That price is legitimately amazing. I thought it would be 5Gs. Real nice. There are very few projectors that are even real 4K, let alone Dolby Vision as well.
Hello. I am using xgimi rs pro 3.
I'm having a problem with it being very quiet at the beginning of use, then after more than an hour or two of use, the noise gets really loud and interferes with watching videos. It's distracting.
I'm new to beam project, is this normal?
Any recommendations for a projector screen to go with it?
Luke, I remember when I bought my apple tv you could save moneys right on the hard drive inside it. but now it doesn't give you that open now why? Can you show us how to get it back ?
I know it was an ad for the projector but instead of the projector I am thinking of getting an Apple TV instead of the build in Android TV 9 in my current projector that feels so slow.
I replaced using my samsung smart tv's software about 2 years ago with an apple tv. The apple tv is so smooth and fast that whenever I have to use the settings menu for the TV it feels so slow and laggy.
Is the resolution pure or full 4k or pixel shifting is used to achieve 4k image?
Native resolution is 1920x1080 so 4K by shifting pixels.
Apple TV with Projector and Homepods is a perfect match :-)
The ultimate budget home theater
@@lukemiani absolutely
That's my set up too, it's awesome!
Idk about home pods. Those are trash.
We have the setup in our bedroom and they work great, also 50% of the time we just put our AirPods in to not wake the kids and they are amazing too.@@jhugo1986
hey luke my macbook pro recently stopped working and I was wondering if you had a spare macbook that is relitively new That you don't need if I could have it becaude I am currently doing my homework on my phone and It has proven to be verry dificult. Thanks
what show was being shown as samples?
is the apple tv the cheapest new product you can use to get a 2 factor code for your apple ID?
No, the Apple TV can’t do that.
What kind of surround sound system would I use with the projector?
Nakamichi 9.2
The moment the mesh panel went down, it reminded me of James Bond lol
Wait a minute I thought my Formovie Theatre already had Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos lol. I guess yours is long throw instead of ultra short throw.
Shame the discount code isn’t valid outside the US
Luke shows how amazing the color accuracy is while each display has different colors 😅
I don’t normally like sponsored vids but yours are a different level, Luke. You do a great job of showing how good a product is, and it’s clear that you actually love it and aren’t just talking up the first company that throws money at you.
Well done! Now I need one of these for my garage setup 😁
Thank you for telling us more things about apple tv than the projector. I will stick with an 77" LG C3.
What AppleTv show was that you showed? The one with NASA….
It's season 2 of 'Invasion'
Thats not the first 4k dolby vision projector btw. The Formovie projector is the first 4k dolby vision; it also has atmos. Its an ultra short throw laser projector with 2800 lumens. The 2800 Lumens plus its very close distance to the wall equals much brighter picture.
Projectors dont have real real HDR. HDR has little to do with brightness. It's about dynamic range. It needs to be able to display black properly
@@shueibdahir while projectors can’t do hdr, some handle it better than others. Also, I wasn’t referring to the brightness as being hdr, I was merely mentioning it because a brighter projector looks better, even in the day. Ultra short throws even work with ambient light projection screens, something regular or short throw projectors can’t work with
This video never said that its the first projector to have Dolby Vision, it said that it's the first LONG throw projector to have it, which is completely true.
The Formovie you have is an ultra short throw, so it's in a completely different category.
@@SpicedGoldwhen did he say “Long throw.”?

Can’t wait for the A17 Pro Apple TV
Guess you gotta pay for those new macs somehow lol the m3 max is not cheap, love the channel!
Thanks for this amazing review Luke!
Good product.
Just noticed I'm not subscribed to you but I've been watching your videos for a while. Sorry about that lol.
Luke's first short-throw infomercial
Long throw with only 100”?
“Designed to not look like a projector”. Trudat - I thought it was a fancy packing box.
Lol, Roku, now that's an ultimate streaming box. But I get it, apple ecosystem.
Nice
I think your title for obvious paid commercials should state, it is indeed a commercial.
