bleunt A lot of games *now*: this game released in 1994. This game featured five playable characters (itself unusual at the time); while each character has their own separate stage now (and in the final stage), the ones in between allow you to use anyone. So... allowing Wolverine his healing factor (I don't remember him having it in this game) would have meant nerfing him elsewhere to balance his play out against the other four.
As someone that played a lot of the contemporary X-Men games from the time, no Healing Factor (which in the comics was slower at the time anyway) was a small price to pay for having access to your "mutant powers" all the time. Other games either limited your claw use or were insanely hard. X-Men: Adamantium Rampage for example had a slow healing factor and didn't limit your use of Wolverine's Claws, but it had poor controls and I at least found it difficult at the time. X-Men Mutant Apocalypse on the other hand was pretty easy. Then again I actually used the Street Fighter style commands to access more impressive moves. These two are just having fun, so they probably didn't think to try a Shoryuken or Hadoken style command.

I feel like one of the few people that started off saying give Danny a chance when he first came on. He was a little awkward at first, but he came into his role very well.

Paladin Null To be honest I always thought of it as a welcome change. I liked Jontron's actual reviews more than his GG episodes and the Original Punch Out series remains my favourite GG series of all time.

Danny and Ross are cutest. I remember the day that Steam Train joined the show and Danny became Not-So-Grump, I rewatched NSP's "Let's Get This Terrible Party Started" video. I had always been kind of indifferent to NSP, but I remembered thinking, "huh. You know, this is pretty funny. And either way, the Dan guy seems like he's just a good dude. Maybe this'll actually work out, bring some new flavor to the show." And that's exactly what happened. I left a comment that was something to the effect of "You're taking on a lot of responsibility as the new Not-So-Grump, but you can do it," and it got some positive responses, so that made me feel like even though everything was on fire and burning in the GG fandom, as things have always gone in the GG fandom, a few weeks later it would be all sorted out. And sure enough, within a few weeks everyone had accepted Danny, and within a few months, everyone loved Danny. So there you go!
What episode did everyone start liking Dan and Ross? Mine was their LP of Civ 5. Not only was it incredibly hilarious and entertaining, but it actually made me buy my first civilization game :) thank you guys so much for putting up with us for so long

Honestly, I think Danny was a great replacement for Jon. Over the past year, he's proved to be a great cohost, and I honestly think he brings a whole lot more. I can't even picture GG without Danny anymore. Don't get me wrong, I still think it'd be cool if Jon came back, but I'd hate if it meant Danny leaving. Anyways, enough about that, here's to many more years!

I subscribed to Game Grumps this year, and was Danny really the most hated man on UA-cam when he replaced Jon? Dude is such a chill guy though!
destinyawaitsx3 He was. The shitstorm was INCREDIBLE. I started watching the show when it first launched and stopped watching right before Jon left. So I was a bit confused when I came back so I read through the reddit threads. And man people were HATING and taking sites. Not a pleasent thing.

It was just the sudden replacement of Jon. Had it been a smoother transition it wouldn't have happened. People would have been disstatisfied still, but he people wouldn't have been as hostile. With me it's the other way around, I liked Danny at the beginning, since Jon became unlikeable during the ending and I was REALLY glad that there was a change, but now I... don't really DISlike Danny, but I don't find him as entertaining as Jon. I also think that Arin has become less funny. And less likeable as well. Way less likeable.
Let's be serious here, the fact that Danny got so much hate is because it was so sudden and Arin refused to even acknowledge Jon apart from the "Ode to Jon" video.
What you have to remember is that the first wave of subscribers were made up exclusively of Egoraptor and JonTronShow fans. For many, Jon leaving must have felt like a disaster.
That's just my take on it from watching others react to the situation as it happened.

Anything to see more Danny in person! No but seriously, I can't believe that I was angry at Dan when he first joined, he's surpassed all of my expectations for "not so grump" and more! When I was first diagnosed with depression it seemed like a fresh hell had opened up, especially since all the people around me started to treat me different but as cheesy as it sounds, it's thanks to Danny that I'm doing as well as I am, seeing the brightside of somebody who was in the same situation as I am now and who now has almost everything they could ever dream of is wonderful, and all whilst being a sweet, humble generous human being! Thanks so much Dan, I hope you realise that you're more to some people than a silly internet comedian! xxx

Danny, Ross, I would like to apologize. I was actually one of many people that didn't like the idea of Jon being replaced by Danny and especially the idea of Steam train. But after seeing you guys play some of my childhood games all the while cracking a few Jokes, having a few "damn it Ross" moments and generally keeping the audience entertained, I can say that you are both doing a fantastic job and still are to this very day. Keep up the good work!

Jons sense of humor never really grabbed me, I tried to watch Grumps pre- Danny and i just couldn't....but a little later Danny came around and I rewatched and its fucking hilarious. Now its been almost 5 years and its still funny and stupid as fuck.

Wow 2 years... I remember Dan first coming on and I was just done with game grumps but after watching that first punch out play through I just accepted how awesome he was, same for Ross. You guys made what Arin and Jon started even better and these past years of watching you guys have given me some of the most positive feelings in the world, even as recent as today. Just having such a shitty day just wanting it to be over and just deciding to put UA-cam on and watching that opening made me feel better about myself. I love you grumps keep doing what you're doing, you guys are the people I look up to and what to be like. Kind, funny and amazing people. Thank you for the last 2 years Danny and Ross, I hope the coming ones are just as awesome. :)
I've watched Grumps since episode 1, and I have to say Danny and Ross, although they will never replace Jon, have grown on me like a bunch of weeds. Cute weeds, weeds that people don't recognize as weeds. (bees like weeds, this proves it. and no, I don't mean..weed weeds. but maybe Danny.. eh.)
