See I have owned BDO for about a year now, and only really played for just a few month before taking a very long break, but I have gotten back into in the last week or so, and let me tell you, I have enjoyed the last week in BDO than I did when I first started, it was really nice to go back in and just grind, or do the life skills you can do, all the new content I missed is also a HUGE plus. Loved the video my man!
Thanks for this - was following the game leading up to release, but got caught up in other things until recently. I just started playing two nights ago ;)
The way you explain this very deep game is so clear and concise. And from my experience you include the most useful, essential topics that befuddled me as a new player. Well done!
I really enjoyed and most importantly learned stuff from this video, thanks. You have a new follower, I liked the fact you didn't have music blaring and the way you transition from topic to topic was quick and enjoyable.
I swear if you watch 1 vdieo for new player tips then you have watched 1,000 videos named new player tips. I'm going to ask my guild leader to place this on our boards. Coming from GW and WoW, a lot of what you talked about answered questions I repeatedly asked my guild mates or world channel. Great video. Can you do one on the importance of nodes and why its important to invest in nodes and what investing energy means to each one?
I did a brief overview of node investments in my Manes farming location, but I do plan on doing a more extensive guide on 'knowledge, nodes, contribution'
Great video, just started playing the game and it is def a change of pace from other MMOs ive played. A lot going on that i hadnt figured out but this helped.
You can also use simple alchemy to upgrade your lesser healing potions to the next level (small to medium, medium to large). It's a 3:1 tradeoff, but worth it in my opinion. Sadly it doesnt give any processing experience.
Great video to learn the basics, you also have a good voice to listen to. Makes a change from people trying to shout all the time to seem exciting and edgy :)
Thanks for the info. I personally had already figured out pretty much all of this, but its nice to know i had within a couple weeks of playing. Still really informative, and wish i had stumbled on this the first few days during my 7 day trial or something =P
Nice vid! Been thinking about playing this game for a while, just haven't gotten around to it. Played B&S and currently hooked on SWTOR, but might give this a try.
Idea: Tell something about equipment upgrading. With stones and from green to blue to yellow gear. Maybe classguides with good equipment for every class :)

