Ironically, most modern car V12 engines are way to small to be a 70% merlin... It would need to be 9.3L. But if we ignore that and just look at the horse power, that is about 440hp or there abouts. Well inside range of most V12 avalible today. If you had a true 70% scale merlin it would be 255kg, that would be to heavy for this airframe.
Great to see an Engineer that is able to answer any question at anytime, on the spot! Great job and a beautiful plane. Well above my skill level but awesome to see.
Polish build mustang. German only design as they lost capacity and skills of manufacture long time ago. All they cars and motorbikes are assembled only. All production of parts is in china or the rest of Europe.
So a scaled down M2 would fire .338 lapua mag. 8.6 x 70 with a 300gr bullet or does someone have a different cartridge that would be nearly 70% of 50bmg or would it be better to produce an exact 70% wildcat cartridge? Also would we be able to lighten the gun maybe by making non pressure parts from a lighter metal and the pressure parts thinner since it is'nt going to have as much pressure or recoil?
there would be a huge market for that... seriously ! imagine a B17 of a smaller scale or even full scale... built using modern methods... just upgrade the proven most desirable stuff... talking flat screens and analog for back up... sound absorbtion honey comb skin... such a thing could even be somewhat stealthy as the radar beams would get trapped inside the skin and bounce around ... never at all beaming back to the collection array... so much you could do... and u could do it so much cheaper... even the engines and all of its components could be upgraded in a big way... Dennis lets pray someone with deep pockets gets the same idea or maybe one of us will win a lottery or something lol.

Strap a Merlin on the front of this thing and you still won't be able to exceed 216kts. The extra power isn't worth much of anything without an increased Vne
@@Skinflaps_Meatslapper Interesting that it would be limited in this way. Why build something that LOOKS like a P-51, but does not perform more like a "hot rod"? It's like those lambo kit cars based on a Pontiac Fiero or Volkswagen beetle running gear. Sure, it LOOKS like a lambo, but it still performs like a relatively slow economy car. @@RitzRT Giving this plane more power would be very similar to retrofitting a 400HP turbo hayabusa engine in a moped that experiences an unavoidable high speed wobble at 65mph. Sure, you'd get up to speed quick...real quick...probably doing a wheelie the entire time...but you won't be busting through that 65mph mark unless you just feel like dying. The reason why they made this plane with an inherent speed limit is because they had no interest in making it based on performance. It started off as a scale RC plane meant to look like a mustang, and they simply scaled it up to fit people. The whole thing is based on appearances alone, and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they called it a success after finding out it could only fly 100mph.
