Kelly’s music and lyrics have been a major part of my life. He is unbelievably talented. I could listen to his music for ages and never get tired of it. Very good episode!
Not enough words to describe how BRILLIANT this podcast is. To get someone as private as Kelly Jones to share so honestly and intelligently is quite a feat. So well done. And Kelly, for those of us who’ve loved you and admired your talents for ever, this podcast has only made us love you more. Pob hwyl i ti a phob lwc yn y dyfodol 🙏💝🙏
I can't imagine Kelly will ever read this but he and the band in whatever iteration have literally formed the soundtrack to my life. He is such an inspiration...and now my second born is going through a similar transition to Colby and we are all learning together. I cried when he said that children don't need talked at, they just need hugs. Huge respect Kelly. See you in the Toon again in March '22 xxx
As of my respect for this guy couldn’t be any more, hearing what he has gone through with his Son and the loss of his twins, I’ve got nothing but respect for him. Wish nothing but the very best for him and his family. What a guy 👏🏻
Well Liam Gallagher had singing lessons after he signed his solo deal with Warner and it basically saved his career which was nearly over after Beady Eye. But Kelly Jones is undoubtedly the best rock vocalist in the UK
@OASISBROTHER no way Warner would sign him unless he sorted out his voice, he's singing high notes he couldn't get near since 1996. Its not a bad thing plus Wyatt had him singing better because he's a brilliant co writer/singing coach/producer its his job.
Kelly is such great guy. I grew up listening to Stereophonics, I always liked how quiet Kelly was but on stage he turned into this amazing performer! Great interview! Thank you 🙂
Seemed a real down to earth bloke considering been writing great music for sooo long. Also props to interviewers……it’s refreshing to hear interviewers ask a question and then actually sit back and listen.
One of the best interviews I have ever seen. A roller coaster of emotions on a very personal level. Kelly is truly one of the greatest on and off stage, much respect.
Your music reminds me of days growing up in England just days n life great stuff everyday life the ups n downs the good n the bad family friends good shit
Wow, what an amazing interview, so honest. Kelly has certainly done a lot of deep thinking, and comes across as genuine and humble. Well done and thank you for sharing....
Stereophonics have been one of my all-time favorite bands. Incredibly talented with songs you can listen to over and over again and again, never getting old. But the one quality of Kelly and the band which is hard to find in today's era is the fact they are so humble and grateful to their fans. Bucket list: head to UK to see these guys live. Huge fan base here in the US.
Kelly is Kelly.... he gives us some fantastic music... what I don't like is that people don't appreaciate him (because he rocks???)... and slag him off, without justifaction....!! (I love this guy"!!)
Kelly, Richard and Stuart best mates. I don't understand the people that separate Kelly from the phonics when Kelly is the writer of all the songs. If I was in a band and the drummer is going off the rails and being late probably most of the time, I'd have issues with that. Kelly's been through enough already and his son 16, coming out transgender, all I can say to kolby being strong enough to do that in today's world is celebration. And it's great to hear that there is no bullying either is great. And bless Jackie and Kelly on the miscarriage of their twins.
Unknowingly stumbled upon this interview and noted that it's KJ's June 3rd birthday. Heard the mention of only 2 concerts cxld in a few decades. Add the Montreal, Que., Canada show about 15 years ago that I learned was cxld after showing up at the theatre "early" that eve. Depressing as the show went on in Toronto a night or two later. 'Till the next North American tour........

Having seen a lot of live bands in the last 40 years, for entertainment, honesty & enjoyment, Stereophonics are the top.

There's a weird snobbery about Kel and the Phonics for some reason. He's just a genuine guy. Glad to see it's not held him or them back!
Really enjoyed this interview. Relaxed vibe and no click bait, just some genuine open conversations 👍
