Congrats on your job. You have a great attitude. Also via referral, I’m at 50% decrease after 8 months unemployed. I’ll be starting my new job July 11th with an older legacy type tech company. It’s 50% more than I was making without a job. So that’s my attitude (half cup full not cup half empty) good luck for everyone out there still searching.
Thank you so much! Congratulations to you as well on your new job!! 😊💜 You're so right. Taking any job right now is definitely something to be grateful for. Best of luck on your new journey. Let's keep up the positivity. 🙌✨
Hey I know this video is kinda old but I stumbled upon this as I was searching for 'taking paycut after layoff'. I might have to take ~35-40% paycut as well since the job market is so tough right now. I'm about to get laid off (company is moving to on-site and I declined relocation) from my mid 200s tech job. The only roles I'm getting interviews for are the mid 100s, the higher paying ones in the East Coast won't bite. But as you mentioned on your video - anything is more than $0. Also, this can just be a temporary thing, until you find something better and/or the economy gets better. Keep your head up girl, we got this!
I’m sorry you’re going through this. 😫 It really is only temporary and pay cuts aren’t all that bad. It’s less responsibilities and the job tends to be easier. I hope you find what you’re looking for soon!! Good luck. 🤞✨
I took a job that was 15% less than what I was making. Fortunately I learned from the last Great Recession and kept my bills as low as possibly and the new job paid all my big bills. Some income is better than none.
Want to make up the pay cut difference? Invest in monthly paying ETF stocks. It can help pay your expenses. Your age group should be investing in the stock market anyway to help build wealth towards retirement. Don't depend on social security or a 401K. You can take more risk in the market because you're still young. Start learning more about investing and less time playing Candy Crush. A lot of baby boomers now are entering retirement period broke because they didn't prepare financially. It's not too early to start. Just an experienced observer here.
It's crazy how oppurtunities come when you're not looking or not putting pressure on the situation ahhhh ✨

the candy crush level is insane LOOL
LOOOL SHHHHHHHH 🤫 😂
Are you required to return to office at all? I listened carefully. Am I correct that your pay cut will be 40% IF you get finessed out of your bonus?
I'm expected to be in office twice a week!
It's technically a 37.5% if I get finessed out of my bonuses...40% has a better ring to it!!
Congrats 🎉 on landing a job!
Thanks Phil!! I appreciate your support over the past few months. 💜🙌