Because you wouldn’t dare watch a video where Luke reviews a product if he was paid and clearly says so at the start? We got it, you don’t trust him.
No, I trust him and I understand how money is made, but there is no need to disguise a commercial as a review, without including something useful.@@mavfan1
@@mavfan1Guy got some issues, luke literally compared this with displays. He told more about apple tv than projector
Whoa, that's more than my mortgage payment.
oh man. WANT
Its just for me or theres a green bar on the top of the video?
never understood the apple tv nor even used one, I just watch apple tv on my tv screen from the computer!
No ALR screen...LOL
wow I got here so early
I liked that white projector better.
A commercial for the projector.
Had me at 1600 🤯
Hey, dont be dogging the Epson Home Cinema 1060😂; the look ain't that bad, it treats me very well and has more lumens
What is clear is that it's 10x more expensive than Apple TV. For those who have the budget and the need for what XGIMI offers, this might be the solution for you.
Success depends on the actions or steps you take to achieve it. Building wealth involves developing good habits, such as regularly setting aside money for sound investments..
I am excited 😊 my life has totally changed. I have been benefiting $10,250 from my $4,000 investment every 14days
Trading with Garrett patten was never a regret to me, he's the best I've ever seen
I invested with Garrett, i make about a 30,000USD every month.
I heard a lot of investing with Mr Garrett patten and how good he is, please how safe are the profit?
I trade with him, The profit are secured and over a 100% return on investment directly sent to your wallet..
I have the projector and I'm not happy. The software on the projector and the hardware don't match. I have the second replacement device. The first one had a hardware problem. This meant that the picture would stutter during football, for example, and the controls were very slow. The second projector often had the problem that the projector didn't respond when you turned it on, so you had to restart it, i.e. unplug it from the power and plug it back in. Then everything worked. I reported this and promptly received another projector three weeks later that was supposed to solve the problem. Now I've had to restart it twice. I now believe that the system's hardware is so bad that I'll probably get an Apple TV to try it out. Connecting a sound system means that the TV switches to the eARC HDMI port every time and you have to manually switch back to the picture. That's pretty annoying.
I gave away my Apple TV. Password, password, password and Roku kicks it's butt
Nice projector! but here in the UK the Apple TV has gone the way of the Dodo. I have 2 'rotting away' in the loft. Amazon Firestick, Roku, Sky TV or similar seems to be the way. The Apple TV never seemed to do anything existing kit couldn't do, at a cheaper price. The home cinema market was always a niche market over here for the enthusiast. The interested mainstream consumer market sought of got saturated at Dolby 5.1 which personally I thought was plenty good enough for me at least and I am quite interested in it but we were never going to get a dozen speakers in our smaller living rooms past the 'boss' in the UK with Dolby Atmos so the market just flatlined. Combined with the downgrade in quality of output of film studios and TV and streaming output in general. I speak as a GenXer but I tend to think that younger generations are not so interested in the best picture and sound quality nowadays, which is sad. It may be different across the pond of course and I am interested in opinions that I am totally wrong about the UK market also.👍🙂
I’ll put my shield tv pro up against the Apple TV as best streaming box.
I do too, it still is my go to streaming device
@@Poepopdestoep Amazing for emulation as well!
Both don't properly support Dolby Vision so it's just which OS you like for streaming
My problem is any projector other than UST will require depth for the room, therefore the console/tv box might not be in front of you. Remote or controller with gyro support will have issues locate the user
no? that's not how it works.
@@lululombard on I thought u at least have to aim at the direction of tv box? Just wonder
@@williamchen8423 that is only for infrared remotes, which are only on cheaper devices, now almost everything is RF/Bluetooth/whatever
I have a similar set up using an Epson EpiqVision Mini EF12 attached to my Apple TV. Advice from a longtime projector user… you really have to know exactly the throw distance of the projector and where exactly you are going to place it in the room. Especially for a little projectors like this which often don’t have horizontal shift. Also mine is not permanently on my table so when I take it out, I often just use the internal speaker for TV shows, but for movies, I have to take out the long HDMI cord to the AVR Attached to the Apple TV. We’re are used to it and have accepted it, but my original idea was on the ceiling, but again the throw distance put it right in the middle of the room, which was not acceptable. Final bit of advice, from certain distances you can’t tell the difference between HD and 4K. There are lots of charts around the Internet that will tell you what distance you lose the benefit of 4K for your screen size. Apart from maybe the colour accuracy in my case I don’t think I would benefit from this projector, and it’s still more than double the cost of mine.
