In this video, you might notice that the green pad's sock slips off as the video goes on: the first indicator that it wasn't on tight should have been when I tried to activate overdrive for the 2nd time and it didn't even read me hitting the green pad, haha
Also, the pads are shaking so much because of the sock mod: i'm not hitting them all that hard.

It reduces the noise, increases the drum stick rebound/bounce, squeezes the drum heads to the drum shell (compression the foam and allowing the piezos to register hits easier) - making rolls easier, and double hits nonexistant.
I've been playing drums for 10 years. I didn't find getting into Rock Band a problem at all, I started on Hard and moved to Expert very quickly. I didn't think it took time to get used to where things where. As far as reading the notes go, I don't think I had much trouble with that because I've been playing rhythm games for about 8 years(DDR, Beatmania, Amplitude, Guitar Hero)

no, the sock mod does a number of things:
-dampens sound
-increases sensitivity on single hits
-increases sensitivity on quick hits/multiple hits
QM's don't ever have a problem with overhitting, and gum rubber wouldn't do this at all.

try hitting it hard and fast and see if it responds: if it does (and it might since you say it's double hitting), you're either on a rare odd set, or an SL set or something.

Awesome run. I have trouble in the "I'm a highway star.." chorus repetition. The bass pedal there really messes my rhythm up, even on hard. The verses are really fun to play though with those sporadic drum rolls adding some flavor.

basically, besides the green pad fuckup on the 2nd OD activation, every single miss you see in here is me: i.e. zero pad misses.
i'm using this same mod on the RttH video where i knock it out of the park
Those are towels. They say that it reduces the noise and increases the reaction time so you can play faster songs.

i also fucked up and had overdrive remaining at the end, forgot to wait so it'd chain into the last OD
the second overdrive in the song, the one i don't activate, i actually hit the green if you look at me but the pad fucked up and didn't register it.
got my new REAL drum set this week and i went into practice mode and played this on expert.
if your an expert player these charts are fuckin lifelike.
its very fun and transitioning from rockband drum to a real kit.

Most people tend to save their overdrives by not hitting the green (or red if set to lefty mode)notes at the end of the fills because they want to save it for when there are more notes. If they hit it when there aren't many notes it just seems like a total waste. That's why alot of people save it for drum rolls or when there's hella notes. Hope it helped you out.
there is an orange line that goes across the meter it is pretty thin but it signals when to press the pedal or bass drum

actually not much: this was probably my sixth or seventh time playing this. Real drums + prior rhythm game experience helps a lot.
I barely touched mine during an easy song and it snapped in half! The newer models they make are more reinforced, but still the same plastic POS!

hey man i play real drums to but you have major skill for rockband no doubt. How do you get your pedal like that. cause i tried to move my pedal from my electric set and it didnt work and from my real drum set and i dont know how to hook it up. I would be super stoked if you told me how and ,ajor props for rocking our asses off in your videos they are sick no doubt!

you say that you have been playing the drums for 4+ years but the first time i played this game it seems to me that it really does not matter whether u play the drums or not... ive been playin for 6 years and i played this game the first time and it was completely different than real drums just because of the placement of things and the fact that u dont hav all the drums... it actually made it kinda difficult for me to play because i know how it really is supposed to be... what do u think?

I think this is his 12th. I'm waiting on my 3rd..yellow drum always breaks. :( It depends what's wrong with your set Duna...are there constant clear pad misses or does it just suck with drum rolls?
