I would stay away from the plastic mags. Check the factory mag and see if the mag catch cuts match others. Also, it looks like the magazine followers dont push the ammo high enough for the bolt to catch and push in the round.
Yeah, Mp5 are known for being reliable you would think it would work with all the mags, but I’m going to have to bring all my mags and mp5 and Mark all the mags that work with all of them, hopefully they like the same mags.
Once you realize just how much you get out of a PTR, in my case the PTR-9c, you'll break down an invest in some HK mags. That's all I have left and all I run now with one last polymer mag. Semper Fi.
Anything ptr makes looks solid its just those shitty magazines people keep buying cause they look cool that’s all its always original o.e magazines that work best!
Make sure you smack the charging handle in the downward position. Do not ‘baby’ the charging handle or you’re going to have cycling issues. Not trying to downplay your magazine issues but operator error can contribute as well. Try that in addition to getting new in-spec mags and see what happens. Be safe and God bless brother
Yeah thanks, yep Out of the 6 or 7 mags I got 2 work in it, the gun runs great with those mags, the other not so much. Got to try some hk mags and see how it goes. Not sure if it’s the mags or the mag catch or the mag well.
I didn’t those are the mags they shipped with my guns two mags with the k and two with the full size. I have a mke ap5k and ap5 fullsize mp5 clones that run all my mags kci, mke, all mags. My PTRs will not.

I have a Springfield Armory 1911 that is the same way. Won't cycle all the rounds in the cheaper magazines.
