I'm already a master hunter of the sea of thieves and know everything i need to know about it to get to legendary but im still enjoy to watch this video from time to time
I have watched and studied this video atleast 15 times now. I feel confident enough to complete this (only finished Pondies, Splashtails, and Plentifins the past 4 days) but doing it solo is a challenge in itself.
Oh wow, you must be where all those views came from! Jokes aside, I'm very, very glad to hear this is serving you well! Keep at it, and may the fish be plenty
Because he didn’t mention it, you can also sell your “breath of the seas” to the hunters call. You can obtain a breath of the sea as reward from any and all shrines/treasury’s( the blue Coral marks on your map ) AS LONG as you have a quest for it (you can pick up a quest on shores of islands. It will look like a quest bottle, but tinted blue and littered in coral decor). If you don’t have a quest, you can still do them. It’s worth it due to the handful of gems you earn.
A quick extra tip. Vote up a shores of gold quest and go fish pondies there. Did it with a brig, with my friends. Had Hunters call up to 50 in like 3 days of chilled fishing and diving.
If you get a coral message in a bottle from flotsam or shipwrecks or anywhere else, it can be very lucrative to take on the shrine as you get the breath of the sea and some siren gems, and it can be a lot more fun than just fishing for rep.
One cool thing I've discovered but nobody talks about is that if you want to be semi afk (watch movies for exsmple, browse your phone) then all you have to do is move the camera far away to the edge after you cast your line. Once a fish bites your camera will recentre itself onto the hook. Which means you can look away from your screen during this time. As soon as the game recentres you, i guarantee you'll notice even when looking at another screen :) happy fishing
Yep yep! I'm not sure which video I covered this in (This one, or the advanced guide) but that's a wonderful tip! Easy to tell when they bite c: Happy sailing!
Me and my crew affectionately refer to Splashtails as "trashtails" because they always hog up the pool and have a nasty habit of stealing the bait off the hook before you can pull it back in.
one of the best in depth sea of thieves videos I have watched. A bunch of helpful tips I didn't even know! Cheers to you and to the Legendary Hunter Of The Sea Of Thieves
6;21, Tried this out myself for a Laugh... Went FISHING in the Water Dock under a Ghost Fort, and Got a Pondie... so if there are Other Players on all Islands where PONDS spawn then there is always another option.
Wow man, this was an incredible guide that should have a lot more attention. I see you try your best to respond to all comments which is super cool! You deserve more subs tbh and you earned one from me! Amazing job, and I'll be sure to check out your other vids!
A hundred thanks, good fella! I certainly try to- after all, I make content for YOU! I hope you enjoy other content- and stay tuned, I've got quite a lot more in the works!
Minor correction (as the gold and rep values differ, so I feel it’s worth mentioning): According to the wiki, the tiers of fish are actually; base (ruby splashtail), common (sunny splashtail), uncommon (indigo splashtail), rare (umber splashtail), and night (seafoam splashtail). You referred to the base tier as common, and the common tier as uncommon (lumping both the common and uncommon together, despite them having different gold and rep values, and potentially different spawn rates though I wouldn’t know that one for sure). Just thought I’d mention it, to clear up any confusion someone might have, as I’ve noticed some people avoid catching base and common tier fish and only hunt for uncommon, night, or rare tier fish since they’re a bit more valuable. Edit: when I wrote this, I hadn’t considered the possibility that, since the video was made a year ago, the tiers of fish may have changed since then. I only recently got into fishing, so I’m not sure if that’s the case or not. Great video regardless, sir!
Thank you very much for taking your time on that! I've seen it go back and forth, so you're certainly not unjustified for thinking either way. A lot of the Hunters community sees no noticeable difference in the lowest two tiers of fish, and it only starts showing with uncommon and rare (night being it's own category) If someone sees a difference; The information is there! Thank you
Holy shit! You’ve only got 200 subs?! That’s criminal. I started fishing not so long ago and I’ve been searching for the best tutorial and they’re all from 2 years ago with minimal information. This by far was the best quality and the most helpful. You actually seemed like you enjoy making these videos aswell while other creators sounds as if they’re in agony. You’ve got a sub from me and a constant viewer. Please keep up the great content!