i have played for a little while now, but man o man! your video is THE BEST and most easy to follow vid on BDO i have ever seen! please let me know if i can tweet your vid on my Gaming Twittet account. keep up the good work brother! 👍
Ty for your info i got the game last year but then stopped playing it and just started playing again and you helped me with some info i didn't know like the setting :) Also is Grunil still best set, everything seems a bit lower and my old tamer has some better stat armor that i got from last year when i played.
Can you in Black Desert Change your Characters Clothes as to where they are, such as thicker clothes for Winter places, and lighter clothes for hotter Places.?? Just curious.
downloading the game now as it was for sale on steam i bought the explorers package and after seeing a lot of negative stuff about p2w and end game shit for pvp, i noticed that people who says that is people who doesnt enjoy this kind of games, i mean its not your typical mmorpg here
Many thanks for all the tips i was frustrated about my armor should i enchant or no ... now i know what to do as a new player and gonna buy the game actually cus currently im on the 7 day for free deal
Hey dude. Just started playing a few days ago. Vid is about a year old, do you still think I should pick up this Grunil armor you're talking about in this vid? I'm just level 22 as of now.. I keep on out leveling my areas because of all the xp buffs! lol
Thanks a lot for this video. I started playing BDO a few days ago and this cleared up a lot of confusion. I do have one question: it seems like this game is kind of like EvE in the respect that it matters WHERE your items are? For example, if I put items or money into the storage in Velia, I can't access them in Heidel? Is there profit to be made from moving other peoples' shit from one place to the other?
There sadly isn't an ingame mechanic for being a transporter or anything like that. The warehouse managers actually offer that service via 'transporting'. You are correct though that items and silver are in the location you originally deposited them. If you ever want to move money, then make sure you turn them into gold bars for less weight!
Black desert i wouldn't even consider a true MMORPG sure you can join guilds with other players team up with others and fight pvp but its not he sole reason of the game like most typical mmorpg games where you only play with guild members like elder scrolls online or whatnot. reason why i like this is because of the solo or somewhat single player style this game offers. but yes this game has very little hand holding and you can miss stuff quick if you blow right through it which is why you should read a lot of the dialogue with main quests that further advance your level. overall im extremely impressed with this game i like it a lot but still have a ton of shit to figure out even though im level 27 currently.
If you are able to record at a higher resolution or bitrate or whatever (I have no idea how it works) it would be appreciated; it's hard to text in the video that you are referring to. Not impossible (on a 50" monitor), just very hard.
The valueable things to look at in those kits is the inventory expansion, the value packs, and getting a single pet. Value packs are 15ish dollars per 30 days, each pet is about 10$, and inventory is another 10$. Horses aren't that big of a deal, you can tame wild ones & get to tier 3 / tier 5 pretty easily. My optimal start would probably be to join the game, drop 60$ on pearls and buy a 2900 cost costume (increases xp & look great), 30 day value, 2x900 cost pets. Otherwise just get the higher tier pack for the value on the 2x 30 day value packs & 16 inventory.
since this game is not like WoW that I play and imo PvP is cancer, so I am just enjoying it and taking my time. got 4 characters (all between 37 - 15). today I just ran around trying to make a crate (with maple and the otehr wood) and doing some farming, hireing many workers, like around 12 (for me this is sooo many, had like 4-5 before). got Cooking and processing to Aprentice2 and 5 I think. My total wealth is about 80 - 90 mil atm. Got a ring from a box that I sold for 36 mil or something. dont know what to do now, got my "beer" production ongoing. have about 300 made. Should prob go to the 3rd big town in the west.
What I want to know is if I pay the 50.00 bucks to play when the 60 days are up do I have to drop another 50.00 buck to keep the stuff I was given to start with.. Im a bit confused on there pay to play system.. If you have to do this man this game would cost more then another game I have ever played. I really like this game, I played the 7 days free but now Im stuck on the Pay to Play. Can you answer my question as I have googled it a 100 times with no real answer. Thank You.
Is this game worth the money? Is it a bit like the oldskool MMORPG? Grinding/questing and using skill points the way you want? Also it seems u gotta pay alot of money if u wanna have the game unlocked. Is it true?
I'd say BDO is quite different from other MMORPG's in the sense that quests are not done for EXP, grinding max level is not the end goal mostly due to being pretty weak at max. level if you haven't done any of the other stuff you can do in Black Desert like professions, node management etc. It's an MMO where the journey is at least, if not more, enjoyable as reaching end-game. I will also add that a lot of features in BDO have minigames attached to them, examples being the very small things while doing active fishing to slightly bigger things like taming horses, horseracing, sailing and naval warfare. Lastly, the game purposely gives players incentives to create alternate characters as they help you in various aspects in the game later on as well as giving you a family bonus (family being the collection of characters you have in BDO) based on family points which is very useful. There's also a lot of features that can be done AFK and BDO can be played idle from time to time if you so please. I really can go on and on about why BDO is so different from other MMO's but seriously, if you're looking for something different from your standard MMO, try it. And it's only 10 bucks, one time fee.
I hate that even on highest settings there are still things that appear on screen at range. Vieving distance is what throws me off. Bushes that are lets say 10 meters away doesnt appear when 11 meters away, meters are estimated just to get my point. Is there any way of improving that viewing distance I have game on highest settings and it still happens to me.
loved this video, i have run into a problem at market place,, tried to buy some armor to upgrade, iam lvl 18 right now, when i go to purchase, says i dont have enough $ say item 74k, i had 1.8 mil in silver on me, i am getting same at the stable tring to buy a horse, no luck, i did use cp points to get storage, not carrying much, and unloaded like 1.5 mil in silver, also total silver in storage is like 29mil, and i have like 11-15 gold bars, any advise?ernill is my storage guy
I thinking about buying BDO but i'am not so sure if i should buy just the game or Travler/Explorer pack... because i heard that some of the stuff in the packs is kinda necessary like Value Pack, Inventory expansion and Pets... well Value Pack and Inventory Expansion i can understand more weight limit and space in your inventory is really helpful in a game where you have to grind alot and where even the ingame currency has weight... but pets? Then i looked around why Pets are so necessary because they loot the mobs for you and later in the game when you kill many mobs at once it can be that you dont get to pick up all the loot by yourself because you only habe like 30sec for it and it would take some time... So pets save you alot of time and you wont miss any loot... but then i heard that you should have as many pets as possible so max 4... but why isnt 1 pet enough? is it something like that they follow you 15min and have to rest then for 45min so you have to get 4 pets so that you can have all the time a pet out while the others rest? So i still wondering are the Packs worth it? from what i hear they kinda are worth it because sooner or later if you keep playing BDO you would buy most of the stuff in the packs anyways so you would save some money if you buy a pack.
So ur main is kuno? how's the awakening?Heard its not that good is that true?, and also why u got a seraph and not the ancient guard necklace for the accuracy bonus?
See I have owned BDO for about a year now, and only really played for just a few month before taking a very long break, but I have gotten back into in the last week or so, and let me tell you, I have enjoyed the last week in BDO than I did when I first started, it was really nice to go back in and just grind, or do the life skills you can do, all the new content I missed is also a HUGE plus. I don't, which is a problem, haha
I enjoy it ;) Not to self promote (sorry Kilryan) but I will be talking about it in a video soon (too much to explain here in a comment).
$10 just play it you wont regret it.
MissBlissGaming welcome to bdo
One of the best basic beginners guides I've seen so far. Thanks man!
The way you explain this very deep game is so clear and concise. And from my experience you include the most useful, essential topics that befuddled me as a new player. Well done!
Just rejoined this game a week ago, and this was SUPER helpful! Thanks, kilryan! :)
I really enjoyed and most importantly learned stuff from this video, thanks. You have a new follower, I liked the fact you didn't have music blaring and the way you transition from topic to topic was quick and enjoyable.
the first two minutes of this video contain more help, tips & tricks than most guides on the youtubes
Freaking awesome! Best intro guide for new players for this game that I've seen! Thanks man!
Glad you found this information useful :D!
Excellent video for beginner players, I learned a few things that I sort of skipped over when I jumped into playing BDO....!
As someone just getting into BDO I really appreciate the tips.
Thanks man, this video is one of the best general guide videos I have seen for a while.

