This cast is so chill compared to other seasons. The only toxic things about this season are Kiya treating Trenton like Dinkleberg, and Matthew's poisonous dishes.
I loved Brynn, as someone else who has an anxiety disorder watching her battle through near panic attacks in something as stressful as Hell’s Kitchen was just damned inspiring to me
Emily and Steve will always be the reason I watch this season. I do like it a lot more in hindsight knowing that I did get to see vegan chefs kick ass. Honestly even just this season included getting to watch Gordon come around to meat free cooking in his attitude; although props extra to Emily for not slapping him in the face when he trapped her with the "You never eat meat? What?" then she jokes "Oh sometimes I cheat tee-hee" just for him to turn around and say "oh so you're a PART time vegetarian" like ??? you made her feel like she had to say that to get on your good side. Sorry, Emily just gets props for me for going through on live TV what I as a vegan/vegetarian line cook have gone through many times. Yeah but Steve is always #1. I'm sorry but he is my thirst trap. His confidence about that onesie pic is hotter than anything. I have a thing for skinny chefs confident in their masculinity. It's a very specific type, but there it is lmao.
I chat with Josie on Messenger and she’s awesome. Like she’s very down to Earth, and she isn’t like a super preachy type of vegan. She tells me (in a polite way) that she’s not answering any questions about her time on the show, but she plans to release a book talking about it soon
So glad Payton is last here. I think due to how chill this season is for the most part people really underlook how much of an ass he was during his stay.
Man, I can safely say Steve was my all-time fave contestant in the Young Guns season. Quiet personality aside, he more than made up with the badassery he brought in the kitchen. As for Josie, I don't see her as an overly preachy vegan, which is something I can get by (I'm a vegan myself, btw). I follow her on IG and her affirmations and posts are enough to get me through my tough moments. She's rather chill, not to mention her food posts are nothing to sneer at.
I don’t think Matthew is the worst chef in Hell’s Kitchen history because at the very least, his challenge dishes were praised for their presentation by Ramsay, There are definitely chefs that did nothing right like Tavon which are definitely worse then Matthew
I can't even explain why I like Steve so much. Maybe part of it is just that he's on a comparatively boring cast, but imo he also has a natural charisma. I wish he could've broken the black jacket curse because he was for sure better than Brynn
I would honestly pay attention to Sam during a lot scenes he's in because he has GREAT facial expressions. He has a lot of energy and tends to look SUPER intense and goofy when he's really focused, and it's honestly hilarious. The other chefs even called this out while he was in the cook for your life challenge. He reminds me of Brad from 22 but unfortunately didn't get nearly as good of an edit.
Like I just wanted to say why I don’t mind Payton as much as others. 1. I thought he was funny, like when he tripped and fell after the Matthew raw chicken, and the “this is why chefs drink”, like why do people not make more jokes about that 2. Like he wasn’t outright like nasty, like I’m not saying he was a saint or anything, but I literally saw one person on Reddit say that Jason Underwood was more likable than him. 3. There were times I felt his claim was genuine like as I talked about with Morgana, how nobody was mad at her for her mistakes and when she made a similar excuse, and the “he does not know the menu” thing 4. He’s kind of cute, is it just me? 5. He took his defeat gracefully, and he got the first handshake this season if you didn’t notice. 6. IRL time now! So I talk with Josie on messenger, and she said that he’s a very sweet and kind person, and she actually called him “Aiden” after her brother, who looks like Payton, if he had curly brown hair. She said she also feels he’s very misunderstood. 7. On Payton’s last night episode premiered, Brynn wished him nothing but love and good vibes for him and his culinary journey, on Instagram. Someone tried to shame her, saying “didn’t you hate him”. Payton defended Brynn saying it’s all good, and told the guy not to harass Brynn.
My rankings for each of these seasons are a combination of character personality, impact, and, of course, kitchen skills. 1. Steve Glenn (The most obvious placement ever if you know me. Top 5 chef ever for me at the least.) 2. Trenton Garvey ("*studders* Tell me a fucking real time!") 3. Antonio Ruiz (Amazing face turn and him forgetting he put himself up just seconds after he did is absoultely hilarious.) 4. Emily Hersh (Ok ngl, the only reason she and her friend land this high is because of their showmance (yes, I do ship them), which is the only other one I like in HK other than Cody & Mary Lou.) 5. Josie Clemens (Read Emily's message.) 6. Kevin Argueta (A chef that seems destined for the hall of very good until his Nelka like meltdown. Just made for good TV all around.) 7. Matthew Francis Johnson (Yes, this seems really high, but idc. Imo, the greatest donkey in HK history other than Raj. Dude was completely out of his league.) 8. Kiya Willheim (She's a bit more interesting, although I do not trust her family with guns.) 9. Megan Gill (She's a good chef and arguably the best of the season, but I didn't find anything all that interesting about her.) 10. Brynn Gibson (I don't hate her or anything, she's ok, but saying she's a great villain this season is odd.) 11. Keanu Hogan (I don't really want to put her this low, but I just find the others better.) 12. Sam Garman (He was cool.) 13. Alex Lenik (snitch) 14. Jay Smith (Not the best elimination ever even though he wasn't great himself.) 15. Victoria Sonora (Barely more memorable.) 16. Morgana Vesey (Another Britani? How is that even possible?) 17. Ava Harren (She lost in an alcohol challenge. Clearly a plant.) 18. Payton Cooper (This season is as tame as a baby kitten, so he's probably the only unlikeable figure here. He's very annoying and whiny.)
I wonder how his rankings for S21 will be. I know for sure that Tara will probably still be at the bottom even though there’s a debate for Alyssa being at the bottom instead.
1. Steve 2. Sam(just thought that he was a good representation of the youth setting.) 3. Antonio Brynn is dislike because she screwed a popular chef out of a bowling. With that said, practically everyone knows that the villain of S20 is Josie.
Brynn is also annoying to me because constant crying and she’s always constantly whining, which got very annoying. I understand she had panic attacks but damn………
I think this is the most boring season, which is crazy because they are all in their 20s and you would expect lots of petty and funny arguments. Steve carried this season, hands-down.
Joise was my vegan girl honestly she was my favorite this season by far, She was NOT afraid to stand up for what she believed in and stand her ground as a Vegan Chef! I also loved Bryan, Sam, and Steve as well!!!! Sam is one of the MOST handsome guys on Hell's Kitchen he's right up there ✊🌱👩🍳
Like I just wanted to explain why I picked Morgana for overrated. Like I like her and don’t really dislike anyone this cast, it’s actually one of my favorite seasons, but there’s just 2 things I wanted to discuss 1. Like in episode 4 when she accused Brynn of wanting to hear herself talk. Then she put her up over Victoria, and didn’t even like want to hear her defend herself. 2. When she messed up in her elimination episode, she makes the excuse “I didn’t have a partner on my station”. Like nobody gets mad at her, but with Payton…this fandom doesn’t treat these characters like equally. Anyway I like her, I must continue to emphasize that, but I just wanted to get that off my mind

