- I’ll look at this total classic-the Pelikan Souveran M800 and then compare it’s size to the M400 and M600 Souveran pens. Finally, I’ll ink my new pen with Pelikan’s color of the year-Moonstone. It’s completely exciting!
Great quality video, as usual. I love how everything is bright, shiny, crisp, fresh. I like the top down segment with the Rhodia pad and cover. Everything is great, the music, the lighting, video quality, everything. Makes me realize most videos I watch are pretty crappy, lol. Well done. I like it.

As a 🇨🇦 pen collector I soon realized that if I wanted to own some of the better made pens I had to deal with vendors abroad and not those in the US or in 🇨🇦. Currency differences are better, shipping is quick as opposed to the dreaded UPS or USPS and service is excellent. Never have lost an item and direct to me, not the milk runs of the US postal service to areas outside the US. 5 stars for Royal Mail! Quality video and sound. The case is vinyl. The M600 looks more in size to my Parker Duofold Inter’l.

My Pelikan M800 Souverän Stresemann green/black is the reference by which all other pens are judged, and you are the pen reviewer to whom all others are compared and found wanting.

The Pelikan Stresemann as I know only comes in a grey stipe to resemble the grey striped trousers worn by a politician named Stresemann. It carries a 5 (M405, M805) to denote a palladium trim as apposed to a gold trim on the cap and barrel of the M400, M800. The top of line Pelicans carry the Souveran name including the Stresemann pens. I believe that the black /green was the original colour to make the market scene but not sure and carries the Souveran designation as well as red and blue.
What a wonderful video! I wanted Platinum 3776 Shiun when it came out and found prices prohibitive. I checked Cult Pens and found everything you mentioned. Excellent customer service, super quick delivery to the SF Bay Area, competitive price THEN 10% discount, and you know how much sales tax. Basically 25% less than anywhere here (at the time - they’ve come down a bit in price). That Pelikan is GORGEOUS!!

Cult pens are my go-to pen suppliers. Superb in every way. BTW Those pelikan pouches are killers when the seal snaps back onto your fingers!

Thank you for nice review. I also enjoy a lot my Pelikans: M805 blue striated inked with MB Petrol Blue and M600 red striated inked with Sailor Yodaki ink. Love juicy writing experience.

@@pengangsta please try it. MB Petrol Blue and MB Toffee Brown look great on ivory papers. I like a bit retro look of writing they give. Besides, in my experience, MB inks work very well with wet writers the Pelikans are.
One other thing, I am surprised that Italian pens you like have greater appeal in the US than here in Europe.

Despite the size differences do you not find that the ratio of the section is still a bit on the short size? (I’m basing that on my M200 and M800 - I still find myself holding the threads on both pens).
I did notice that about the section at first, but when I write with it, the threads don’t seem to bother me as much as they do sometimes with the M600.
Gripping the pen too tightly the threads on most pens will annoy you. The threads on my Pelikan are very smooth but the section length tends to be a little short for some.
Cult pen is cheaper than the US but it's refurbished products. They sent me a refurbished special edition B nib and replaced the pen with a F nib. I actually bought the F nib and they did a switch without informing the customer. Cult pen sent the B nib original pen and replaced it with a F nib. They never responded to my email after shipping it to me.
I did a quick check online for some M800s, and Cult Pens in Great Isle do seem to have some killer deals, cost wise. The fact you've used Cult Pens, and they are reliable, means to me, they will be 1st on my list to check once I decide to pull the trigger on a Pelikan. The added extras make it a plus depending on what they are offering at the time and if you want/need it. Thanks for that heads up. :-)
I won’t buy a Pelikan anywhere else-only Cult Pens! Once the Pelikan gets into the US, the price is ridiculous! And if you keep an eye on Cult Pens, there’s always a deal with extras or a small percentage off. You know what else is cheaper there? Visconti and Lamy pens. Basically the European pen brands are cheaper.
