If I'm looking to do the same wall but want LED accent lighting on both sides of all the boards would you recommend running a smaller piece behind the boards or cutting a channel in each board?
We would recommend running a smaller piece behind the boards! Thanks for your interest in our channel!
Running behind the boards is much quicker and easier but also means more material and time. If you want to save money but spend more time you can route a channel on the backside of every piece. Cordless router would be most effective for this. Hope that helps!
So is it recommended to flat out the texture with mud or is this just a preference/budget from the customer? I’m debating to do my wall similar but it’s currently texture
Sand and skim the wall first. It makes the caulking much easier and looks much better. Remember, your wall will be a piece of art...your art. Always frame your art. You need a board at the top and both sides as well as the bottom. It's more expensive but worth it especially if you do it yourself. Good luck and best wishes.
That is a great question. It is just personal preference and a budget decision. A re-texture would add a day to the project.