only place i can think 4k is worth it for a large display like a projector (other than a dedicated cinema) is for sporting event broadcasts where a bit of extra detail on HD can make all the difference on distinguishing players in wide shots. for home cinema, yet to be convinced for the reasons you mention. ion. i had an SD projector the size of a coffee table in the mid 90s in my house and it was cool even though it was jaggy bc the image was so large and a big a system can really lift the viewing experience to kinda cinema levels. for a few months until the novelty wears off anyhow.

Esthetics and their perception are very personal. I for one don't care for the breadbox appearance of the new projector. I never found the Epsons ugly nor disturbing. I find the ease with wich influencers want us to believe that 2000€ is a steal rather offensive.
I feel like the black levels suck on this. I can clearly see the “black” empty letterboxing on the shows. even compared to the studio display in the same shot
i could not watch something on this it's lacking contrast af, it doesn't beat an oled tv like the samsung s95b or Lg G3
It looks like something from the 1970s ugly Box like. That’s just my opinion
Good aesthetic? It screams 70s tech. 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁
I can’t find a honest review without XGIMI sponsored. Contrast ratio is horrible and I wish the UA-cam reviews would mention that. Dark scenes are horrible on this projector
the reason why apple TV is so far behind in sales is because they don't dig into that juicy built in smart tv market.
if apple partnered I would think a lot more people would love to use one.
I also think smart tv makers should just have a hatch in the back where it comes with a smart tv box, but if you unplug it it converts your smart tv into a dumb one. it's such an obvious idea. maybe they could come together to make a USB C plug that transfers all the smart tv information so the tv itself can convert into a smart tv with your preferred interface, with tv controls on the fly.
Most new TVs have the Apple TV app built in.
@@davidwiles6042 I'm talking about apple tv the streaming box not apple tv the app.
obviously they're 2 different things
Partnering defeats the purpose of selling a premium piece of hardware. AppleTV is behind in market share because most people don’t want to spend $200 on a streaming box. The average consumer doesn’t care about dolby vison or having a pretty UI. They just want to watch their content. That’s why the $15 Firestick is so popular.
@@RLfilmz the problem is that the entire concept of a "stream box" is dead to most people. smart tvs are the only real option for many people and even if you get a streaming box, you're plugging it into a smart tv
What would they gain from putting a hatch in the back except driving up costs lol
STOP putting speakers in our Projectors.
Sadly my experience with the Apple TV has been less than great. Constant bugs, frustrating UI, and expensive of course. I got a Roku instead for $40 and it’s been flawless.
This projector is not real Dolby Vision just like 500nit lcd tvs say the have dolby vision. They're simply not capable of displaying the dynamic range required. This thing has worse black levels than a lcd screen. The ability to display deep or real black is an integral part of HDR, more important than the amount of nits the display is capable of.
good sponsored video! content creation is a job. they're allowed to do ads once in a while as long it's disclosed.
If you are going to use a projector and you want to have good image quality, you should not project on the wall, but use a projection screen. That also costs extra money.
HDR Is impossible
I was also thinking about that, can a passive object like this black wall reflect such broad range?
Cap
If you’re trying to be honest turn on the light, honestly I think you lost my respect a little bit
Your sponsored content sounds too fake
all these things are unnecessarily radiating with their dumb microwaving wireless connections and are completely useless
Did you type this on a device with no wireless connection?
Terrible picture without a screen
can you make some real videos for once and not this sponsored stuff people didnt subscribe for
for once? most of his videos are *not* ads
Projector? Ew. No thanks. Nothing can match the quality of my 77" OLED display.
