    I liked these commentaries very much. Yet, I can see why some Christians think we universalist believe all roads lead to God. Thank you all.

    Thank you very much for your videos. Does anyone know where I could find the account of John Wesley’s encounter with the Inuit people?

      The lake of fire were according to universalists people go temporarily.

      my shallow understanding is that all spirits will be cleansed by "fire" not in the literal sense, but in the fire of God's glory and all will be made right in the end and given understanding.

    While I agree with the premise that other religions can have good in them I think the tone of this video goes a bit to far. I think it does matter what religion you believe but some who follow Christianity outwardly and say they believe it don't deep down believe it. Some have said likewise some who outwardly fallow anther religion outwardly may be following God inwardly and thus be saved, I don't know if that can amount to salvation but for their sake I hope.

      It will focus on the three major Christian views of hell and will shine more light on Christian universalism as a legitimate view. I had been telling people that I hope to be done with it in March, but I should probably just say it will come out some time next year.

    Before merging with the Unitarians, the Universalist Church in America came to similar conclusions: all religions could be vehicles for the gospel of universal salvation. Christ is not Jesus' last name--Christ is a name for the reality Jesus manifested, and that reality can be manifested under other teachers and rituals. Therefore, why not create a church which allows people from a variety of spiritual traditions to worship together? This is why their symbol became an off-center Cross--to show that Christianity is not the only way.
    If God does not require a perfect sacrifice to appease His wrath, then Jesus doesn't have to be God. The Unitarians see Jesus as someone who lived a God-filled life and demonstrated that death is not the end. We're not meant to worship Jesus--Jesus calls us to worship the God he worships. We're not meant to have a religion about Jesus but the religion of Jesus.
    Since all of you in the video are saying these things, isn't the Unitarian Universalist church, then, a better expression of universalism in that they don't have a creed but instead allow people to draw from various sources? Why stay in Christianity if it is still rooted in Penal Substitution? Isn't the trajectory of all Christian Universalists to wind up in the UUA? What logic would prevent that from happening?

      Btw not everyone in the video is a universalist

      @@LoveUnrelenting Not all Unitarians are Universalists. It just seems that the trajectory suggested by video is one that has already been followed by the UUA. These commentators sound very much like Hosea Ballou and Theodore Parker and others who were part of the churches which merged to form the UUA. How are they different? Based on their logic, how could you not wind up in the UUA?

      @@stuartkenny3050 I suppose I can't really answer for each of the people in this video since they are different in various ways. But they are all, as far as I know, Trinitarian Christians. There have been various views within the church on people of other religions for as long as Christianity has been around. I don't know where I implied that all Unitarians are Universalists 😅.

      @@LoveUnrelenting I appreciate your answer--I don't think you implied that Unitarians are Universalist. I guess I just wanted to suggest there are differing opinions everywhere. :)
      If Jesus doesn't need to be God to appease the wrath of God, why believe in the Trinity? The only reason I can see to postulate the Deity of Christ is if I assume some form of Satisfaction Theory where God requires a perfect sacrifice. What other atonement theory requires that Jesus be God? If we want to follow the religion of Jesus, which was Unitarian (Jewish Monotheism), and not create a religion about Jesus, wouldn't being UUA be a better choice than mainstream Christianity?

    • @LoveUnrelenting
      @LoveUnrelenting  2 роки тому +6

      @@stuartkenny3050 There are many views of the atonement that make sense with Jesus as God (Christus Victor and Ransom theories, for example), and yet are not examples of penal substitutionary atonement.

    Wow great video. Really enlightened by what evil looks like. I am reminded by something a saint once said. "In the future the evil one and his followers will condemn Christ and his followers politely." Everything you said is as if the evil one was speaking to us.

      Saying there can be some good in other religions is biblical though they are not totally true. CS Lewis and the catholic church say some who practice another religion outwardly may deep down be following God inwardly.
