Helpful video, thanks! For visitors the first most important thing is to learn about the culture and the norms. Japan is a place hugely driven by its culture and you miss a lot if you don't learn about it and be respectful of it. Not disturbing others in the shared spaces is a big cultural value so things like being quiet on the trains is very important, not sitting on the ground in public, loud drunkenness, blocking the sidewalk etc. Please don't ruin local areas for residents by posting private places on your Instagram for clicks. Japan is amazing but its a place where everyone benefits if you do your research and follow the norms.
For my country (Philippines) there is a different set of airlines that fly to Haneda and Narita. The more expensive international airlines have flights to Haneda, while the cheaper airlines have flights to Narita. It cost $100 - $150 more to fly to Haneda. For the JR pass, they increased the price last October 2023, and it's only of JR owned transportation services.
Me, my wife and sister in law are visiting Japan at the beginning of of October 2024. We stay the first couple of days in Tokyo in Shinjuku. We are looking for some proper bars/clubs where you can enjoy the evening to its fullest, somewhere where it’s not to expensive and honest for tourist. Besides Tokyo, we are visiting Osaka and Kyoto…
Haven't been to this place yet since it opened after my last trip, but Kabukicho Tower has a very popular entertainment complex with restaurants, bars, a couple of hotels, movie theaters, etc. Located in the heart of Kabuchiko/Shinjuku across the street from the Gracery (Godzilla) Hotel.
Hi! Thanks for the video! My family and I are traveling in March and want to go to Osaka first, but we are landing in Narita. Do you have a suggestion for best way to get to Osaka by train when we arrive? Thanks for any guidance!
Taking the train or shinkansen would be the best option. If you’ll be moving a lot in Japan, then getting the JR pass might be worth it. Hope you’ll have a great time!
Thanks for all the info,s I did download the Suica App, though haven’t really found out how to upload money. I learned that it is best to buy a welcome Suica Card at the Airport,
I’ve just back from Japan first time ; my recommendation 1;Pack light backpack washing machine in hotels 2; I got JR pass a must first class travel on Shinkansen train everywhere 3; Kyoto a great base to travel from. Amazing city, also stay a night or two at Hiroshima, Kanazawa, Mt Fuji, Tokyo good for Disney land,Disney sea,but full on busy,
You've got to do a lot of long distance travel by Shinkansen to make the JR pass pay off even a little after the huge price increases last fall. Also, you can't travel on the most frequent and fastest Tokaido-Sanyo Shinkansen trains, the Nozomi, without paying extra.
Love this! I live in Shizuoka right now and was living in Tokyo for two years before. There are always so many things to discover new! Thanks for the Inspo 😊 Have you been to Shizuoka before?
Thanks! No I haven’t but heard a lot of good things about it ☺️ can’t wait to go back to Japan to explore more. How was your experience living in Tokyo?
@@DianHuang Oh yeah, maybe next time you're in Japan it's worth a visit! 😊 Living in Tokyo was great! There's always so much to discover and explore, it doesn't get boring. Commuting times can be tiring, it took me about 90 minutes to go to university (from my university dormitory haha) and when working, there are also so many rules; but you get used to it. All in all it's great to live in Tokyo!
@@dawnadavis8642 Oh it depends on what you like! Tokyo has some great offers that can still be moderate cost-wise; APA hotel is a popular chain for example, they have these all around Japan and they are always in well connected places! If you check out the rooms online and you like them, I would go for these because they are so convenient :) For the location, I think Shinjuku is super central and you can reach everything very easily!
5:51 Also take note that the mobile IC card is only available in iOS with only Suica, ICOCA, and PASMO available. Apparently, Japanese android phones support mobile IC cards
Aloha Dian, my 3rd trip to Japan but first time in Tokyo! we will be in Japan 11/1/24 for the month, very excited to see Tokyo, we will be staying in Shibuya! My question for you is your favorite ramen place in Tokyo? Have you been to Koko Head in Tokyo yet? Sadly, leave Tokyo then to a member only hot spring hotel in Yugawara for a couple days then off to Hiroshima to visit my mother-in-law and wife's sister and all the Ohana then a week in Osaka and Kyoto then back to Hiroshima and Miyajima Island then back to Tokyo then home to Maui. Your video is one of the best I've seen with great information! BTW what was your hidden spot restaurant you mentioned towards the end of your video? as a retired chef, I love hidden surprises! Mahalo Dian
If you are going to Japan for the first time and have only about a week, go to Kyoto! Stay in Kyoto and take day trips to Osaka, Nara. I think Tokyo is not that great.
I went to Kyoto last time but it was too crowded. But it’s still one of the best place to experience Japan. Tokyo this time feels so great because surprisingly there weren’t many people.
Flying into Haneda from here, the cost is so much more than Narita! We will fly into Narita and take the train into Tokyo saving us over a $1,000!! We will suffer through the long ride.
I’m going in March/April 2025 for 6 weeks on a working holiday. I saw your recommendation for insurance. Would that be the best choice for a trip of that length? I’ll be all over the country during my visit.
Oh great video, very interesting information. I'm also trying to build a channel with travel content, hope one day it can grow to a fraction of your channel LMAO 🤣🤣🤣
This may sound like a stupid question, but is there a possibility to get cutlery to eat, like a fork? I can't use the chopsticks and am afraid I would stay hungry 😂 Please somebody tell me it's possible 😊
Hi , Miss Huang. Do you know about Nanjing Massacre and Unit 731? Since you are introducing Japan to the world world, so it's important for people from Europe and US to know about Nanjing Massacre and Unit 731. This is the most important history in human. Europeans and Americans are not educated in their schools about Nanjing Massacre and Unit 731, so it's better to tell them about the history.

why would you go to disney land.. IN FRIGGIN JAPAN?!?! it’s murican shit and japan has more to offer than a dumb amusement park… holy heck

One of the best found on this trip in Osaka is called Fishmonger Stand Fujiko and Azabu Note A5 Wagyu in Tokyo
Pokonya kalo travel2an percaya banget sama Dian 😂 pernah liat se-passionate apa ngebuat effective itinerary 🤭 learn a lot from u, tencuuu~
I kept thinking your mic was your knee!

Great Info for our first trip in Nov. what’s your thoughts about arriving at NRT and leaving out of KEI?
What's the name of the hidden spot restaurant with the fresh seafood?
Fishmonger stand fujiko, you can check all my recommendations in my previous vlogs! Try the other okonomiyaki restaurant too if you’re in osaka
Very Informative. Guys may I know whats the weather in osaka this coming nov2024? I'm going to visit there.
can’t find the app you mentioned. Is it only avai in Japan?
I think it’s different for iOS and Android so check that on both apps
I’m using the Suica one
I couldn't find the tabelog app in IOS but i found the website. Is that the same as the app?
suica is NOT available on android. you have to buy the physical card at the airport or the train station.
Thank you

No but it's ok. Go to the train station and get whatever IC card they have. It's like having a debt card.
suica is NOT available on android. you have to buy the physical card at the airport or the train station.
Question for you, the app that does reviews with local spots. The whole thing is in Japanese is there a way to change the language ?
Is there a package for visiting multiple temples/shrines in kyoto?

You can adjust how long you want the insurance coverage to last but I personally just keep using it because it works everywhere you go
I have already got my jr pass exchange order but now I’m wondering if it’s not really worth
You can check how many times you’ll br using Shinkansen to see if its a good deal. If you’ll be traveling a lot by train it might be worth it
