Trying to be clever with that intro, doesn't help when A.I. pronounce the name of the city wrong! 😅 If a Skynet situation ever takes place in this world, all we have to do is ask A.I. to pronounce Kissimmee correctly. The entire network will malfunction.
This property operated for many years as a Sheraton before becoming a La Quinta and then a Best Western. (The Best Western franchise was terminated in the summer of 2011). I don't think it will be long until the hotel closes and gets redeveloped as apartments.
The land is was posted for a sale a few weeks ago and it sounds like its even too far gone to become cheap studio apts. it's being marketed for hotels, shopping, maybe new apts but I think the zoning would have to be changed.
I live in the Orlando area@ I haven't been this side town in many years! But I have been seeing a lot of videos lately up and down hwy 192 how run down everything is. Sad! Great video!
This was my dad's go to hotel when we went to Disney in the 80's. It was the Sheraton Lakeside inn back in those days. Part of the reason we stayed is he got some good military rates back then, prob not $30 something dollars but it was a hell of a lot better back then. Since I was a kid all I can remember about the place was the great (paid) breakfast buffet in the restaurant before we hit the parks. Also there was the kids club with Herbie. He was an alligator that ate so many bananas that he became part Banana himself. Saw the Herbie's kids club still on the resort map and that brought some memories.
@@wut_da_henk8613 I would have loved to visit some of these places when they were in their prime! It's a shame to only be able to see them in this condition.
Now to give some positive news. The land is up for sale. Meaning whoever buys this doesn't get the hotel so that means that whenever the land is sold the hotel will close and be tore down. The land is very prime land and now has become a time where the land is worth way way more empty then with the hotel on it. Kinda sad but it's time for this place to get tore down. I was shocked the day I got the email when they listed the land.
I'd recommend checking out the hotel on the other side of the lake, the Quality Inn By The Lake. I stayed there in Oct 2022 and found it to be a pretty decent place for a week. I'd be curious to see how it is now.
@@disneyfan9099 Oh, that's disappointing to hear! I stayed there on my first trip to Disney, Since I don't drive down, the location made it hard to go and come from the theme park as I wanted to. So I wouldn't stay there again, but it has a soft spot in my heart.
A lot of these hotels took a huge hit during COVID. They were already rundown and outdated but Covid only made a worse after they got no money for a almost a year.
surprisingly people are always staying there I pass this everyday and see lots of unhappy people. I also feed the cats that stay in the back side near Wendy’s and feel bad for them.
What's wrong with renting a motel room that looks like it's the 1990s inside.. those were some good times back then.. so tell me how much was the price for one night?.... Back in my day this motel room would have been called roach motel😅

I’m originally from up north and that is how I pronounce Kissimmee to this day after living here for ten years.
Oh just stop with the cliché Florida native “You pronounced it wrong” bullshit. You’re pronouncing it wrong, Florida.
I'm 43 this hotel was state of the art in 1992 the phones are the same lol
Bro that phone is classic!!! 🤣
$34.56 a night over the 4 day thanksgiving day weekend 2024.. AND miniature golf. I'm there!

Had to stay there for a month or two after storm damager from Hurricane Irma. I see it still looks a bit ramshackled.
When I was a traveling salesman this place is typical of what I used to stay at....what memories!
I would have to wash my clothes and get a shower after leaving this room... those matresses were wild.
You should do a resort review at westgate villa in Kissimmee

It's still pretty decent. It's cheap. It was up for sale so who knows once a new owner takes over.

Love the intro. Way to funny
Omg! I wouldn't stay there if it was free!!
That was a real nice hotel in the 1980’s.
$60? you got screwed! I've paid that much for Marriotts in Orlando.
I got worked and anybody else staying at this dump is too lol
kuh·si·mee not kiss e mee Florida is depressing in so many ways, didn't used to be.
the vibes i got when i almost stayed there, and again in this, are those of a prostitution sting episode of cops from like 1991.
I hope you report this to front desk. I would report this to the county health dept.

You said it wrong lol. Kuh sim mee
Never pick the cheapest hotel!
You are correct 💯
Disgusting! 🤮
I'm sure you will find a few bed bugs also.
ohhh being sarcastic lol
I thought you were one of those computerized bots talking in the intro of this video. Lol.
Did you actually spend the night there?
Don’t they have a locals policy?
Nope
The mispronouncing of Kissimmee. Lmao ya this place is terrible.
why maintain it if people still will stay there. I home your not staying there.
Not wrong there! And no I left lol
You aren't pronouncing Kissimmee correctly. Kind of sucks all the credibility out of your video. Kis-sim-e
