I am 6’, 240 lbs +/- 5, athletic build, and fit in the carbon buckets with no issues. My only issue is getting out of them due to lack of hip mobility.
These seats are a bargain for $4500. They are what made my m5cs special. If you are fat or super tall or have love handles, maybe get the stock seats. If you drive hard and are 5-10 or less and 185 or less - get these because they change the driving experience for the better and they save weight off the car. I have a 22 m5C, 22 m5cs, 23 m8C. The m8 has similar seats to the standard m3 and they are comfortable however they don’t hold you in place if driving hard. The m5 comp seats are really comfortable but suck and are heavy. If you are an enthusiast and drive hard get the carbon buckets - everyone wants them. Anyone mentioning the $4500 cost factor in determining if getting the seats cannot afford the m3 to begin with. $4500 is a splash in the bucket for a g80 or anything else with those seats 😅
A part of the reason for getting this car for me is the daily drivability. For an extra driving experience that I would get vs the daily comfort/usability is not even a close call. Stock cooled/heated seats for me, not even close.
The carbon seats literally make a different car. It completely transforms the entire driving experience for the better and i could not be happier that i specced them.
@@DrivenReality You made some great points about those seats that a lot of people may not realize at first. I had a 2018 M4 Competition and the seat bolster got worn out within a year or so. I opted against them and actually optioned a sunroof when I ordered my G80 6MT… the M3 is not a race car despite what people want to convey to others… its a sporty road car and BMW M always has made the best daily drivable sports cars. This carbon seat is a far step in the other direction. At the end of the day a 911 or Boxster is significantly less weight and far more chuckable in the corners.
I am glad i didn't get the Carbon Seats for my 22 BMW M4 Comp. I tried them in the showroom, and it took a "year" to get out of the seat. The Carbon Seats yuk!
BMW should take the price off the original seats that you would get with the car anyway. It just seems like they are excluding at least $2000 or more for the originals and the customer has to pay an additional $4500 for carbon seats. Sounds like a nice money grabber to me 😮

Why don't they pack the first ok seats that I already paid for? Because they are rude from BMW and because there are always sheep to suck.
I hope BMW are saying to their customers a standard M3 with standard seats is $100000 like you said. Then hopefully they take the price off the standard seats and say they are $2000. So for example you should be paying $2500 for the carbon seats right. Not $4500.

The middle carbon „ball holder“ is actually for racing harness belts.