This cast is so chill compared to other seasons. The only toxic things about this season are Kiya treating Trenton like Dinkleberg, and Matthew's poisonous dishes.
Anton and Kiya have treating an innocent chef like Dinkleberg in common
I love Kiya but she wanted a rivalry so bad 😂
Brynn being a complete train wreck getting derailed by a gust of wind all the time was getting kind of annoying.
Matthew is a very iconic early boot. He rivals Tavon (the winner of HK S10) as one of the best early boots, still shocked how he didn’t come last.
I loved Brynn, as someone else who has an anxiety disorder watching her battle through near panic attacks in something as stressful as Hell’s Kitchen was just damned inspiring to me

Josie and I have little heart to hearts, and she is fabulous
trenton proposing to his girlfriend after he won was wholesome
I don’t think Matthew is the worst chef in Hell’s Kitchen history because at the very least, his challenge dishes were praised for their presentation by Ramsay, There are definitely chefs that did nothing right like Tavon which are definitely worse then Matthew
My pick for worst chef is either Tavon or Louie
Louie, easily the worst
steve is my 2nd favorite chef of all time, dave being the first
who else likes steve that much? :)
I love this season just bc it's so chill

Damn i thought sam would have been way higher
This was a return to form after many poor seasons beforehand. On a side note, what does Chef Ramsay have against people named Kevin? 😂😂😂
Because Kevin Cottle of season 6 raised the bar so high, no other Kevin’s can compare and Ramsay wants to personally eject them. 😂
I guess that’s why he eliminated Megan in Season 23. Because the Megan mantle was raised so high. 😂
