Donald Sutherland scared the shit out of me when I was younger. But as I have matured and Sutherland has become older and more refined I have come to love the guy as an actor. Absolutely brilliant.
The sign of a truly GREAT actor. You're never really aware that it's Donald Sutherland. He becomes the part he's playing. Dustin Hoffman is another one like that. It's what sets real actors apart from guys like Arnie or Sylvester Stallone. I always thought "The Eye of the Needle" was one of his best roles. Absolutely chilling professional spy and assassin. If you haven't seen it you should.
A movie that he should had mentioned" Eye of the Needle". A tight spy drama set during WWII in England, from start to finish!!! D.S. character is top- notch...
That could be related to the near death experience from meningitis. He has said his brain was kinda fried during the scenes filmed after he returned to set.
He seems to be of scandinavian origins. Especially clear in Kelly's Heroes due to his actual hair color. In fact I knew someone from close that is too of Scandinavian origins and their appearance aligns very much.
Okay, alright, HOWEVER ! One thing/role that was not included or shown, was his ass, in Animal House, such an iconic movie and he was a character in it , should have merited a few seconds. "Hey, I'm not joking, This is my job" LOL
My personal favourite character he did was Oddball, Donald was absolutely I'm his element with him 😅
Positive vibes baby
Woof woof woof!
I can think on a good number of greater chars but yeah oddbal was good
100%. It was a perfect performance.
Rutger Hauer close 2nd
Oddball "dont hit me with them negative waves so early in the mornin"
Definitely, it's always them "Negative waves"
A great actor. One is always excited to see him in any movie. A very singular performer.
I’m not sure he’s ever been in a bad movie. Fabulous actor.
Puppet Masters. The single worst book to screen adaptation, imnsho.
one of the most revealing interviews about an actor's craft i've ever seen
Don so many good roles , thanks man
Oddball. Kelly's Heroes. 1971. "Don't hit me with them negative waves so early in the morning".

This man was just, brilliant in his craft, out standing actor.
Wonderful in Ad Astra.
Oh Don, thee and me are now into the zone. Me at 88. I've enjoyed your comic talent for years. Pity that I have no such talent. JL.
Among the last of the legends of big film still alive .

One of my favorite movies of all time. Saw it when I was 14. Still have crush on Kate Nelligan.
He was good in 'The Eagle Has Landed' too, with his dog whistle trick. That character and Oddball would of been sorted together,
Great actor, one of my all time favorites!
He's just drinking wine and eating some cheese and just catching some rays, you know
Two of my favorite roles for him were the psych prof in Animal House and the health inspector in Body Snatchers.
Donald does not have much to say about Oddball which seems a pity. He seems John Klute in that assessment which he explains earlier.

One of the best actors
He was good in ''The Puppet Master'' Sci-Fi movie. I laughed, when he trips the Alien with his cane. Then says, Ohhh! sorry. As he runs away.😅

Oddball
Such a great actor
Cancelled (forever) Donald Sutherland
Infinite forever

Could someone please transcribe the French from the end? I didn’t catch all of it.
The only man with positive waves..
Woof woof woof
