The culture was so much more creative back then. People took risks, and BOLD risks, whether that was career risks, shooting to get into a great college, going after that hot girl who seemed unattainable. And the risks paid off --- so often people succeeded with these bold risks. I've also noticed that in music the artists collaborated so much more. You saw individual artists partnering more --- Bowie and Queen, Mick Jagger producing for Peter Wolf, Stevie Nicks doing duets, Rod Stewart and Ronald Isley. Live Aid, Do They Know It's Christmastime. Mick Jagger and David Bowie. It was so dynamic.
I was just a kid but I remember those days like it was yesterday.. Punk rockers, Mohawks, cassette tapes, malls were the hangout spot , the cars 🚗, Madonna was my Mom’s favorite person, Shows like Fraggel Rock and we always ate at blimpies
I like duets back then. George Michael and Aretha Franklin- I Knew You Were Waiting /a couple duets of Michael Jackson and Sir Paul McCartney- Say,Say,Say! and The Dog Gone Girl is mine. / Ooooh....last but not least Eddie Money ft. Ronnie Spector-Take Me Home Tonight
So True I remembered the song just now, it's one of my favorites from Gloria, I must say I'm deeply touched by the Expression in tone of how she sings it, I absolutely agree it's one of her best that was just not recognized at the time, OneLove!
Well it’s 2024 I was in high school in the early 80s I would play this song over and over. Now at 60 I still play this song over and over, the 80s music will never fade away
Sometimes it’s easy to forget how many hits she had because there are many. I have not heard this song in over 30 years. Was listening to the 80’s channel on SiriusXM and this song came up, so here I am. The 80’s were the best, I am blessed!
I had completely forgotten this song even existed. I wasn't really a fan of the band, but my dad played them on repeat so they're the soundtrack to my childhood home life. I heard it at the grocery store the other day and it immediately took me back 30 years, so I rang up Pops and reminded him of it. He'd forgotten it too lol. Great memory!
I hope you and dad are currently happy and healthy friend.I lost my father close to ten years ago but I feel so fortunate to still have the woman who gave birth to me. Take care!@@weylandyutanicorporate
I was born in 84 so I only remember the later part of the 80’s, now I’m 40, I much prefer listening to this, modern music isn’t very good! This is a great tune!
I used to have an ex colleague of mine taking pictures at a beach in Palm Beach Gardens, suddenly a little dog comes up to him, he pets a dog, and then Gloria Estefan, says thank you for finding my dog. He didn't not know what to say to her.... frozen by greatness....
there was nothing like the 80's . never will, at that time, mid 80`s, i moved to los angeles, america was such a great place to work and live, sadly... those days are gone forever.. i'd give whatever life i have left to go back to that time .. i mean it..!!!
I was at the Home Depo yesterday in the tool isle and this song came on, and I could not believe it. This song had gone into oblivion and I just never thought about it. I play Gloria Estafan and the Miami sound machine songs sometime, but I did not know who made this song back in the 80s, I always thought it was one of the debut artist because they did not play it a lot. Thanks to Google, I went to a quiet section of the store and hummed the ( Uh Uh Uh oh falling in love) into Google and bam, I've been playing it ever since. Now I know it is her so I will play it when I play her music, thanks to The Home Depo and Google. What a beautiful song.
After reading comments, I have to say that this is definitely their best album, by a wide margin. I don’t think just this song is under appreciated - I think this whole album is under appreciated. Almost every song is good.
The PRIMITIVE LOVE album by Miami Sound Machine is what started Gloria's hit parade. "Conga", "Bad Boy", "Words Get In the Way" and this song were the first four singles that were big on American top 40.
This song is so underrated. It’s really one of the best pop love songs of its time and yet I never heard it that much when it was released. Gloria E. is such a versatile singer with such presence.
Back in January I ran to the supermarket on a Sunday night, and in the car I was listening to Casey Kasem's American Top 40 The '80's, and this song came on, and I remembered it so well. I had completely forgotten about it. But when I heard it I was transported back to that time because I hadn't heard it since then, so all my emotions associated with it were from the times I heard it in the '80's.
I challenge anyone to find a more pristine, wholesome, clean and uncluttered singer than Gloria. Sorry but you will not find one these days. The era has past into history and will never return. Such an amazing talent and breath of fresh air.
Doesn't that voice make you feel as though you are melting? What happened to all those years? You know Gloria you were just one amazing voices who brought me through my young adulthood. Where would we have been without you. So glad you were part of our lives.
I bought this album in 1985 on wife's and my 1st anniversary. We did not have much and listened to this song so many times over dinner. In 1994, my then-three year old daughter used to love to sing 'Uh-Oh" when this song was played. It brings back so many memories.
This song brings me back to 1986 when I was in 11th grade, dating my first serious girlfriend (who I did fall in love with). Between classes walking the halls with her as if 10 feet off the ground with butterflies in my stomach. Truly a special time, and Gloria’s melancholy tone and beautiful voice makes me long to relive those wonderful memories. I am so grateful I grew up in the 80’s cuz there’s never been a better time since.
Fan of every one of her songs. There's just something about the quality and tonality of the sound you just can't get anymore of it today. How should I put it... When I close my eyes and listen it has that ability to take you somewhere far far away into another place and time and you're just lost in that moment. When I tell people that I love the sounds of the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, all generations of music - they look at me like I'm some 60 year old when I'm just 35. I just love it, that's all.
It must have been fun being in Miami in the early/mid 80's. The Miami Sound Machine was killing it, Miami Vice was on TV, Scarface was on the big screen, and the Dolphins had Dan Marino. Must have been one big party.
Hell yeah it was! I'm from Miami and grew up during that time period. It truly was a magical time and place to grow up back then. I miss those days like you couldn't imagine. Oh yeah, and it was a treat watching Marino and the Fins kicking ass at the old Orange Bowl.
My mom was 24 when this song came out. She got to enjoy all the good music. I was born in the late 80s and I grew listening to songs my parents played I still listen to them.