Hey Deep Diving, I just wanted to say thank you for your amazing guide, it gave me the desire to try this grind for myself, and here I am, I have finished and won this sweet, sweet title, thanks to you I had an amazing time and found some new friends along the way !!!!
Thanks for letting me know! I'm glad it not only aided you, but helped inspire you to take on the adventure! Rock that title, pirate. You've earned it.
My favorite spot to fish is at imperial crown seafort. it has its west side to the shroud. so its easy to hide a ship behind it. and it has 4 cooking pots to cook the fish. and after. its fairly close to the spoils of plenty store. and dont forget the barrels on it. Ive spent a 3 hour fishing session there. A couple players sailed in the distance but never came close. For me the perfect fishing place. And the loot from the fort can be used to possibly negotiate your life if someone does end up coming your way to do the fort. Give it a try

Thank you so very much for your kind and, quite frankly, inspiring comment! Glad you stopped by; I hope it serves your friends as well as it served you! Happy sailing c:
Very well organised and edited guide, thank you. I’m getting a bit tired of my high speed high stress arena grind, and will probably do some fishing once I’m done with it
3:10, Also important to Note. If your level is PAST a certain amount The Hunters Call traders WILL NOT ACCEPT RAW FISH, so get used to cooking them from the start.
Also If you are anchored in open ocean and a skeleton ship tries to spawn on you it gets "stuck" and won't emerge. You however can fish for battlegills. and I did this in the far south east corner of devils roar. I initially went there for devil fish, but apparently I was not able to catch them. I was hiding behind a big rock spike and a skelly ship tried to spawn, and played permant skelly ship music. I didn't encounter a time limit and I used about 150 grubs. I think it's the best way to get battlegills, but it is a little exploitative, so use at your own discretion.
Tip if you wanna catch something other than splashtails (especially if you're using bait): A few seconds before the fish bites, it's visible in the water circling the bait. If you see that it's a splashtail, you can cancel fishing (right-click on PC), and you will still keep the bait. Then you can cast again.
another tip for fishing: you can tap the reel in button without it breaking the line, it doesn't shorten the reel-in time to much but anything to save time helps
One tip for sishing faster is pushing your fishing rod to the limits. You can reel while the fish is struggling, just listen carefully and stop reeling as the fishing rod is about to break, wait a little and resume. If you do this properly, the fish will be out of the water by the time they've just recovered from being tired the first time, second cycle for trophy fish. If you're using bait, don't let any splashtails bite unless it's a rare one. If you're not using bait, just discard the common ones unless they're trophy-size.
Good tips, aye! I think I covered the first one in Part 2, but definitely don't let splashtails bite with bait! Waste of your time shoveling, for sure. Happy Fishing, fella.
@@DeepDiving Glad to hear that, since despite me already having been level 50 for a bit now you taught me at least a few things I didn't know that will help big time with the remaining commendations. The Gold Shores pond for Treacherous Plunder is one, and the Blackcloud Wrecker tips is another. The Hunters Call and Merchant are my main goals of groups to totally get all commendations for, and this was a great watch.
@@MongooseJakeNerf Level 50 is but the beginning of the challenge- just as Pirate Legend is the end of the tutorial! The seas have many secrets- not all of them should be kept selfishly
I got 2 ashen keys in a row while just randomly fishing to pass time on the boat while my crew was sailing, I haven't got one since and that was a couple of months ago!
Little tip when going to the shores of gold for plunder! Before you go make sure to pick up a skeleton ship armada voyage. This for for whatever reason while active will not allow skeletons at the shores to spawn with guns. Good Luck!
A good place for devil fish is the skelly fort in the devils roar. there is a small space in the islands that can protect you from the volcano and other ships.
It would be so awesome if Rare implemented the ability to purchase a tacklebox filled with all 3 baits, and allowed for a Hunter's Call flag. I already swag my ship out in all fishing stuff when I go out on an excursion but I feel like that emissary flag would go that little extra step in letting other sailors know that I'm here to fish up a storm lmao.
Aye, it would! There's a lot of Hunters Call changes that could be beneficial to the whole emissary without ruining the work some of us have already put in. Here's hoping!
