Chahoua are my favorite. All my females are out during the day basking and I love seeing them. My leachie is a sweetheart and I’ve worked hard on interacting with her so she’s very friendly. Love them both! Great stuff man
I have both. I just got my leachie and I asked the breeder for the nicest liechie he had and he gave me one. She is the sweetest gecko, just like a little puppy. No aggression at ALL. My daughter and I just had a discussion about which was a better pet, and we decided they were about equal. I will say that her nails that while her nails don't hurt, they do dig into to my clothes which makes her hard to move. I loved both. But I also really love my cresties I have 27 of them and 1 leachie, and 1 chewy.
27 is almost too many for me, but you buy one then you need a specific mate, then you get another, and you get a different mate or two. I'm beginning to realize it just doesn't end lol @@Dakotahblueexotics
I got a male adult leachie a few weeks ago and I am obsessed with him! I only had gargoyles and cresties before. He is so active at night and actually very handleable. I just got him a girlfriend today along with a couple chahoas. One of the chewies was jumping like crazy and the other was super chill. They are a lot smaller than I expected, the ones I got are supposed to be adults but they look smaller than my gargoyles.
@Dakotahblueexotics thank you! That's what I thought.. idk maybe the guy kind of scammed me. He said they were proven breeders. The leachie I got from him is definitely an adult at least. He made a big deal about giving me such a good deal that he was essentially giving away a female chahoua. I paid 2300 for a female leachie, 2 female chahouas and a male chahoua. I feel like it's not the worst deal even if the chahouas are not adults yet. They are about the same length as the gargs, my gargs are just chunkier.
My gargoyles and my crestys are out on and off all day. They watch my other pets. They have 36L x 18 x 24 tall terrariums and use all of their space. Each also have a basking corner spot at 80 to 82 and use them routinely.😮 top of enclosures are 80 desscending to 74 at the bottom. And the far end sometimes is 70 to 72 but we rarely see them using that corner area unless chasing their food.
I think both is the answer. I don't own a leachie yet, but...they are both awesome. I have held a leachie. I hadn't held a chewie until my husband bought me an adult trio (who are no longer a trio). :-P
Leaky-anus is how I heard them referred. When an experienced breeder told me it’s the only animal that ever made him gag, I chose the chewie😅 Still want a leachie down the line though. And a giant leaf tail.
Does anyone know about the 4 clawed gecko? I bought one at an expo, i was told they are the poor mans leachie. They look pretty similar. Im not finding many videos or info on them.
I dig chiewies alot, but breeding them is a pain for me personally 😅 though I haven't breed leachies until 2024 so maybe I'll say the same about them lol.

Please upgrade your encosure before buying animals, i have just watched your room tour and I know you can do more for your leachies, in that video you kept it in like a 18 inches tall, they need at least 36 inches, they are big... Show the right way pls and not the underrequired as a youtuber. Ty
Why not have both? I have 4 Crested, 1 Gargoyle, 1 Chahoua and 1 Leachie. My Chahoua and Leachie are new and babies so I don't know what they're like yet as big adults. My Leachie was almost double in cost then any other gecko I have lol

You said he is active at night , does he wake up during your sleep?