I have some great '80s tunes for you, if you haven't heard them already: * I Knew You Were Waiting For Me (George Michael/Aretha Franklin) * Waiting For A Star To Fall (Boy Meets Girl) * What Have I Done To Deserve This (Pet Shop Boys) * Love My Way (Psychadelic Furs) * The Ghost In You (Psychadelic Furs) * When Smokey Sings (ABC) * Right By Your Side (Eurythmics) * Ain't Even Done With The Night (John Cougar) * This Old Heart of Mine (Rod Stewart/Ronald Isley)
My mom was 10 years old when this song came out and she got to enjoy the 1980s which is a magical era of great music. I was born in 1994 and I grew up listening to the music from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. She used to have the Gloria Estefan cassette tape that she would play in her 1995 Ford Escort 3 door hatchback occasionally.
We had so much good music back in those days, that we took it for granted. I had almost forgotten about this wonderful song from this magnificent lady. I have the exact same feelings now, that I had as a 22 year old in 1987 after hearing this song again after all these years!
One of the most underrated, overlooked and hardly replayed gems from the 1980s. This has always been my favourite Miami Sound Machine song. Gloria's beautiful voice coupled with MSM's unmistakable latino sound captures that mid-80s sound perfectly. This song instantly takes me back to my carefree youth, crushes, and growing up in Porirua, New Zealand.
This Woman and her band The Miami Sound Machine literally introduced me to Latin Freestyle. Her talent is off the charts. Just listen to this after a stressful day and your problems will slowly disappear! ❤
This song was my very first favorite song as a baby. Mom says I used to sing it every where I went. Grocery store, gas station, car wash, where ever we were going, I was singing UH OH UH OH !
This is SUCH a KILLER SONG. It may be 35 years later, but it STILL HITS HOME. And this Video is so smoothly done, it has to be one of the finest music videos of it's day. There was a short period of time where NBC would use current rock songs as fillers on late night TV on Fridays. This little gem and "You're Out of Touch, I'm Out of Time" were played as much as some others, maybe more. Thank You Gloria & Guys !
🍷Yup...Friday Night Videos...was even more exciting to watch than all of MTV at that time. Found most of Miami Sound Machine and Duran Duran videos there late at night with no worries of getting up early for school. 👍🏻
This has always been a guilty pleasure song for me. I'm a classic rock modern rock heavy rock blues kind of guy. But this pop classic always did it for me. Just a beautiful pop song that takes you back to a simpler time!
if only us people now in our 40's could return to this time if only for a day...Ferris Bueller, Zapped, Weird science, 16 Candles, Breakfest club Great movies! Low cost of living, beer tours, great pot, steady work for all, The law and fines when caught for drinking and pot affordable, The cold war lol, And such a great selection of music Heavy metal or mellow tunes like this, More stable weather regarding seasons, Each automobile looked different and the auto market still dominated by the big 3! And alot of our family and friends that have since departed still with us then.Yes folks we were blessed to live in these times.
Heard this song as an 82' baby all the time in department stores. At that time it was JCPenny's...recall having a certain connection with the mannequins there. Turns out the movie The 1987 film "mannequin' came out that second year. I was experiencing or tapping into something truly real for what it was at my era. I later grew up, JCPenny got demolished and in went Staples. Worked there for many years as a sales associate. One day this song came on , I ran to the inventory room and burst into tears. This song is Etherial to me! Watch the movie and play this song..
Ahhhhh! I had no idea she sang this song! I remember it as a kid and I wanted to listen to it again so I googled “uh oh uh oh falling in love” and of course it pulled up and BAM! It’s Gloria Estefan! She’s so awesome! I always loved her voice. This song is catchy AF! And I love the 80s vibe of the music video! Good stuff indeed!
I'm completely madly in love with this song! I heard it on the radio and found the vid, such a beautiful song, Gloria Estefan looks so beautiful here and classy in her clothes. Love the 80s!!!!
For those living on the moon the last couple decades...this woman ruled the 80's hands down....she is responsible for women I fell in love that didn't exist...
I remember hearing this when it came out, but realized how much I liked it when it was played in a store while shopping a few years later. One thing I can't help but notice in the rhythm is something that sounds like a spoon tapping a champagne glass that skips every other beat and goes for 3 beats.
I have fond memories of this song...Christmas time 1986 and my high school was performing Cabaret. I played the owner of the Kit Kat Klub, my mom was dropping me off at school for opening night, I was wearing a full dress tuxedo w/ tails, a white scarf and grey fedora and this song came on the radio. Funny how a song can take you to an exact time and place. I miss the 80s.
the beautiful talented Gloria Esteban what a woman what a smooth voice this song reminds me of one of my exs of my past this song came out when we was together we loved each other but our lice for each other was starting to fade between us and I was thinking of a way to save our relationship but eventually our breakup came up this song reminds me of her only whenever I hear this song 😪
I only managed to hear just a few seconds of this song a couple of months ago on the radio. I cannot remember this song but it felt familiar. After hearing a bit more recently i came to realised it had an 80s feel to it. FOUND IT and it felt like i was falling in live again :)
One of my favorite songs by Gloria Estefan along with uh-oh(I am in love),conga, anything for you, get on your feet, rhythm gonna get u,I can't stay away from you,mi terria(my homeland
Amazing in retrospect how much better the 80's were in comparison to just about everything today. A continual degradation of our society. Morals, etiquette, corporate responsibility, lawfulness, innovativeness, selfish less, are so absent today. Songs like this are another great example of how great things used to be. Happy to have lived through the 80's and have an idea what good is.
Yes... People getting more rights, is totally a "degradation of society". The music and aesthetics and party scene of the 80s was great, but that's about it. Ask any person alive during the 80s who grew up during the 50s and they would probably say the exact same thing that your saying, but about the 80s. Everything seems better in retrospective, when in reality it's not. Life will always be hard, but we tend to look back on the past as a form of escapism and ignore all the bad.
As a 55 yr old guy, this song takes me back to a time and place, only folks around my own age would understand - 80s, I miss those days...
Right With you Fran!! Golden passage of time the 80s were..
The culture was so much more creative back then. People took risks, and BOLD risks, whether that was career risks, shooting to get into a great college, going after that hot girl who seemed unattainable. And the risks paid off --- so often people succeeded with these bold risks.