You can find night variants in barrels, shipwrecks, and other locations at any time. If you fished one up, you must've gotten lucky! I believe if you cast at the last moment before daylight, you can catch a night variant once the sun comes up!
I’m not new to sea of theives at all and always loved fishing and so does one of my friends and I just never felt like putting forth the time to try and catch the fish especially the shadow storm fish and blackcloud wrecker
Yup yup- though I've presented that tip before, I've had more people accidentally throw a 'wanted' fish on a line, forgetting about it.. so I try not to mention it anymore, lol
6:38, Was told once that Devil Fish will NOT spawn if the Island your Fishing on is NOT Currently Boiling the Water around it. Is in the Devils Roar and have Poor luck catching them Other wise when I tried. so you may want to be fishing these on a Island that is Europting while standing on a ROCK... Standing on dirt can cause you to loose the Fish because a Geiser CAN APPEAR beneath you while fishing. (Easy to know when this happens because YOU will be in the AIR when you figure it out and the FISH will be gone. )
Hey, late reply! UA-cam doesn't always notify me. Devilfish, unless that's changed, just have to be in the roar! I tended to sit by Cursewater Shores (A small island) and fish away from it. Water never boiled because it has no volcano to do so.

“Did you know you can catch Mew next to the truck by the SS Anne?” People have been trolling other people for decades in games.
400 comments down and a heart and/or reply on all of them (that I saw at least). Really love to see creators like you, and fantastic video! Keep up the great work.
I'm happy to get feedback and help someone out! I'm not here without any of you, after all =P
Thank you for the inspiring comment
I'm already a master hunter of the sea of thieves and know everything i need to know about it to get to legendary but im still enjoy to watch this video from time to time
Awh, that touches my heart! Glad you enjoy it!
Happy sailing c:
True, it does boost rep very, very quickly!
I love that you Can See since the latest update what you got on the Rod👍
A quick extra tip. Vote up a shores of gold quest and go fish pondies there. Did it with a brig, with my friends. Had Hunters call up to 50 in like 3 days of chilled fishing and diving.
Aye, shores of gold is also good for pondies. Usually people prefer mermaid's or such for the view, but it's a quiet alternative!
If you get a coral message in a bottle from flotsam or shipwrecks or anywhere else, it can be very lucrative to take on the shrine as you get the breath of the sea and some siren gems, and it can be a lot more fun than just fishing for rep.
True! If you're going for Reputation only, the gems from Siren Shrines will get that out of the way pretty quickly!
Easy to tell when they bite c:
Happy sailing!
Late entry but tip for storm fish catching when you hear the bell on your ship ring your in range of catching storm fish.
Aye!
8:43 when you reliaze that the video is an olden one because you can see the Golden Flamm hearth skull in the upper left corner
Is that not a thing anymore? 0.o
Interesting-
Me and my crew affectionately refer to Splashtails as "trashtails" because they always hog up the pool and have a nasty habit of stealing the bait off the hook before you can pull it back in.
"Is that the rare devilfish?! Oop- no wait, just a sunny splashtail :C"
one of the best in depth sea of thieves videos I have watched. A bunch of helpful tips I didn't even know! Cheers to you and to the Legendary Hunter Of The Sea Of Thieves
Well thank you very much! I'm glad it was so useful to ya.
Best of luck fishing, happy sailing!
Best Hunters call guide out there! Well done fellow fisherman!
Thank you good fella!
Hey, I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your guides. You have a great cadence and tone of voice! Thank you!
Well thank you very much! I'm glad you loved it so
This guide is severely underrated
Thank you kindly, fella!
Best fishing guide I've seen for SOT!
Hey bud, thank you so much! I'm glad you appreciate it so
Minor correction (as the gold and rep values differ, so I feel it’s worth mentioning):
According to the wiki, the tiers of fish are actually; base (ruby splashtail), common (sunny splashtail), uncommon (indigo splashtail), rare (umber splashtail), and night (seafoam splashtail).
A lot of the Hunters community sees no noticeable difference in the lowest two tiers of fish, and it only starts showing with uncommon and rare (night being it's own category)
If someone sees a difference; The information is there!
Thank you
I wasn't on the lookout for a Hunter's Call video, but I really enjoyed my stay!
