The newest, best news is that the panel ships with ESPHome compatibility. Home Assistant software can now connect natively to this integration.
A tutorial showing how to program scripts and automations to work with Alarmo would have saved me a lot of time.
Found a PoE USB C adapter that passes both 2A of charging and Ethernet to a Lenovo tablet I am using for a keypad interface. Industrial velcro keeps it on the wall.
I have programmed Home Assistant to send an email to my phone's text messaging. A custom ringtone notification for this sender lets me know that a break-in has occurred. No monthly fee this way.

That's awesome news, and thanks for putting out the firmware that lets us get our liquidated boards to have full functionality! I'm glad I took a gamble on that because I really do prefer the POE wired connection.

Great update, awesome. Real honest customer service. A+ Just kicking myself for not picking up the wifi only model which I need to replace an older unit that's overheating for unknown reason. It's beyond warranty so my only choice was to rebuy new.

I'm sure it cost Konnected a fair amount of money, but it sounds like you've come through it, and can look forward to some "normal" for a little while. I got 2 alarm panel pro's very early, they've been flawless since mid 2021.
Awesome work guys. Embedded software engineering is hard. It's another level of difficultly with custom hardware. It's always the minutia that gets you, and it always seems simple once you find it. The pragmatic, disciplined engineering approach you took to investigating the issue is why you found it. You and your team should be proud.

The updated firmware will apply to all Alarm Panel Pro v1.8 that use the RTL8201 chip.
Love a happy ending. Quick question... do you know how many Motion Sensors can be powered by the Pro board? I'm thinking I may need a separate power supply. Thanks from Australia (kicking myself.. was going to buy a $79 board last night)
Honeywell's motion sensors (digitalassets.resideo.com/damroot/Original/10019/L_ISDTSNRGF_D.pdf) seem to have a max current under 20mA, so if you power your Konnected Pro with a 2.5A and we assume the panel (with a siren going ) takes 1A, you'd have 1500mA left so that's enough to power 75 motion sensors (at max current draw).
If you cheap out and get the 1.5A adapter, under the same assumptions you could power 25 motion sensors.
In other words, this is almost certainly not a concern. And if it is, I really want to hear about why you're using so many sensors!
