitely need one :)
2:00 also another kit shop with a cat. approve.
This reminds me of q documentary years ago " the defender" nfb.
Concept was to build cheaper aircraft than the newly acquired f18 of the caf.
Just subscribed to your channel. Please record the build and publish the videos as you go!
I would love to see the build on this.
You should do an episode on that Zenith 801 in the background!

I'm with you. Performance must be notable to exceptional to grab available demand; if not, kinda geeky.
90mph maneuvering speed and 45mph stall means it probably isn't super snappy on the controls. Cruise is 110mph.
@@jdubs-dragonfly I think that was with a much smaller power plant ,I seem to remember 40 hp was all the original builder could get ? . does remind of the channel wings idea .
@@jdubs-dragonfly Even at ultralight speeds it fits a fun niche. At 150+ knots it would lose it's cuteness.

Yes I want to see the build
The cat says "gimme a ride buddy!" . . . 😆
Will the UL line of engines work in the design?
Is there any chance of mini turbine engines getting mounted? Are there any updates on the build?
A foam board pusher jet all grown up 😂
That's what I want at ultralight speeds! A Miata plane. Sporty car, not a Sports car.
I’m just waiting !
Yes please
The one thing that you never want to hear from an aircraft designer, “The RUSH is to get one flying by,,,”
Lets see the build in GA.
The new canopy makes it a lot less goofy looking
Love it!
What an exciting kit. I would sell my vans kit and buy one of these if they come available. Do we get a free cat with a purchase?
Yes, cover the build!
Who made the canopy?
It's about 18 ft / 5.5mtrs in length with more rigidity and smooth canopy 👍
Make video on the murphy radical this year
Love to see the build.l
Is it a single seat 103
Let’s see the build!
Would love to see the build
Cool.
That’s like one of those airhogs airplanes just large scale..
do it cover the build i havent seen any new build series on any channel lately
do they sell it with a jet engine?
Show the build plse Brian!!
Need to smooth the entire skin , “ I want her Fast “ ( the aviator ) canopy is a great design addition . Gear retraction and compartment .
: aerospace engineer I can help !
Show us the build, yes please!!!!!
Do it!😁
Please let us, see the build👍🥹❤️
Capture build please
Looks very similar
One wonders, could you retrofit this thing with some batteries and an electric motor? I know the battery tech isn't there yet to make it ideal to go fully electric, but one still wonders...
Do you get a complimentary cardboard George Jetson with each purchase of an Archon kit?
Please record the build.
Looks like it underwent a thorough CatScan...
I want one.
I think they are already building those in S. Africa. lol :)
SF Archon-2 deserves a canopy opening the safe, not the suicide way, and microturbine propulsion.
Cost without an engine?
This aircraft is gonna make stop kicking around the idea of getting a pilots license and just make it happen
Please cover the build
Please capture the build for the channel.