Glad it found you, and glad you stayed for it!
I've never seen a video with a like ratio like this. Not surprising for it's level of quality.
It's done far better than I ever imagined it to, and I'm so happy that the time taken was well-spent
Well blame UA-cam for this one, somehow this wonderful comment wasn't published!
Thank you good fella c: I do love making these, they're amusing and educational at the same time! Will do! *Salute*
2 months on and now it's 700, that's good growth!
@@IcedKatana hOH- That's over 3x growth. Still 'small numbers' to everyone else, but that's not stopping me c:
Oooo well said! Discreet, 4 cooking stoves all in one spot, and close to a seapost.
Good tip!!
This is the best and most thorough fishing guide I’ve seen out there ! Well done fellow sailor, it must have required much time and effort 💪🏼.
Thanks a bunch, I’ve learned a lot from your video ;)
When my friend will ask about fishing, I’ll direct them to your guide !
Be well, matey.
Thank you so very much for your kind and, quite frankly, inspiring comment!
Glad you stopped by; I hope it serves your friends as well as it served you!
Happy sailing c:
Very well organised and edited guide, thank you. I’m getting a bit tired of my high speed high stress arena grind, and will probably do some fishing once I’m done with it
Go for it bud, it's an amazing, and pleasant grind.
I get that Arena grind- I'm still not yet done with it.
fantastic video mate. well done.
Thank you kindly c:
3:10, Also important to Note. If your level is PAST a certain amount The Hunters Call traders WILL NOT ACCEPT RAW FISH, so get used to cooking them from the start.
REALLY?
I don't remember that, but I only turned in cooked fish anyways!
Fascinating. I guess they expect professionalism in their turn-ins, haha!
GR8 guide mate.See you at seas.
Aye!
Great vid, I’ve always wanted to complete hunters call and now I finally know what I’m doing.
AWESOME to hear! Thank you, and best of luck!
Looking back, can't help but say I'm quite happy and proud of how well you've done here, mate! Keep up with it!
Excellent guide, very complete. Thanks.
You're absolutely welcome- thanks for stopping by for a comment!
Another great tip is always board other players ships and check the food barrels.
A bit of a risky one, but I've done this while hiding away on an island fishing. Best thing is, they can't take it from your inventory once it's in!
"Bro what you got in the pantry?"
i can't stop watching this video lol, it was put together so well! THANK YOU!! now im on my way to becoming a legendary hunter!!
Super glad to hear!! Keep at it lad, you'll get there. May fish be in your favor c:
This is a fantastic video before I didn’t want to do anything more with the hunters call but this has reinspired me
I'm ELATED to hear that, lad! The hunter's call is a long, but adventurous grind, and leaves you with a sense of pride in your silly fishes!
@@DeepDiving indeed when the update for fishing first hit its all I did for like weeks
Tip if you wanna catch something other than splashtails (especially if you're using bait): A few seconds before the fish bites, it's visible in the water circling the bait. If you see that it's a splashtail, you can cancel fishing (right-click on PC), and you will still keep the bait. Then you can cast again.
Yupyup! I believe I covered this in the second guide! Always a good tip, though.
I’ve had luck finding raven islehoppers consistently at crooked mast
Sounds like a good spot to go, lads!
another tip for fishing: you can tap the reel in button without it breaking the line, it doesn't shorten the reel-in time to much but anything to save time helps
Just fished for 3 hours and got to level 17. This is one of the most difficult achievements to obtain in Sea of Thieves.
You should do a mega guide on every faction, this was a really fun and informative video! :)
I had actually planned to! Currently seeing where the state of Sea of Thieves is going before I continue the guide series.
Thanks for the suggestion!!
Great guide. Best one on youtube for fishing in SoT.
Awh shoot, thank you so much! I'm elated to hear that
One tip for sishing faster is pushing your fishing rod to the limits.
12:00 help out as well crooked mast has a little island to the north west to help you with the treacherous plunder and raven isle hopper
Good point. I never used CM, but that's pretty nice to get both!
@@DeepDiving it's also a good spot to get some ashen keys as well
@@zknation8563 If you need them! They're a fairly decent way to farm doubloons, actually.
