To those who don't like this out there, you have no ear for melody or musical dynamics. He started the whole loud quiet loud thing kinda. I mean other bands did that before in a way, but this was really popular. Sold more records than The Pixies.
Listen to more nirvana. They have so many songs, and none sound like the other. His talent as a writer is phenomenal
always gotta introduce anyone who hasn’t heard nirvana by showing them teen spirit. i don’t make the rules
Nirvana overrated? I think what folks that say that dont realize is how hadd it is to make the complicated seem simple. There is a guy that breaks down the main riffs and plays them. Its pretty amazing what Kurt was doing. Very creative with the downtuning and odd time signatures and chord structures. Nothing was like it at the time. They werent a bunch of Sex Pistol players or hacks.
Who said Nirvana's overrated? Most influential band of the 90s.
Alot of ppl say this..it isn't true in my book they were revolutionary for their time. Way ahead of their generation
Yeah there is a difference between not liking something and it being overrated.
have her react to "Lounge Act" if she want's a Nirvana song with a peak moment.
React to a song from their MTV Unplugged Set!
Man: singing along & rocking out.
Wife: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Time to introduce her to TOOL...start with TOOL Sober Live...
I'm surprised that you didn't show her the "Smells Like Teen Spirit" video. It was so different back when it was released that they had to put subtitles on the screen just so people could understand it. To this day, whenever I buy new stereo equipment, the first song I play on it is Nirvana's "Come As You Are".
The context of Grunge is lost on a lot of people today because it's integrated into our culture. Back when all of this was released, it was revolutionary and everyone didn't know how to take it. They used "Alternative" as the genre because they wanted to be the alternative to rock n roll as it was known in the 80's. These days, no one is surprised as the music has been around for so long. Even Eddie Vedder once commented about knowing you're old when your music that you thought was so edgy was now being played on "oldies" stations.
"A girl is laying in the "Dirt" I Lol'd on that one as "Dirt" is the name of that AIC album.
😅😅
“Drain you” next! My favorite nirvana song and it’s louder than this song even tho I love lithium as well
Some good grunge songs to show her:

1992
Would love to see ya'll try some stoner rock....Clutch's studio live version of spacegrass or Big News I. Groovy bass lines.
Nice now Megadeth 🤟
Plz react to Lorna shore to the hellfire
I know what you mean by a high point, Megan. Lithium doesn't have that moment of excitement, like the key change in I Have Nothing, or the final breakdown in To The Hellfire by Lorna Shore. Songs are what they are, though. If you like Norah Jones, maybe you could turn the tables on your husband by having him listen to Angelina Jordan's cover of the new Adele song, Easy On Me. Edited: Just to clarify, I think Lithium is a good song that doesn't need a high moment. It's valid without one.
That's your opinion, your stating it as if it's facts stfu.
There aren't rules to what makes a good song. That is what needs to be learned here.
Please do Slipknot Devil in I
09:10 maybe try their song "Rape me." 🤨. What artist DO you think is impressive?? ☹️
Lounge Act
Dude, its hard to take the lyric meaning read seriously with your buds dangling over your ears 😂
Logan, you do just fine at the intros. For real though, Temple of the Dog "Hunger Strike" is a good grunge one to do. Megan, you are not dead inside, Nirvana is kinda an acquired taste. I HATED them in the '90s, but I gained an appreciation for them over the years. My opinion is Courtney played a big hand in his death. Elvis is dead. Tupac is dead. JIM MORRISON IS ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!
you should have her listen to alot of The Warning songs she would probably be into those since its rock and they are teenagers and 3 sisters please let me know what you think
It’s very hard these days to find a woman of substance, a woman who appreciates things on a deeper level. I contribute this loss of connection to social media such as Instagram, tik tok, Facebook and the likes. Not to be mean or insensitive but 95% of women these days just don’t get it, nor care to, to the majority women life is about exploiting their body to impress men to land a man with money or to get their fix from how many likes and comments they get on the pictures they post of themselves. It’s a sad world we live in and it’s only getting worse. Sad but true
Um….don’t know about 95 percent babe.and if they are exploiting there body most of them aren’t doing it to find men with money, they are doing it because they feel comfortable in their body and like how they look. now I see that this is your opinion but not every women is like this and the things that women do is not all about men so please think about that before you say that.also it’s not only women who looks for likes and follows it’s men as well.just because this lady doesn’t like nirvana doesn’t mean she cares about money and materialistic things.
Facts
@@blankbear i think what he’s saying is that i those types of women you mention aren’t given enough respect and or seen as lame. They aren’t shown on social media like the other type of women that are superficial, disrespectful, and ignorant are the ones portrayed on social media as the baddies, the girls all the guys want. And that whole being independent shit is bullshit. Yes men and women can be FINANCIALLY independent, but that has nothing to do with love. At least real love. Men need Women just as much as we need Women emotionally, and to support each other spiritually, mentally.
But based off of her not liking Nirvana doesn’t make sense lol. It’a just funny sometimes she always looks so lost and judgemental. It’s new for her so it’s understandable i guess
More alice in chains please
Time for a divorce.
Never
she's not it