1) Any tips on how to expand your weight limit?
2) Autoloot feature from pets for loyalty? does that work fine? Is there something else?
You can also use simple alchemy to upgrade your lesser healing potions to the next level (small to medium, medium to large). It's a 3:1 tradeoff, but worth it in my opinion. Sadly it doesnt give any processing experience.

just started black desert and this helped me. U got u a new subscriber out of me
Watching in 2020 best and easiest guide out there to date! Thanks
an alternative for the problem of having to many small potions, you can use simple alchemy to turn 3 into 1 of the higher lvl ( 3small = 1medium...)
Thanks for the info. I know it's a couple years old, but I think it's pretty standard and should still help. I appreciate it.
Npnp I plan on doing a 2020 video soon
I've been wanting to play this game so bad! It looks beautiful and I can't wait to buy some Pc Parts and play this beauty! Thank you!
Thx for the video ! It helps a lot and you talk slowly enough for me to understand. Just nice of you for stranger !
This game is going to take over my life

Path system still broken, especially when you're in a guild. When a guild-mate pings in the same channel, it will cancel your auto-pathing/auto-loop.
this was great, thank you!!
Is it true?
Gimlix only $10 lol
And it's only 10 bucks, one time fee.
is thete a way I can avoid massive frame drops when In cities I have a gtx1060 and when I enter certain cities my fps drops so hard
I hate that even on highest settings there are still things that appear on screen at range. Vieving distance is what throws me off. Bushes that are lets say 10 meters away doesnt appear when 11 meters away, meters are estimated just to get my point. Is there any way of improving that viewing distance I have game on highest settings and it still happens to me.
thanks great video

So i still wondering are the Packs worth it? from what i hear they kinda are worth it because sooner or later if you keep playing BDO you would buy most of the stuff in the packs anyways so you would save some money if you buy a pack.
you got sub and like you have gone to what i need to know thanks.
Thanks Brochacho!
