- I am testing my brother's RC Tank. He bought this over 10 years ago but has been half built and in storage until late last year when he completed painting it and detailing it.
It's very fragile as you can imagine due to the high scale detail but it's all worth it.
I found one of these in a skip in perfect working order. The owners daugher threw it away clearing out her late father's collection... dumped the lot as i was driving by... had to have it :-)

@@pofrani It was. Who even throws stuff like that away! Looking at mine last night, it's actually a King Tiger, one with brass gears inside and clutches etc. I know zero about them other than it was big, good order and had a nice box of spares.

your brother is really talented, surely to this day they continue to remind him how good he is, the level of detail he has is incredible, every little thing is well done, even detail, tiny technicians like the starter lever, just amazing! I'm getting ready to purchase the Tamiya 1/16 Tiger 1 early version I think like yours. It has the T-03 DMD control unit with the DMD MF01 Multi function unit. My question for you is, can you recommend a transmitter and receiver for it. I like the one in your video but not sure I can afford that one. Can you save me the time and trouble it takes to figure out which controller works the best? Did you try different controllers (transmitters) before you came to use the one in your video? Thanks!
Hey there. Basically you can use any transmitter. You could look at the Open Source RadioMaster TX16s. They're cheap and very capable. I use this for my racing drones.

99 marks. If they can add in an orange-red LED light flashing at the end of the barrel when the cannon fires, just like the flashings when the machine gun fires, that would be a perfect 100 marks.
It does but it's too quick for the frame rate of the video. There's a white (?) light (I can't remember now as it's been years) when the cannon fires.

Outstanding work on the weathering! Going to build my first tank because it is cool, and one of the few RC vehicles I haven't had yet.... other than the radio and perfect weathering, any non stock parts on this build? Thinking of the Sherman myself....

But I scratchbuilt most of them but the most important change are the metal wheels and the smaller diameter idler wheel. But really it all depends on which Tiger he is planning on building as they are all different - in big and in small ways. Start with deciding if he wants an early, mid or late Tiger? Or maybe just pick a battalion he likes and take it from there?!

Thanks - I can't remember exactly which receiver I used but it's definitely more than 4 channels.

I wonder how hard it would be to convert the main gun to a .22 cal and take it target shooting.
lol. the barrel might not be able to deal with the pressure though.
A mate of mine has that on his but his son had to create a while barrel and firing mech for it he told me it was more hassle than what it was worth to be honest bud if you get a taigen RC tank it can fire 6mm BB pellets

I've got a DX6 transmitter for my helis, what receiver are you using?
I can't remember but I think it's just a basic 6 channel. Could even be an OEM like Orange.

It looks like that because it had been cobbled together from at least two Tigers that had been brought back damaged and kept as a training vehicle. Hence the early turret and late roadwheels. The "F" is from an Oberleutnant Fehrmann, who formed a scratch Kampfgruppe of some Tigers and Panthers in the last days of the war.

Thanks. He does. He did a King Tiger as well and he actually has a couple more tanks he's working on but I can't remember what they are as I'm afraid I'm not familiar with tanks like he is.

What do you mean? The flash does work. It's just been pushed far in so the LED doesn't show.

I'm using a DX6 for my tank......how did you program the cannon fire and machine gun fire to individual switches? Can you do a video on that please?

Hi tank looks great how do you get the main gun to fire on a separate switch , I have just bought the same tank and you have to use the trim which I don't like
Hi -thanks. I use a Spektrum transmitter and you can program the switches :) So I programmed it on a separate switch to make it easier.

@@pdoyle2 No - you do this in the transmitter. you need a decent transmitter. Mine is 9 channels. Look into those Taranis transmitters. They're cheap and highly configurable.

Hi there, just wondering if everything such as the engine sounds, turrent sounds, firing sounds and the main gun motion all comes in with the full option kit?
Obviously the radio is needed extra but is the rest all included?
I'm really interested in getting a scale tank after years of been into crawling/scaling with 4x4's.
+RC Fun Everyday Hi - yeah, the sound is part of the kit and all the sound is included. You will need a radio as you've mentioned but yes, all the sound is pre-programmed in.

Hi - it's standard... but eventually the wires would have twisted too much that eventually you will need to go back the other way to untangle the wire! :oP

If u want to make that baby more "history true" u have to do 3 more things:
1. Change some details for late production - special commander copula, front lights (late production have just one in middle), muzzle brake...
2. Change tracks for late one
3. Add zimmerit for lower hull, or remove it from turret

thats a wierd combo... its a late production E variant lower hull, with an early production upper hull, late production turret with an early production cupola....

Not to mention those steel wheels. Early production upper hull but w/o Fiefel air cleaner unit.
Fehrmanns were cobbled together out of whatever was left in the panzer-parts bin at the end of ww2. Some even used wooden wheels and the running gear from captured Churchill’s, Sherman’s and T34’s it is rumoured.

I do have the gears but the control box I believe is not in the kit that you move the levers to move the tank. Yes the 1/16th kit

They are about £600-£800 for the basic kit then you need the transmitter and batteries on top.

It doesn't shoot nor has laser pointer. It has LED light to simulate the barrel firing. You can get cheaper Marui tanks that shoot BB pellets though.

That appears to be a mix matched tank. The lower hull is a late production Tiger 1 with steel wheels and the turret has been replaced with an early production turret. It was not uncommon to mix up tank parts from damaged armor to get serviceable vehicles back into the fight.
Apparently this is how the Fehrmann Tiger was built..