@@DeepDiving ain't that the truth
Knew pretty much everything in here except for the storm tracking business. Sounds great! Great video!
Thank you kindly! And yes, the storm tracking is a must-have. Unless you like the fear of the unknown ;D
This is the best guide to the Hunters Call anywhere, great job!
Exactly what I hoped for!
That warms my heart, thank you so very much!
This video has been fantastically helpful! You earned my sub, dear friend!
And thank you, I'm glad it helped! Happy sailing c:
I got 2 ashen keys in a row while just randomly fishing to pass time on the boat while my crew was sailing, I haven't got one since and that was a couple of months ago!
They're not very common, unless you're fishing in the spot at The Shores of Gold!
Appreciate the hell out of this video. Thanks man
Appreciate the comment, thank you!
This video is super informative with good quality, I was surprised to see your sub count. I’ll gladly subscribe to your channel. :)
Fantastic to hear! Welcome aboard c:
I've got more guides posted, and more for the future, along with my usual variety content
Little tip when going to the shores of gold for plunder! Before you go make sure to pick up a skeleton ship armada voyage. This for for whatever reason while active will not allow skeletons at the shores to spawn with guns. Good Luck!
THAT IS INCREDIBLY HELPFUL!
Never knew this, I hope this helps someone else out there!
Can there be the voyage and the tall tale at the same time?
@@greenypiggy yes
This video is extremely helpful. This deserves a subscribe.
Thank you kind fella! Happy sailing c:
A good place for devil fish is the skelly fort in the devils roar. there is a small space in the islands that can protect you from the volcano and other ships.
this was super helpful thankyou!
You're very welcome!
Really nice guide. Gave me Aperture Labs vibe for a reason, but more "pirate". Well done!
That is an extraordinary compliment.
Everyone loves Aperture Labs- and now it's pirate, too?
:D
It would be so awesome if Rare implemented the ability to purchase a tacklebox filled with all 3 baits, and allowed for a Hunter's Call flag. I already swag my ship out in all fishing stuff when I go out on an excursion but I feel like that emissary flag would go that little extra step in letting other sailors know that I'm here to fish up a storm lmao.
Aye, it would! There's a lot of Hunters Call changes that could be beneficial to the whole emissary without ruining the work some of us have already put in.
Here's hoping!
I found a fish looking like a night variant at the day when I started fishing
You can find night variants in barrels, shipwrecks, and other locations at any time. If you fished one up, you must've gotten lucky! I believe if you cast at the last moment before daylight, you can catch a night variant once the sun comes up!
@@DeepDiving I think the reason why I got a night variant in the day is because I thought it was still day time but it was about to be night
Why do you have so few subs, this is incredible content my friend. You have earned a sub
Well make my heart skip a beat, why don't ya! Not sure, but feel free to share it around

I’m not new to sea of theives at all and always loved fishing and so does one of my friends and I just never felt like putting forth the time to try and catch the fish especially the shadow storm fish and blackcloud wrecker
It's a fun, adventurous, and sometimes hilarious journey. Worth the time, if you have it!
This video is great. I hope you decide to make more SoT videos with the season 7 update out

Ay, thank ya very much bud!
Such good editing and effort into videos! You deserve a lot more subs
Heyyy, thank you so much!
Ravens Islehoppers can be found anywhere, not only where you can have amethyst ones (I just got a raven at discovery ridge)
It can be at any large island! However, improving your chances by making the fish pool smaller will help you obtain them.

@@TheGeechman You're welcome bud!

You're very welcome!
I’ve had this one for over a year. Easy. The hardest was the rare stormfish
You can actually catch 6 fish. 5 in food slots and 1 on the line
Yup yup- though I've presented that tip before, I've had more people accidentally throw a 'wanted' fish on a line, forgetting about it..
so I try not to mention it anymore, lol
Not exactly looking to fish, but this video is amazing! I loved it!
Thanks so kindly! Also funny you should say that, your picture is a fish c:
Well yes, because I think these fish look cool but fishing itself is very boring..
8:40 flame heart starring at u thinking why tf your talking to a sunken ship
Yup! Haha
Very satisfying to watch, still an absolute grind tho xD
I'm barely half way yet, but I'm working on it slowly :)