2024 - and still love this song! 💯💯💯
I’ve always loved this song ever since it came out.
I’m 52 years old now.
I'm 53 and will always be a Miami Sound Machine fan.
❤❤❤
Fui afortunado de vivir esa época de las melodías con ritmo y frases de amor en las canciones. Tiempos hermosos que no volverán.
Best time! I want back for the 80's
one of Gloria's most under recognized songs yet one of her best, I always felt this song was underplayed and under recognized.
I know I feel the same!
I agree!
So True I remembered the song just now, it's one of my favorites from Gloria, I must say I'm deeply touched by the Expression in tone of how she sings it, I absolutely agree it's one of her best that was just not recognized at the time, OneLove!

Gloria and her Husband put so much into this song
One of my absolute favorite songs by Gloria. I am so glad I got to see her in concert in the 80s. Awesome show.
Saw her and MSM at the Oakdale in CT… what a great show. I had such a crush on her

This beautiful 80s classic deserves way more likes.
It deserves loves, not likes.

*sighs* the good old days...
True!!!
This sounds as good as it did in 1987. Way better than today's music. 80s music forever
this came out in 1985
1987? It came out in 1985.
1987? This came out before then

I discovered Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark shopping at Old Navy.
As long as Elon Musk had nothing to do with your pleasant experience it's all good!
one of my favorites songs from Gloria and MSM, remember me good times
Revisiting ... the HAS to be their most underrated song ... I never get tired of playing it

I still love this song

I bought this album in 1985 on wife's and my 1st anniversary. We did not have much and listened to this song so many times over dinner. In 1994, my then-three year old daughter used to love to sing 'Uh-Oh" when this song was played. It brings back so many memories.

