This is a just do. It's also very cool thing to do when you're cleaning other people's houses to make sure everything gets put back in the same place because people who get their homes clean don't like to have things moved. I mainly used this when cleaning other people's bathrooms. Pretty much it's necessary for the tub areas where they have their shampoo bottles and such. And the bathroom countertops.

Omg we had juices randomly decide to spill out for whatever reason and always had to clean the damn fridge 😭 My husband would flip out and take everything out to clean everything up and it surprises me every time to see where the liquid gets to when it spills!!!
I recently cleaned my fridge, as well. I just took out all the pieces I could and washed it with a detachable shower head right in my tub. Hot water helped with the spilled stains a lot and the water pressure could get it out of all the small crevices. So much easier! 👍🏻
I highly recommend you use hot water vinegar and a dab of dawn but it's soak for just a second and then come back with vinegar water and a dry cloth to clean it. Kind of important to use a microfiber you don't want to scratch plastic. I just think using that cleaner that scent will get into your foods
I FEEL SO SEEEEEEN!!! THANK YOU!!! I do this a few times a year from family spilling crap in fridge and it is my ARCH NEMESIS!!!! HOW DID YOU FIGURE OUT HOW TO OPEN THAT DANG PIECE?? There're so many tiny cilantro pieces stuck in those little slots!!!!
Pipe cleaners Folded over get dust from nooks and crannies they also do a good job of softly scrubbing. I use them to clean lint from my sewing machine, clean the window track all sorts of tiny areas you can't get into
I had to do that too I don't think anything in my fridge unscrew I used a really good enzyme cleaner spay it on wait awhile wipe it off. Super easy. You did a great job on yours 👍👏❤
I have a tip!! First I didn’t know you could undo screws to go deeper. But for those pieces of glass that done come apart, I set them in the sink (or tub) and let warm water run over those pieces from different angles till there’s no more mess. It would be even better if you could just submerge it
I say I hate cleaning, but when I do a big project it’s so satisfying when it’s done. Obviously there was tons of crumbs from everyone so cleaning it falls to the person who will do the best job and doesn’t actually mind it. I don’t know that I’d ever pull out the drill; however I do take everything even the glass out, because you usually have to do it. I like to use clear mats that cover the whole shelf. That way for regular cleaning I take food out and mainly just clean the mats and everything else not covered. You can get clear rolls and cut to size.
I've had my geode for 10 years and it looks as good as the day I bought it. I NEVER put anything in the fridge without lids or covers. I shop 2xs a month and move things to check for spoils. I've only had a foul scent once. It was free range hen eggs. I buy white now.
Oh man. A pickle jar tipped over in our fridge and after a couple of days it started to smell. It took me at least an hour to do even the most basic of cleanses. The place where the juice was gathered, I couldn't take it apart and just had to do the best I could. Stuff gets in places you wouldn't expect, that's for sure. Sometimes if your fridge stinks, it could be crumbs and spilled food rather than one thing in particular.
I take it all out, put it in the tub. Let it soak in hot soapy water. Then when I'm done wiping out the inside, the shelves are usually ready for a rinse. Then reassemble. Quick and simple.
Cleaning is SO THERAPEUTIC. It’s so enjoyable it’s like mental health treatment. The warm water -> the smell -> the consistent motions. I feel so relaxed & satisfied afterwards. I swear it releases endorphins or something. 😅
I have done exactly this before. I put a carton of milk on its side and it leaked all over everything so I spent HOURS taking the fridge apart, cleaning up properly is sooo time consuming but soooo rewarding!

The next time I buy a new one, I’ll make sure that all the parts come apart easily. My current one is east ish. I recently cleaned my sister’s. It’s bigger and more expensive and impossible to clean.
Tip: fill the bathtub halfway with soapy bleach water and soak those pieces. Wash them there, rinse them in a large storage tub full of water or outside with a hose and that is the fast way to get all gunk out of every cranny if the shelves and hardware that comes off/apart
We all know he aint gonna clean that shit, but gurrll had to give you a thumbs up cuz I really appreciate this thoroughness, I want to do this to my fridge
I have a French door refrigerator very similar to that one and I have a set of shelves that I cannot remove the glass shelf from and that's where the most gunk hides out at. So what I do is ever so gently pull the glass as much as I can and spray the water and cleaner at high flow to get that stuff out. It actually works 💪
It's a pain. Next time tho try taking some of the slats outside and giving them a good hose down. It's a lot quicker and, for me, a back- and time-saver 👍
