    Hi my name is Rex and this is my RC channel!
    There is never enough RC CONTENT on youTube, so I make videos for myself to watch as well!
    This is my second Journey with RC, but I missed documenting my first, so here we go!
    I’m Canadian eh!
    VIdeos are filmed on my cell phone, edited on my cell phone, and uploaded from my cell phone, and best viewed on a cell phone.
    MAKE IT A GREAT DAY!

    I have one of these that I upgraded with a SuperStock BZ and "M" series oil filled dampers. I saw this mentioned before about this chassis throwing drive axles when using oil filled dampers. I had the same problem. There is a simple solution to this. I'm going to be very clinical in the solution. The basic setup for this kit has you follow the "high" setup for steps 24 and 29 in the instructions. Go with the "low" setup and use the bottom hole. That will solve the problems without the use of spacers on various components. Since changing over to the "low" setup, I have no problems at all and my Rally beetle is hauling ass. Cheers!

    • @rexrcs
      @rexrcs  Рік тому

      Yes, thank you thats a great solution! For now Ive recently converted it to rwd only and I dont have to worry about dogbones, 😅. Video of it will come soon

  • @tm5123

    put a couple of spacers inside the oilshocks, to limit travel just so, that the driveshafts dont drop out. Did that with my own mf-01x. Its a bit of a wonky contraption from tamiya, the rear rightside upperlink had me totally baffled when I was constructing it. Then again, the end of the travel blocked by the propshaft gearhousing, is about the limit of the suspension travel where after the driveshafts can fall out. It drives very nicely tho, just needs a bit of rigging to get it nice and proper :D Lovely vid mate. :D

      hi, the escort model is gorgeous. electronic choices depend on your budget and purpose, I'm currently using the Torque Tuned motor that came with the car and it works great, Id also recommend not too fast, the car is not designed to take corners at super speeds

    Which motor do you use? Does Tamiya offer Beetle kits with both on- and offroad chassis?

      @rexrcs  2 роки тому

      Hi Magnus, yes Tamiya does offer this body in both a 4wd MF-01X chassis, and they also have a beetle option on the M-06 rwd chassis. in this video I used a Torque tuned motor

    @andyknuckles2903 2 роки тому +1

    How do you feel about the power and speed? Worthwhile to go brushless?

    • @rexrcs
      @rexrcs  2 роки тому +1

      Currently using the torque tuned with a 21tooth pinion it’s fairly quick for a medium track, If I were to be playing in a wide open area I could do with more speed, but the car is so small and the wheels are so small, with suspension travel very minimal I dont see this doing well at high speeds outdoor, without modification. Brushless is always good for at least efficiency, do it 👍 maybe 17.5brushless or something just under