This song brings me back to 1986 when I was in 11th grade, dating my first serious girlfriend (who I did fall in love with). Same Here lol and I’m Only 25.
One of the few songs that (if it were remade by ANYONE) will NEVER SOUND AS GOOD AS THE ORIGINAL ARTIST Gloria Estefan.
My personal favorite Gloria Estefan song of all time ! 🎼👏😎
Newer music will never beat 1980s music! 80s music is better than new music and nobody can probably never make music this good again
You’re right about that!!!

This song was my very first favorite song as a baby. Mom says I used to sing it every where I went. Grocery store, gas station, car wash, where ever we were going, I was singing UH OH UH OH !
Makes sense! I played it for my 20-month-old today for the first time, because he loves saying "uh oh!" anytime he or someone else drops something.

Started hummin this when I got out of work today.. then now here I am back in UA-cam's time machine ....
I'm completely madly in love with this song! I heard it on the radio and found the vid, such a beautiful song, Gloria Estefan looks so beautiful here and classy in her clothes. Love the 80s!!!!
💙💙💙She was smokin hot in this vid!
1tsar completely agree with you!!!!!
I grew up in Miami during the 80's. You couldn't go a day without hearing these guys on the radio or at a Publix Supermarket back then.
It hits you even harder when the song plays at a time when you're experiencing what's being sung in the song. Word for word. Depressing yet beautiful.
😢😢😢I'm crying
I'm still listening since the 80's til now 2022 . A Miami native
I remember playing this on 94TYX in Jackson (MS) Definitely my favorite song from Emilio & Gloria....
Still playing this in 2023.. real music.
Another great tune from 1986, I remember when they used to play this song on 92Q back in December into early January
uh-oh uh-oh, liking this song, liking this song again

Uh Oh! Uh Oh! Liking the song, liking the song again...
Yes yes yes yes yes!

The uh oh..uh..oh is my favorite part (of the song) 😎 👍👍 Love it. 🎶 🎶 😊🎧
Love this song. It popped in my head so had to look up but had no idea it was her singing it
The lyrics match the emotional music perfectly.
A true underrated classic (to me mysterious) gem.
For those living on the moon the last couple decades...this woman ruled the 80's hands down....she is responsible for women I fell in love that didn't exist...
That drummer is killin it! Lol.
I remember hearing this when it came out, but realized how much I liked it when it was played in a store while shopping a few years later.
One thing I can't help but notice in the rhythm is something that sounds like a spoon tapping a champagne glass that skips every other beat and goes for 3 beats.
I never forgot this! My dad would play the 45
Dad has awesome 😎 music 🎵 taste.
This song was a beautiful surprise. What a great tune. Gloria showcasing her talent.
+Peter Gonzales did you score with the actresses?
I wish.
Man you pussied out nigga
+Peter Gonzales nicely written from the pages of your mind...
beautiful.. I have a memory for practically every "top 40" there was from the 80's and 90's 😊
I didn't know Gloria was singing that. What a surprise for me. Beautiful emotions rise with this song
The 80's were the best for music !!
Miss that amazing feeling that comes over one when hearing these.
💯
One of my earliest memories of Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine, always love them, then, now and forever. Gracias

Yes indeed!!!!
the beautiful talented Gloria Esteban what a woman what a smooth voice this song reminds me of one of my exs of my past this song came out when we was together we loved each other but our lice for each other was starting to fade between us and I was thinking of a way to save our relationship but eventually our breakup came up this song reminds me of her only whenever I hear this song 😪
This may be the 80est piece of music ever!!
Amazing!
The sound machine at its height it was amazing even after all these years
This came out in October 1986 as a single. One of Gloria's best. ❤🎶🎼
I only managed to hear just a few seconds of this song a couple of months ago on the radio. I cannot remember this song but it felt familiar. After hearing a bit more recently i came to realised it had an 80s feel to it. FOUND IT and it felt like i was falling in live again :)
One of those gems that have been near forgotten. Great song. Gloria is awesome!
One of my favorite songs by Gloria Estefan along with uh-oh(I am in love),conga, anything for you, get on your feet, rhythm gonna get u,I can't stay away from you,mi terria(my homeland
Thank you God for their talent, thank you Gloria and EMILIO, the backbone of their whole success!
They don't make music like this anymore. Love you #Gloriaestefan
Ask any New Yorker alive in 1984 how “great” it was.
The only good thing about the past is the music. Everything else - wars, racism, fake medicines, brutality, etc. - can go to hell.
Im with you 💯 my friend
Any naysayers can move along with yhier jealousy because what we have today is TRASH
Wow I forgot about this song.. Been 30 years since I heard it and remembered it today
A good song, a beautiful voice, a beautiful woman and a fantastic musical group, excellent combination to forget a bad day.
